Chewy chocolate chip cookies
im soooooooo addcited to betty crockers but they are costing me a fortune cause i have em so often does any one know of a recipe thats just as good
yep, made a ripper batch today...I'll go and get the recipe and post tonight.
This is the recipe I use... it is brilliant and it has no eggs.
Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies
• 250g butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 can condensed milk
• 3 cups sifted self raising flour
• 1 packet of chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar. Add condensed milk and stir. Then add flour, chocolate chips. Mix through. Roll into balls, place on biscuit tray and bake for 12-15 minutes at 190C.
Yum!
ETA - I have also taken out a 1/4 cup of the flour and added cocoa in its place to make chocolate, choc chip cookies which were yummo too.
Bill Granger Chocolate Chip Cookies
125g unsalted butter softened
1 1/4C tightly packed brown sugar
1tspn vanilla essence
1 egg lightly beaten (I don't beat it)
1 1/2C plain flour
1/2tspn baking powder
pinch salt
1 1/2C chocolate bits
Preheat oven to 180
place butter and sugar in a bolw and beat until light and creamy
add vanilla and egg and stir to combine (I just turn the beaters down to the lowest)
Stir in the sifted (not) flour, baking powder and salt.
Fold through chocolate chips
Place spponfuls of mixture onto a greased baking tray (allow for much spreading).
It says to cook for 15-20min but I only let them cook for 10 - to pale gold.
Allow to cool on tray for 5 minutes before onto wire rack to cool.
These are magnificent warm with a big glass of milk!
Oh yum they both look great!! I might make both lots next week LOL
omg sooo unfair lol im hungry thank you
OMG I just made the first ones and I could have sat and ate the whole bowl of mixture raw!!! DH says they are the best choc chip bikkies he has ever had.
so Making these tomorrow.. DELISH
Glad you like them MrsMac, they're a definitely family favourite. Nestles have a similar recipe but I don't like theirs as much because from memory it uses less condensed milk.
My kids always come and steal some of the butter, sugar and condensed milk mix and always tell me they want to try it on pancakes! lol
Oh by the way... this mixture freezes really well too because there's no eggs in it... I usually make up 2 batches, one to cook and one to freeze... I roll the mix up into a sausage shape, and wrap in cling wrap and put it into the freezer. All you have to do then is cut out some rounds of cookie dough and cook them... easy :)
Great idea about freezing, I might do that next time although seriously one batch is more than 1/2 gone in less than 24 hours LOL I took a few to work and everyone who had one wants the recipe. I didn't have enough cho bits but the biscuit themselves are so nice they don't need them.
Hmm...really good with chunks of roasted hazelnut added to the mixture too...
Wow I'll be giving them both ago, shouldn't wave the choc chip recipie infront of the pregnant woman, who has no food control at the moment!!! YUMMO!!!
Thanks!!!!:cryinglaugh:
Snoopea
*drools* Sounds great! Pity we always eat our choc chips before we get the chance to make cookies! :P
My kids want some peanut butter chips in them... I going to get some from USA foods and give it a try.
Oh, the one thing I really liked about this recipe is that when I was pregnant with Harrison, I could still eat the cookie dough cause it has no eggs! So good for pregnant cravings.
Lisa, just made your cookies and they are FABULOUS!!!! :D
Have some on the bench, and some in the oven as we speak ;)
Am wishing now I divided the mix & added the cocoa like you suggested so I had both types to try!!
Oh well, will have to make some more tomorrow ;)
I'm sure these ones will be gone as soon as Luke walks in the door from school and DH from work...
I am currently eating the last one of the batch I made late tuesday!!! They are addictive, be careful Holly LOL
Glad you like them too Holly :)
I agree with MrsMac, they are sooooo addictive!
I am blaming any weight gain solely on YOU Lisa!!
Sadly I am already planning my next batch, I may put tiny m&ms in them.
Hahaha Mrsmac!!!
I've done the little M&M's too... they're really good!
I am planning triple choc ones for today. I am making the choc cookies, with dark & white choc chips :)
