Just thought I'd let you girls know that I'm STILL WAITING!!
Little Cooper doesn't want to come out!!
Oh, the waiting is torture hey!!! Good luck, I hope Cooper decides to come out and meet you soon!!
Hang in there hon! I went 10 days over so I know how very, very hard that time is.
Best wishes for birth!
thankyou..
Im going through hell and back with the hospital... Cant wait till i never have to go back there
So you are only 40 weeks and 4 days and yet the hospital is giving you a difficult time? By their own definitions - the medical definition of a full term pregnancy is 37-42 weeks. Tell them you'll be open to discussion after you've reached full term : )
I'm sure little Cooper wants to come out and will do so when he is ready for the world! Have a massage, kick back and wait. You'll have your baby in your arms soon enough and then you won't need go back there! If they are bothering you that much, you could also look into homebirth (even at this late point in your pregnancy).
Come on out little man!!!
My DD2 was comfy as well...but finally made her appearance at 40+5
Ive been having a difficult pregnancy.. and have basically had to make the hospital my second home...
Blood Pressure issues (Pregnancy induced) stop me from having a home birth... Plus.. I live with my parents.. and brothers.. so that kinda puts a stop to it too.....
Can I still ask for an elective c-section?
I know how you feel - I went to 40+11! What helped me was acupuncture - had a fantastic acupuncturist who set up three sessions and after the second one I went into labour. If you're in Sydney and interested let me know and I will PM you details.
good luck!
ETA - bummer I see you're in Victoria.... but still GL and hope he comes soon for you.
Thanks.
Almost 6 weeks ago now his estimated weight was almost 8lb.....
I am going to request an ultrasound on Monday and then discuss a c-section.. because i think hes just going to be "too big"
nearly 8lb 6 weeks ago? wow no wonder u want him out.. like now!!!
damn doctors some days they are just so clueless..
banx they estimated my bub 37 wks 10pound... he came out at 7ld 6n.... so the only accuret measuring is ultrasound.... so good luck with that hun
bloody hospitals.....
Don't count on it.
They can't tell you the weight of your baby til they have him on the scales.
Don't go for an unnecessary c/s if you don't have to.
My DD1 was born at 41+1wks, & my DD2 was 41wks.
Both my labours started naturally.
My DD1 was 7lb 5oz. I was told DD2 would be smaller.
8lb 9oz. Not even close!
Good luck.
*labour vibes*
Hope he makes his way soon.
BTW Alot of first babies go over due coz your cervix is closed tight. It has to to a little bit more work than with subsequent babies. After your first it will usually stay around 2cm open.
Your cervix may just be preparing itself right now.
He is MASSIVE... and I just don't think hes going to .... well.. "FIT" through my pelvis.. especially if hes gained alot of weight in the last 6 weeks
Do u girls think I'm being a bad mum for wanting him out before hes "ready"?
no definately not... we all go threw it towards the end ENUF is ENUF! time to get the ball rolling
I had period like pain for 4 days.....
Its all of a sudden stopped today and now i have NOTHING.. I guess im just getting frustrated..
For those of you that dont know my "Story"... Ive been suffering with High Blood Pressure and protein in my urine thats been coming and going.. so they have diagnosed it as Pregnancy Induced Hypertension with possibility of Pre-eclampsia and premature birth..
Ive been in and out of hospital about 9 times and at hospital for Blood pressure, CTG and urine tests every 2 days since 28 weeks and bloods once a week..
Its been interesting.. but now... since he has reached 40w... Im saying.. Enough is Enough!
Have you tried any natural remedies yet?
Like walking? DTD? Anything?
Sounds like things may be starting slowly anyway.
I walk to the end of the block and back each day (My feet, ankles, legs, knees are ALL IN ONE....) The amount of swelling makes it almost impossible to walk any further... and feels like needles stabbing into them as i do it.
Warm baths... once sometimes twice a day
Nipple stimulation.. up to 5 times a day for 10 minutes at a time
DTD... haha - I WISH!.. DP wont do it for some reason...
Foot Massage - DP massages them before bed every night as the swelling makes it unbearable to have doona laying on top of me as it presses into my feet/legs (yes a doona.. light and airy hurts my legs and feet..)
Orgasm - Once a day... for the last 2 weeks...
Hot Chilli Food... tried this once.. all it did was gave me massive reflux and diarrhea...
Im seriously out of ideas for natural remedies!
Actually DTD might help.
His stuff has special 'stuff' in it to help ripen your cervix.
Tell him not to worry about bubs. He won't know what's going on!
Hi Banx,
Hope your little/big man decides to enter the world very soon.
Regards,
Dianne
I've talked to DP about DTD...
He just says it doesn't "seem right" and that he just "doesn't want to do it" ...
But he cant explain to me WHY he doesn't want to..
He says he knows it wont hurt bub... but still wont.. I just wish he would have a look and see how much i'm struggling right now and that I will try ALMOST ANYTHING to meet our son
Obviously within reason.. i don't want to hurt him or myself
Is eating a WHOLE CHOCOLATE MUD CAKE a natural way to bring on labor?? I hope so... Cos I'm trying that one now!! haha
You can experiment for us all!
Your DH might feel that its wrong coz the baby's 'there'.
Alot of men feel that way. Maybe you could gently ask him if thats the problem?
Yeah. I just kinda stopped asking/ talking about it because I knew it made him feel uncomfortable.
We are kinda disagreeing at the moment... he has the Lazy/ Laid back approach to having the room clean (live with my parents at the moment)
Where as I'm doing the whole "nesting" thing and wanting everything PERFECT for when bub finally arrives..
