Implantation bleeding - what does it look like?

I have googled this and I just can't find any information apart from that it's like a light period. This is a bit TMI so don't read it if you're squeamish - Last night I saw a tiny bit of pink blood on the TP when I went to the loo. Today, there's pink blood on my pad and when I go to the toilet, there's light red blood and a reasonable amount of tacky, clear mucous, but no clots. If it doesn't turn into a period tonight, I'll get a pregnancy test.

Does this sound like implantation bleeding or a wonky period? I'm breastfeeding and have only had one proper period, starting on the 19th of Dec.

Any idea?

I always thought implantation bleeding can be anything from a very light to a medium bleed, but not as heavy as your period.

I know thats not much help!

I had an implantation bleed, it was just after I went to the loo, and was a watery bright red blood. It only happened once and I thought it was AF coming - which never did!

I would say if you haven't got AF yet do a test. Do you know how many days post ovulation you are?

I've only had it with my first two pg's and it just looked like very light spotting, slightly brownish and a slight increase in CM.

It could just be that you are getting AF again, sometimes they aren't terribly regular if you are still fully BF.

Baby socks - if it is implantation, then it would be too early to do a HPT.... I would wait 3 days to allow your hcg to rise adequately first before you test otherwise you may get a BFN when in reality you are actually UTD (so to say).

I was pregnant for a short time in Nov and I had implantation bleeding around 8dpo and I remember it was very light light pink spotting on loo paper when I wiped and that was it.... oh and had some cramps with it too!

Thanks, ladies. The bleeding has stopped now! How weird is that?! It was a very small amount anyway, not even worth using a pad for and I only really saw it when I went to the toilet. Renstar - I was just gonna post and ask if it was too soon to do a pregnancy test, thanks :D

I don't know when I ovulated to be honest, I'm not someone who can tell just from how my body feels, ykwim? I've only had one period since I gave birth so I haven't established a pattern yet. Is it normal to have mucous discharge during implantation bleeding?

It started again! It's red now, and there seems to be a fair bit of it, but still only when I wipe - not on my pad (sorry TMI again!). I told DP to wait another day before buying a pregnancy test, since its heavier than before perhaps its just a wonky BF period. Fingers crossed but!

I bought a pregnancy test then the bleeding increased (small amount of pink blood on the pad, red blood when I wipe - TMI again sorry) so I figured I'm not pregnant. Hmm. If my bleeding doesn't increase tonight, I'll take the test tomorrow.

I`ve got the misunderstanding if what I had could be an implantation bleeding or not. I read a lot info in google and if to believe all that is written I have all symptomps of IB, but you never know. I always have regular cycle, that`s why I know when to wait for my periods, although this time nearly a week before my period I started light spotting only when wiping. It lasted 3 days and finished. So it`s was still 3 days before the start of my menstruation. I usually have strong PMS symptomps, but this time is nothing. I`m really confused. I tried to make the test the day the spotting stopped, but it was negative, so I really don`t know what was that and if it`s possible that I experienced IB.

Does somebody experienced sth like that? I`m really worried :wall:

hello, just wanting some advice, i think i may have implantation bleeding, my periods were 5 days late, when i notice pinkish/brownish bleeding, i dont think its a normal period as i usually have really bad cramps the day before i get my periods, and this time i had none. i have taken a home test which came back neg., but i think its to soon to tell, can anyone tell me how long "implantation bleeding' will last, and if it really is 'implantation bleeding'

Hi ema_tracey, hmm not sure if yours is implantation. Before my BFP I had brown spotting for quite a few days when AF was due, it was light and only required a panty liner. Then I had one bit of bright red blood which was only the amount of a small nose bleed if that helps??

Do you need a panty liner or pad? Is it more brown or red like blood?

i have a pad on, but its only a very small amount of brownish on the pad.
its the 3rd day now that i have had this small amount of bleeding, i have a few cramps on the first day last at nite, but nothing like a normal period pains

i had implantation bleeding with DD about 3 days before AF would have been due and yeah thought it was the beginning of AF (i usually spot on the day before...). It lasted for about 4-5 days. and wasnt really enough for a pad, so i put on a panty liner (and it too was a bit OTT for such a small amount of bleeding. because of this i assumed however, that it was AF and didnt take a test until i was about 6 weeks along...(when the nausea kicked in!).

like i have said before, this is the 3rd day i have had *very* light bleeding, and it seems to be getting lighter, i have no cramps or any sort of pain, and with a normal period i am usually have cramps for the first 2 or 3 days, and i usually alot heavier bleeding.

yeah this is how it was for me. at the time had no idea that implantation bleeding even existed! so i thought it was just the prelude to AF (did cross my mind that it was taking a long time to actually come). then it just stopped and i had nothing. it wasnt until all the other pre-AF symptoms remained (ie sore boobies, crabbiness at DH, tiredness etc) that i smelt a rat LOL....

LOL..... yea well i didnt know it even existed either, i was just looking around online and found info about it, and it sounded like what i was having. I have stopped freaking out know i have more info on the subject, my partner not being home when i first notice the bleeding didnt help.

Sounds promising then! I got cramps with mine, they continued until about 17 wks pg though so don't be worried if you do get cramps with the spotting. When are you going to test again????

i think i am going to test on monday, or should i just wait till the bleeding stops?
i really dont know??? At the moment there is almost no bleeding at all, so Monday will proberly be a go..

Well the bleeding have completely stopped.... so yea monday will be a go.... i dont kno if i can wait... haha even tho it is only one a day... ha ha

i have done a test, but it came back neg. i think its lying... i have been sick today, and was sick yesterday, so i am going to go to the doc tomorro and get a blood test done.

Aww, ema_tracey :hug: BT could be wrong if its too early. A friend of mine recently had a -ve BT and is now 14 weeks preg! Do you know when you ovulated?

i ovulated around the 18th, so i dont think its to early, but i was speaking to a friend of mine and she said she had 2 blood test and 4 home test all come back neg, now she is due in feb. so i dont know.... i am really confussed.
I have been having a lot of symptons, like i have spotting ( there is no way it could have been a normal period as i usaually have really bad cramps, really heavy bleeding and i had none of them)
i have been feeling sick, and been sick for the last 3 days and feeling really tired.
So i really dont know....
I guess we just have to wait and see..... and if so be... try again

I had it with my second bub - it was just literally a bit of a spot when I wiped. I had it once at 7dpo and once on 8dpo and that was it. I got a faint bfp on 11dpo.

also wondering about implantation bleeding and if any tests are better for "earlier" than others?

Hi there with the first pregnancy I just had sort of light brown spotting which lasted a day. Had a beautiful little girl. Then last week same thing for one day then followed by light bleed for 2 days and had a - preg test then babck to brown spotting for a day and a + test :dance: now I had another light bleed in the morning and the doctor said everything is fine. I think its just anything different to your norm eg lighter or shorter cycle...
