Feeling sick before ....
going into labour.
I have been feeling very off for the last few days. To the point of feeling like I want to vomit. Just a constant nauseous feeling.
What I want to know is has anyone had this feeling prior to going into labour ??
I am trying to work out whether this is a stomach bug (without any other issues) or whether it could be my body getting ready for labour. Thinking that perhaps a hormone surge could be causing the nausea,
I was sick when I went into labour with Tehya, but that was more of a flu thing, hight temps etc.
TIA

I was sick a couple of weeks before I went into labor with Rochelle... My Dr told me it was hormones changing and getting ready for birth or something... But then I had that awful migraine a couple of nights before I had Rochelle which was accompanied with nausea... Sorry, that info probably wasn't that helpful, but I suppose I did get a little bit sick! Definitely got sick in transition! ROFL
Good luck Trish... How exciting!!
-
Thanks Catherine. Yeah I get sick in transition too. Shocker isn't it !!
-
Hey Trish
it does sound like your body is responding to a surge in hormones....yay...not for nausea
I was really emotional for the few days before I went into labor with Jay...and then nauseous in transition...yucko
rest up yummy mummy ;)

Hey Trish, I was exactly the same with Ash, 24 hours before I went into labour i was sick as sick, looked horrible, felt horrible, even my sis knew something was up no matter how hard I tried to hide it..
-
Ohhhh goody goody gum drops. LOL.
I have been a right b!tch too. Does that mean anything. Or just that I am a b!tch ;)
-
LOL for the 3 weeks before labour I had on/off nausea and feeling ill. The day of labour starting I sent Matilda to day care because I felt so ill, I stayed in bed all day & snapped at anyone who would talk with me. That night I went into labour... and all I can say was it was an intense feeling of yuck. I slept and laid in bed with nausea and grotty feelings.
-
nah not a 'b!tch' Trish...just one hot, feisty, birthing mummy to be :)
-
Hi Trish
It is very common to feel sick before going into labour. Looks like your baby will be in your arms soon
-
LOL Thanks Natalie :D
Christy, I don't want 3 weeks of it. 1 week tops will do me thanks :D
Ahhh nothing like going into labour feeling like crap already....
Oh Alan, here's hoping hun. Feel like some quick work. ;) Don't think my midwife will be making it here.
-
Oooooh, Trish..........sounds like things are begining to dock and roll.............best of luck babe! xx
-
Trish if i was in Sydney I would pop in to see you today. I would love to be able to attend your birth.
-
Are you serious when you say your midwife will not get there in time?
-
Not unless she can drive super fast. She is 4 hours away !!
-
It would take me a lot longer than 4 hours to get there :)
-
LOL Yeah I know. Diff state and all ;)
Nice in theory and thought though :D
-
Ugh yucko, Trish. How awful to be constantly feeling crook. Hope that this does mean it will all be happening for you soon... How very exciting! Looking forward to reading your announcement :)
-
Amy, just don't go holding your breath hun. I have a feeling bub is going to make me wait it out.
-
I never had it but have heard of it so sounds quite promising!!
ETA: Actually maybe I should take that back cause the dr at the hospital told me at my 34 week check up to make sure my bags were packed cause I was going to go anytime soon... Yeah they induced me 8 days past EDD.
-
:(
Do you like ginger? I know it seems like a pi$$-poor suggestion, but maybe ginger tea or dry ginger ale might help you feel *slightly* better?
-
Well I am off to the hosp for a check. Have been worse all afternoon.
Will hopefully be back later with an update of some sorts.
-
Thanks girls.
And Alan  thank you soooo much hun. :D
-
-
Trish hope they tell you some good news!
-
-
Well I am in early labour. DP and my dad will be leaving soon and doing a round trip up to get my midwife. So around 9 hours for them.
God I hope they get back in time.
-
Trish
Do you have someone there with you?
Phone me if you need to, I will help you through it over the phone if needed
-
Oh Trish all the best matey! I hope it all goes smooth as can be, and that they make it back with plenty of time to spare.
Sending lots of strength and positive feelings over to you...
-
Alan, I don't have your number hun. Is it on your site. Nope, no one will be here. Mum is not far away though so if I really need someone I will get her back. I will be home alone with the 2 little ones.
Going in to have a warm bath soon. Might soothe my poor bottom ;) and hopefully my sore stomach too.
-
I was nauseaus the night before I had Sofia as well. Hope your midwife and DP get back in time.
-
-
Thanks a heap guys.
Alan, thank you. I have taken your number down.

Oh all the best Trish!!!
-
Wow Trish, all the best, will be thinking of you tonight.
-
Thanks girls. Go get some sleep, it's gonna be a long one ;)
-
Woo hoo Trish. How exciting. It appears she is in a hurry, I hope she waits for your mw! Tom arrived early and I only had a 3 hour labour!
I wish you all the very best hun, it looks like your Chrissy present is coming early this year. I know she will bring you much happiness. You can do this, you've done it once or twice (or 4 times) before!
-
Oh Trish - I've just found this thread - good luck sweetie! Can't wait to hear your news (I might have some of my own soon but it looks like you'll definitely beat me to it), but I hope that your little one decides to wait long enough for the midwife to arrive.
-
Waiting for some news! Sending lots of prayers up for you and your family, Trish :) Hopefully you are cuddling your newest darling little girl right now!
-