So we just had a "disagreement" ... fun stuff at the end of pregnancy ay :)
Wish it was like the TV shows/ Movies... All perfect and Lovey dovey!
Yeah right. Lovey Dovey for about 10 minutes here.
All I'd have to do is look at DH the wrong way & he'd be waiting in bed for me. No matter what!
You'll get there. Promise.
yeah before i was pregnant... we used to DTD whenever we wanted... min 5 times a week.. so I have no doubt that after bub is out and everything's settled down that things will pick up a little bit :)
Thank you so much for all your advice.
Do u think I'm a bad mum for wanting to be induced/ c-section asap?
Obviously it wouldn't happen for another 4 days at least.. so I'm hoping he comes on his own before then.. I just want to "KNOW" when its going to be "over"
When I was pg with DD1 the OB booked me in for an induction. He booked it 2 days before my due date, for a few days after I was due.
I knew nothing, went out & told mum coz I was so excited. I was going to have my baby soon!
Well mum cracked it. 'How dare he do that. You don't need an induction, he just wants his money!'
Mum was induced with me I think. Labour started, but didn't really go anywhere, so induction happened.
So she wasn't letting me go there with out good reason.
She took me home & made me ring my gp & talk to him about it. My gp mentioned than he wouldn't even consider an induction til after 10 days, unless necessary. He rang my OB, found out there was no reason for it, so I didn't do it.
DD came in her own time 8 days over due.
So I was definetely the same!
Then I went a week over with DD2. When I had a few pains & they kept coming & going, DH & I went for a looong walk. 5 kms.
Labour got under way that evening.
I refused to go over again with DS, so I walked for the last 2 weeks about 1 km every night.
Then I woke up one morning & had 2 contractions. That was IT!
I walked 2.5 kms that night & he was born the next morning.
He was born 2 days early.
So I swear by walking, but everyone is different.
Have you been trying raspberry leaf tea? One of the mw I know said make a cup with 2 tea bags in it and drink it really strong, it helped a friend of mine.
Driving over speed humps is supposed to work "they" reckon LOL
IKWYM about being over it and I have never even gone a day overdue, my hat is off to you, I would have been screaming for an induction with my 1st if I was you. (I had one with my 1st- long labour then forceps and episiotomy- not good)
GL, can't wait to see birth announcement.
My GP is shocked that they haven't induced me....
With my blood pressure issues it goes up and down... for example.. Yesterday it was 180/90 and then 10 minutes later it was 138/88 then 10 minutes after that it was 145/77..
It makes me dizzy, massive headaches, blurry vision and spots.. Also gives me nausea because when i walk or read or watch tv/ computer... it makes me feel a bit queezy..
I really do want bub to come on his own.. but at the same time.. I had the "period" like pains for 4 days.. now nothing.. I just don't know what to think between the different doctors telling me different things! I just want ONE answer, ONE type of care.. not 30 million!! (over reaction of course hehe)
Trust me, from someone who's had a csection its not something you *want* unless it's absolutely necessary I'd give anything to be able to have given birth naturally
I've heard from a number of people that having a c-section is not that much worse than having appendix out.
I had that when i was 14.. so i think i can cope with c-section at 21 :P
But you are right... I don't want one really... which is why I'm giving my son extra time :) I just wish he would come meet us already!!
My first baby was born at 42 weeks
second was born 36 weeks
third was born at 41 weeks
The doctors were never concerned, I was very uncomfortable so I understand on how you feel:hug: for you.
4 and 5 baby they will only let me go to 38 weeks.
I can't help you with any remedies as I tried everythink with my first I just had to wait and go naturally.
I hope your little man comes soon
Cathie
A c/s might feel like having your appendix out, but it's risky. & you risk your baby & future birth/babies.
Obviously if its for the best, then its for the best.
Maybe your experiencing the calm before the storm??
I reckon have a strong cup of RLT, go for a long walk, go home & put your feet in a bucket of coolish/warm water for the swelling, then prop some pillows under your feet & doze off.
Try to DTD first, but either way.
All 3 of my labours started while I was asleep after a fair bit of walking.
Any show or plug yet?
I've never known anyone to say they're the same thing. Not to mention, as bjrose has said the risks involved. It was honestly the most traumtatic thing i have ever been through in my life. And it's been almost 5 months and i'm still recovering. Not to mention the fact as bj has also said the risk for future babies.
I don't want a c-section..
I'm Soooo hoping that this is the calm before the storm.
I'm going to Vac and Mop all the floors in the house (we have a steam mop) and then have a warm/ hot bath and then put my feet up and have a sleep..
I don't want to leave the house incase I need to stop or sit down... Plus its dark as outside!!
Just thought. I did that the day before I had DS.
Went to town with MIL all day, swept, vacced & mopped ALL her floors, then did the long walk.
It worked.
Let us know!
Lol just had some friends show up and im in my pjs.. hehe ooops
Will be doing some late night cleaning apparently hehe
having some dinner now, then will get cracking on the cleaning :)
Maybe late night cleaning will do the trick.
Im hoping :)
Gonna vac and then steam clean the floors :)
I also have 2 loads of washing to hang up and DP's work uniform to iron..
then ill have a bath and then pop into bed and watch tv till i fall asleep :)
Fingers crossed
Good luck, hope the cleaning works. I know exactly how you feel, I have had one baby go 5 days over and one go 10 days over, one right on the due date...it's no fun! Luckily my last little bub was 5 days early, hehe, that was a lovely suprise.
