Hi.
Who has done this and is it right?
I heard it is back and forth for a boy and in circles for a girl.
Is it over the tummy or hand? Or just belly when pregnant and over hand to see all babies?
Thanks.

Does no one do the ring test anymore?
What is the most common test to do beside an U/S?
Hi Mumzy, i have heard exactly the same as you, back and forth for boy, circles for girl and over the belly when preg and over the hand tp show all babies
It worked for me for my first preg, a little angel boy i lost at 18weeks,
and worked again for my girl, who i lost at 36 weeks and when i do it over my hand, they both show
I'm preg again (fingers crossed) but i havent done it yet coz i am only 8 weeks, and even though i know that genes determine sex and its already decided, i will wait till the age that they are formed to try it!!
It worked for all mine and it was right.
You can do the ring test from 12wks
WOW so 100% so far.
i have done it for quite a few friends, 100%.Once i did it on a friends mother on her wrist , said 1 boy and 6 girls, here girls did not know that they had a brother and she said it must be wrong and laughted it off and later told me it was true. She adopted him out, as she was 16 at the time.
Wow Betty Boop, thats pretty spot on! How emotional for your friend (and you too !!)
It has also worked for a friend of mine and her two boys
And another friend who says she has had a pretty acurate record with ot too.
I reckon it has something to do with the gold reacting with female or male energy or something like that...... but thats as far as my unscientific brain can take it!! LOL
My DD2 was ment to be a boy according to the ring test!!
Just for curiosty's sake, do u have to use ur wedding ring because i can't get mine off:redface:?
Wrong for me, 3 different people did it, all had it wrong! lol
Just to confuse the issue - sorry!! I was googling this topic a while ago and found a road test that was carried out on five mums by a channel nine program I think (don't trust me on that though - bad pregnancy brain!). The most accurate of the five old wives tales was the ring test. The only thing is that they said that if the ring swung back and forth it meant a girl and round in circles meant a boy.

I had the ring test done with my DD#2 and it came up girl, The man who did was a farmer who does it over his PG cows and gets accurate results, he said I was going to have a heffer he he.
with my daughter the ring test was right, i did it again this time and it lined up with what i've been told at the ultrasound, just have to wait four more months to see if its right, the chinese lunar calendar both so far have been right too.
I did the ring test and it said boy but I had a girl. I thought it was back and forth for boy (long like penis!!) and circle for girl (well you get the picture!) I also did Chiense chart and that was right but it wasn't for my mum so who knows!!!
There are heaps of crazy tests out there - just google them and you can try a few. They ask questions that are so strange and I have no idea how they could possible relate to the gender .ie. do you eat crusts of the bread? WTF!!!!
Just curious RoseHannah and Klee what you believe is right for the ring test. Back and forth for a girl and in circles for a boy or vice versa?!!!
I understand that it's back and forth for a boy (like penis) and in circles for a girl. However I've never tested the theory.
My sister is coming from Brisbane to visit me next week and we will be using my Mum's wedding ring to do the test (she died 8 years ago). Apparently I need to be wearing the ring for at least a few hours so it picks up my 'energy'.
I'll let you all know how it goes!
Sorry I took so long to get back to you, I was doing the ring test with DH and it kept coming up with the same results each time I have had a boy and two girls and the ring started out going in a back and forward motion across my wrist, then slow down and turned into a circle motion then slowed a little then went into a circle motion again. I did the test on myself then did the test over DH, just to see if it may have been me unintentionally steering it. Nothing happened over DH wrist. Then DH wanted to have a go and the same thing happened for him, a boy and two girls when the ring was held over my wrist! Pretty amazing stuff, I would like to hear a scientific explanation for that.
OMG I just read Rosehannah and was about to say the same thing.
This is so freaky!!!
I have done it with a wedding band and with a needle on thread (easier as you can tell the direction better, and those of you who can't get their rings off HEHE).
WOW Bettyboop thats a good story.
I did it to my mum and myself. On my tummy for bubs gender and on mums hand and mine to see number of kids and genders and the order.
There is a cool video of it that you should watch YouTube - Gender Prediction Test (the ring test)
And it did count m/c or lost babies (mum had an ectopic pregnancy before she had me and lost the bub at 4 and a half months and almost her life too).
IT WAS 100% RIGHT WITH MUM and with me so far 100% so I will have to see if it is true to the end....and it was showing signs that this was the last aswell.
It works for us as straight = boy and circle = girl.
I had a m/c between my DS and DD#1 I am not sure what sex that bub was but the circle motions do go on for a long time so possibly it was a girl. What did it do to show you it had finished?
It just completely stopped after the three genders and their pauses.
It's crazy....I never believed such things but even when you do it yourself it's like a magnet or something, I always thought it was someone swinging it around pulling my leg :)
For me it seemed to take a long time for it to stop, I hope it isn't a sign of things to come, DD#2 was a surprise, I have taken more care to stop that from happening again. I love her dearly but I'm done!!
i had circles for girl and my ultrasound has said girl. MIL has always done it as circle girla nd side to side boy and has always been right
OMG
Another update.
I did it on DP and he got the same as me :) Then he did it to me and it stayed the same.
Makes you kinda feel all warm and tingly!!
I want to do it to everyone I know now HAHA
sorry ladies took me a while to get back on, but yeah i heard side to side boy and circles for girl. i did it with my sisters wedding ring and my grandmothers wedding ring and the same outcome, my sister she even tried a paperclip on me and it worked the same as a ring, guess thats the 'unmarried' version lol.
i just did mine and it said 3 boys , 1 girl which is what i have already, we are TTC the the ring said 1 boy and then 1 girl and stoped . wow
WOW this stuff just doesn't get boring for me...I love hearing it!!
What if it just twists, and doesn't do the circle or line? Tried it on both my husband and myself with both our wedding rings and got nothing. Does this mean no kids? or we just too unco to get the ring working?
Kate - Try using a needle on a piece of thread and just wait for the needle to completely stop first and then watch the movements like a magnet is guiding it. Check out this if I don't make sense YouTube - Gender Prediction Test (the ring test)
My sister has never been wrong... yet!!!
She does one either over the marital bed, or your tummy while pg. She needs the wedding ring, and cotton (for some reason it only works with cotton).
She'll ask if there is good spirits in the room, and the ring moves a certain way, if it doesn't move she can't do it... then asks which is yes and no then asks about the baby.,...
She got DD right, and said this was a girl before US said she was right!
Weird, but so far she hasn't been wrong with anyone!
Another amazing update.
I did this with my sister (with Air Con blowing and all) and it showed her two daughters and thats it.....but I want to try again just incase.
This is so much fun!
I did it the other day at work and the lady who did it got it in a circle, so I'm assuming that means girl. We also did it when I was pregnant with DS and it showed him as a boy.. hmm.. interesting.... I don't want to read too much into it cos I would like a girl but also would be happy with a boy cos then I can have the three kids I want (DH would want to stop if I have a girl).. :-(
I forgot to mention the other day that I pull a piece of hair out of my head and tie it to the ring, then I lay the ring down on the folds of my wrist, then I lift the ring off my wrist so that it is about half a cm above. Usually it just dangles and quivers or gives a slight turn then it starts to give the reading for me it is always boy then two girls, sometimes it takes quite a while for it to finish.
yes u can do it with your hair if its long enough , what i normaly do with people is get them to hold it in there hand for a few mins , then place it on there wrist and then go from there.never been wrong yet.
I can't find any reason or explanation anywhere for why this happens and why it WORKS!
Any help?
Is it magnetism or something? Power of the mind? Magic? Auras? Chi? Something I am missing?
When you watch the pendulum be it a ring or needle, it seriously moves like a magnet is pulling it, not the string swinging it to influence it....if that makes sense.
Its crazy hey??!! I remember that when I was pregnant with DD the ring went in circles and this pregnancy it's swinging side to side indicating a boy (and I have felt from the start that this may be a boy?? - will find out in two months!!). I tried the test on my palm with wedding ring and piece of string (does it matter if it is done on palm or wrist? - as on YouTube they do it on palm) and it was freaky!!!
I have done the test twice and both times the ring went in circles, paused, back and forth, paused, circles, paused, back and forth and stopped. So girl, boy, girl, boy. I tried it on my friend today and she has two daughters. It indicated girl, girl, girl, boy!! I want to try it on everyone now, it's amazing. I'm recording the results to look back on in the future and see whether the ring was accurate or not.

