HPT v's Dr PT- help?

Help required! I'm a bit confused ATM.
I used a discover HPT and got a BFP.
I went to the doc for a BT this morning & he got me to do a PT first (not sure what brand it was but was told it was super sensitive).
It returned a BFN, so i didn't get my BT.

Has anyone had this and turned out to be UTD?

I haven't been in this situation, but I do know that you are more likely to get a false negative than a false positive. The doctor should have taken your word for it and done the BT. I would be testing again with a different brand of HPT and see what happens.

Thanks Bon. I am def.keeping HPT's in business. I would have felt better with BT. He said we wouldn't do it until his test was positive.

Sandy, i would take antother test and go see a new doctor!

If that is the level of care they are providing now what kind of care will tehy be providing late on?

I say take another test & see a new doctor & request the BT be done.

Hoping the Dr's test was wrong...

Thanks girls. I think I might go out and buy more tests.

Did you do the drs test first frist mornig urine? It's possible that it didn't pick up at the drs because the concentration wasn't high enough.

You could go to another dr, and if they ask you to do a pee test there just say you didn't expect to have to do a pee test so you don't actually have to use the loo, but you've done one at home and its positive and you would like BT confirmation.

I just did another test! Crystal clear.
And it is still coming up pos.
I tried to ring the doc to demand BT & they are at lunch. I will try again soon.
I'm going crazy!

Sweet BT is needed is there another doc you can call?

If you go back to the same dr I recommend taking your tests with you so you can show him/her that yours are actually positive, they can't argue with that and then they'll have to send you for a BT.

Great to hear about the second positive test!!
I agree that you should take those with you to the Dr's & tell them you don't need to do another test as your UTD you just need your BT done now. Dont take no for an answer this time.
I dont understand your Dr getting you to do another PT when you've already told him you got a positive HPT. Does he not believe you can tell the difference between one & two lines on your test at home?? My doctors have always just taken my word for it & done the BT straight up.
Try to see a different doc....

He was lovely & I got my BT straight away.

Thank you everyone for pushing me to get back to the doc and have BT.
I made sure I told the new doc to tell the old doc about the results!
I think he should apologise for my traumatic day!! (and maybe consider switching brands of PT's):)

My doc always says they are very good but does a test anyway, for the sake of it i suppose, and never does a BT! glad you got a good Dr that knew what to do.
