Single and pregnant
Hi ladies I am new to this forum and Belly Belly.
Let me introduce myself. I'm 25, single and 22w3d pregnant for the first time and having a little boy who I be naming Ryley David and due 6th January 2009.
Well my situation is the father doesn't want to know right from the start we were only were having a casual relationship and we don't love each other or anything and he wanted me to get rid of it but obviously didn't. Lol. And I haven't heard from from him the last time was when I was 12 weeks and I saw him (we live in the same town town). Now I am living at home with my parents and is lucky to get some baby stuff of friends.
I just wanna hear from other pregnant and single ladies who like me have to sit at home and be bored while friends are out partying or with their boyfriends or with their DH and their kids. I know I should be grateful that I am carrying a healthy and active little man. I just hate being bored. Lol.
Kirsten.

Hey there and welcome to BB,
While im not single, and im also not pregnant, i totally know where your coming from, to an extent. Im sitting at home, mostly bored, when im not on my toes running after my bubba!! I wouldnt really have it any other way, apart from maybe having a few more friends to go out to coffee with, but i like my BB friends and support, keeps me occupied for hours on end, especially during the weeks Ben is at work.
Im happy to chat, you can add me to MSN if you wish, up the top of this post in the right hand corner u will see a little man with a blue shirt, click on him and itll give you my MSN details :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy.
You could join a Belly Buddy group on here, they may not necessarily be single but they will be at a similar stage of pregnancy to you!
I'm sure you will find heaps to do on here :)
Good luck for a happy and healthy pregnancy :)

Hey.
I'm not single or pregantn any more, but I was 14 when I was raped and fell pregantn with my son and I know what you mean when you talk about being bored!
When I stopped going to school, i think the highlights of my days were lying on the sofa throwing things at my brothers. lol not really but It seems like that.
Some of my 'friends' didn't want to be seen with me in public so I didn't do much venturing out of the house, but I did and still do have my closest buddies, as well as my half sister and my cousins, who didn't really give a stuff what anyone else thought.
Congrats and good luck with the pregnancy!

I am about to become a single mum too, due in 4 weeks time.. Do you feel like people judge you for being single? I've found it hard going to classes when they continuiously take about husbands and the importance they play.
It's taken me by surprise how many people are surprised when I say i'm single! They look at me, like, 'wow, single eh?'...
Hope you find the support of BB helpful! I've only jsut stumbled across it and it's been great so far. :)

flyingk8-Yeah I get so where is your partner all the time and I am not sure if I will go to classes..one I don't drive and they are all at night..I'm just lucky to have support from family and friends and BB as well..I'm much happier being single don't have to answer to myself and I don't talk to Ryley father at all so screw him..
Congrats and good luck :D

I found antenatal classes quite negative, but I started CalmBirth class last week and it is the first positive thing I've had towards birth -i'm loving it & highly recommend it! It is worth every cent and covers everything antenatal classes cover, and more (all the good stuff!!)! :)
BellyBelly run classes in Cnaterbury if you're interested :)
Congrats to you for being on this journey as a single mum too! It takes strength and determination and self-belief, that's for sure.

Hi Kirsten, I did try to send you a private message but can't.
I have a wordrobe full of baby clothes (that I have kept for who knows why!!!), are you interested in anything? I can post you a selection if you are interested. No charge just let me know and we can sort it out.

When I was young and single with a baby (allll those years ago lol), I got sick of people assuming the worst so I just lied my butt off! What does it matter to half these idiots that will do nothing for you and your bubs but enjoy judging others for something to do or gossip about?
You can say he's overseas 'on a big contract'. Peacekeeping in *insert location, or if they are the really nasty type tell them babys father was killed in a tragic accident (on the eve of your wedding for even more fun!) - cue tears.
Otherwise you can tell them it turned out he was a right w@nker and you couldn't imagine going any further with him like some people you know who stay in a crap relationship 'cos they are too scared to do it on their own...
-
Krisp-Oh wow thank you..That would be wonderful to have a look at...Yeah I tried to send a PM as well and couldn't..
Lulu-Yeah I just say to the relatives and say that the daddy has gone overseas for a couple of years and that kinda works..Lol. But some people I tell him he just did the deed and left..Lol. I haven't heard from him for months...

Thanks Kirsten! ..I'm going to miss being pregnant I think -i've got so used to it, but I can't wait to give my little girl cuddles once she arrives into the big wide world!
Am really looking forward to the birth too.. which is a pleasant change in the last week as before that I was scared of the experience. It's amazing, the power of the mind!
I was thinking.. As you are due three months after me if you don't mind hand-me-downs I'd be more than happy to pass anything on to you (that's not pink!)! :o)
Do you have friends/family to help out with hand-me-downs etc and for support? I'm looking forward to meeting other mums as none of my friends have children..
-
Yoyr welcome Kate :D Yeah I am so used to having him kicking me every single day and at night when I am trying to sleep but I definitely miss that's for sure..Yeah I heard many horror stories myself and yeah kinda scared and nervous but they have to come somehow. Lol.
My friend had a little boy last year and gave me heaps of 000 boys clothes and a bassinet, I also got a pram, port-a-cot and high chair for nothing as well..Hand me downs are a great start I reckon and yes and thats not pink..Lol. Thank you. I'm due January 6th and most friends of mine are mums already and only have a few who aren't..

Dear RZSB, I'm so sorry to hear that.
We are strong single women, and we can do just about anything on our own. Go down to Centrelink and tell them what's happened, then file with Child Support Agency so you can make sure you get what you're entitled to.
Best wishes.