OK - i have done the ring test over my belly before, but now i am off to find some cotton to do it on my wrist. Does it stop inbetween babies or just change???
I didnt know you could do all babies that way.
Wow.
Will be back in a bit!
OK - over belly it says girl
over wrist it says girl then boy then i think another boy but wasnt sure coz i got a coughing fit (damn peanut brittle!)
I guess we will see in 6 weeks!
I had this done a few years ago and it came up as nothing!! the lady doing it had 100% on all she had done.
I just done it again now with Dh and although i thought mine came up at first and then did DH and his was the same - now just tried again and mine is nothing again and Dh is only faint ???
Guess thats why im still doing IVF
I have done the ring test too. It swings in circles for a girl and back and forth for a boy. I can't remember what happens in between, whether it stops or just changes... Whenever I do a "reading" for people I ask to use their ring and a hair from their head, but I find that actually it works with just about any dangling object, e.g. I have even used a key on a chain once. It is mostly accurate, although one of the last readings I did was for a friend who had one DD. She told me before I started that she didn't think that she would have any more children, and sure enough her reading showed one girl and nothing else. I was most surprised to hear from her a few months later telling me that she was pregnant! I'm not sure if I had pulled the ring away too soon, believing her that she wouldn't have any more kids or what, but now she has a lovely DS too. So it's not always 100% reliable.
When I did the test, the ring first moved in circles then really slowed down until it just about stopped then started moving again to swing back and forth and so on. In the end it showed that I'll be supposedly having a girl, boy, girl, boy. It now has me thinking, I'm excited and worried.
I am only really planning to have 3 children as I think I may run out of time to have a fourth. Now I'm worried that I may miscarry or something with a future pregnancy, or I may go on to have four children (maybe even twins next?!) which would be wonderful. Silly ring, it makes us think too much! It is truly amazing how the ring moves and is a very interesting concept but I don't think that it would be really 100% reliable - after all it is a ring - how can we determine whether a ring can forsee our future??!!
