Today is day 1 of toilet training!
We are sitting on the potty with chocolate milk and a biscuit as we speak. And we have a jar of lollies for once its happened LOL!
We've been meaning to do it for a few weeks, but things have just got in the way, so now its do or die LOL! Not really but I thought we should start it becuase he is slightly obsessed with it and has been taking nappies and alerting me to bodily functions for a while.
LOL - good luck! I need to take the plunge too. Tallon actually took some wipes and went to his room, removed his nappy & wiped his own bum the other day. Now.. if that isn't a sign he's ready, I dunno what is! LOL.
but I thought you were training ages ago? Didn't you post another thread?
Let us know how you go :) I think I'm almost ready to train too (it's been me more than him putting it off LOL) so I've just gotta stick him in undies and do it. Pullups make me lazy :)
ETA: lol at you sitting at the computer while he's on the loo. Tallon actually tells me to go when he's on the loo.. doesn't want an audience!

I'm actually sitting next to him. He's sitting on the potty in the kitchen so he can watch the TV from here. ;)
LOL. I'm thinking of getting a WeeMan thing for him to be able to go standing up LOL.
We're not going to do the potty, we're gonna go straight to the toilet.. I'm struggling with the idea of training him once.. let alone having to train again from potty to toilet hehe.

Nup not yet he's now building train tracks with his pants off, I'm constantly watching for the pre-wee stiffy. I did straight to toilet with Paris and it worked perfectly but my gf did potty to toilet with her son and it worked perfectly so I'm not too worried.

Yeah, both work.. just me getting my head around the amount of work it feels like LOL.
You're a domestic goddess ;) if I stick him in undies, or let him run nudie, and he wees.. what's the best way to clean up? That's another thing that's putting me off.. wee on the carpet, wee on the furniture.... ugh.
I would use super absorbent towels (like terry cloth nappies). Then you can put orange spray or make up a solution with disinfectant and water and spray that on or blot it on, then use more towels to absorb it. I often find phonebooks work a treat at helping to absorb stains (putting them on top of the cloth). Then once you're all trained just get your carpets cleaned.
No wee's yet!

Yasin fell off the loo :( so we've had a big step backwards there and I just can't deal with cleaning up after two at the moment.

How's it going? Full time undies yet? :)
I've decided that the next school holidays is when I'm going to stick Tallon in some undies and train him. That way we don't have to go out too much, no music lessons or swimming or anything for a couple of weeks.
We stopped as we all got gastro *yay* will probably start again tomorrow as its the weekend. But I also don't think he'll be *that* quick LOL! I don't know any that are... Paris was in full time undies in 2 weeks, then at nights after about 3 weeks but I was told she was a freak LOL!
Oh no. I had gastro last weekend, thankfully no-one else in the family got it. Hope you're all feeling better!

Well after nearly a month later (we wanted to wait till second week of hols as we are free) we have started again, and so far so good :) He's doing waaaaaay better than he did last time we tried. So far he's done about 5 wee's in the toilet/potty since this morning. He likes the toilet better than the potty, but I make him sit in front of the telly on the potty when he's watching so he doesn't have an accident. Each time he has taken himself when he needed to go so I actually think he's got it. He is doing little wee's though, so its like when his bladder can't take it anymore he'll go LOL! But the fact that he's initiating it is great. BUT this is day 1, so I'll get back to you tomorrow. I'll be going to get cheapy pull ups tomorrow for when we have to duck out. But so far so good.

He's just like his sister, he has taken to it like a fish to water.
He had a sleep with a nappy on, and there was a small amount of wee in it. Then when he woke up he's done another BIG wee on the potty. And all day there has been NO accidents. I'm so proud of my little man :) What a legend :D
