Hi All
Does anyone else have a tidy up down there before an internal? I usually have a trim and a shower. I have an internal ultrasound on thursday so I had my normal trim today, and I cut my labia! Oh God it hurts

OUCH !!!! That will teach you for fiddling around down there ......;)
I have never had to have an internal (lucky me) but every time I have an appointment I always tidy up so to speak jsut in case they are going to have a look! I am sure they have seen all types though! Good luck for your ultrasound :)
Ouchies... Wait till you get a big 9 month belly to work around!
haha thats funny. i cleaned up everytime i went for an appointment just incase they wanted to have a look. but the day i went into labour i was sitting on the toilet trying to shave with a mirror, looked hilarious i had to get my husband to do it as it was too hard with huge belly in front covering the view
I didnt bother!!!! Was last thing on my mind!!!!
The OB and midwife's dont care honest!!!
I had great intentions of having a good tidy up done before the birth........well lo and behold, my DS came 5 weeks early, and it was like a forest down there LOL! It was too hard trying to do it myself with a big belly, so I was saving it for the waxer ;)
It was the last thing I was concerned about while in labour though
I don't remember the story well, not even where I read it, but everytime I walk into my gyne's office .. I think of it ;)
The lady were late for her gyne appointment and did not have time to shower, so she just grabed her washcloth that were on the bath's side and made quick "wash-and-go", grabed her dd (about 6) while she was doing some art-work and ran out the house. When her ob first had a look, she could not help but noticed that he had a strange smile on his face, she did not bother, later when he told her, in a joking manner, that he feels flatterd for the time she took to prepare for him, she did not really take note.
Later that night she was chatting with her dd while the dd was in the bathtub .. she took the facecloth that she just threw in the sink earlier the day and started washing it out .. just to notice ... GLITTER all over her hands and sink and washcloth. Then her dd said: "I'm sorry I used your wash-cloth to clean up my artwork ... I could not reach mine"
CAN you imagine??
 That is hillarious!!!!
 that is hillarious! Glitter!!!
There is a thread floating around about hair dying down there.
 Think I might glitter up mine too!
I was booked in for a pap smear (not PG at the time) but a few days before I decided on the spur of the moment to get a xxx wax while I was out shopping. I didn't even give the upcoming appointment a thought till that night!
I don't think my Dr had done too many totally waxed ones as she did a double take  It was almost like a classic sitcom type over acted double take!
LMAO at the glitter, how embarassing. Ouchie at cutting yourself, i get waxed so i dont have that problem, which is kinda a good thing cause i couldnt see anything down there atm anyway :S
I usually get bikini wax, 18wks pregnant now and need some waxing just to tidy bits, is it OK to have bikini wax when pregnant?! Just for me, feel much better when its all nice, haven't had any examinations so far in preg.
I am quite sensitive normally and am worried she'll do a bit and have to stop!! Thought I'd get legs done and see what my threshold is at the moment then move on to bikini if its allowed!
Love the glitter story!!
CLH- my step mum got a bikin was the morning that her contractions started! LOL Her waters hadnt broken yet (I dont think you can do it after your waters have broken). Check with the place you get it done if they dont mind doing pregnant people if you are worried.
CLH - its fine to get a bikini wax but be warned it can hurt more than normal, I had a xxx when i was pregnant with DD and it was the most painful wax I have had. The girl doing the waxing before hand warned me it could be worse than normal becuase of increased blood supply to that area. In saying that though I had not had a wax for a while so that didn't help things lol
This time I just shave much less painful and no ingrown hairs so far
I am actually booked in this evening to have the FULL wax (brazillian) done. I am sh**ting myself LOL. But I do like it to look nice and trimmed. Also I have no hope in hell of seeing OMG
Um, that might be mine... Yonks ago I was dyeing my hair purple and decided it would be easier to rinse it in the shower. Wrong...
So I managed to Ajax the dye off the shower and my skin (yes, it hurt a bit), but lets just say that by the time I was done, cuffs and collars matched. It actually looked kinda cute.
Suse- That is hillarious. at least purple is a nice colour! I bet your DP laughed!
Don't worry oscaroscar i've done the same thing and ouch does it hurt! With DS i was really consious of making sure everything was 'nice' down there for my Dr (don't ask me why i'm sure he didn't notice either way) and on a couple of occasions i accidently nicked myself  When it was time to give birth to my DS i actually took the time to shave off everything! Yep full brazillian! I figured it would be nicer for the doctors/midwives when i was in labour so they could see what they were doing  (yeah i know, i know what was i thinking!) mind you it took me ages to do it with a mirror with one foot up and trying to hold onto the wall for balance... not a good look haha
This time round i'm just going to give it a little trim down there but the hair is staying lol.
I couldn't help but laugh at that. Sorry. I remember when I was in the later stages of being preggers and had a tidy up. I couldn't see anything. I went and did this big perade for my husband and he cracked up laughing. I asked what he was laughing at and it turned out that i had missed bits and pieces leaving it quite patchy.
Needless to say I got him to do it next time.
A similar thing happened to my SIL but she knew the Dr well enough for them to have a laugh. After that I always threw the cloths in the washing machine in case it ever happened to me. I still get a giggle when I think of it.
rofl, this cracks me up. I can't see down there anymore and the other day I stupidly decided I could do a bit of a tidy up, not a good idea when you're just guessing what you're doing. Was all proud of myself and then looked in the mirror to find a huge bald patch!!!! pmsl.
ROFL - i've never had a wax 'down there' before but i think i will before go into labour ... might make labour feel better? haha
Funny story i read in a magazine today - i CRACKED up:
Hairy Issues
Are you going to groom 'down there' before the birth? Most forum mums-to-be are opting to get their partners to shave them or will get a professional wax before the big day, but one user, Alisa, had a different experience: "i couldn't afford to get it done professionally, so i bought a pack of wax strips and lay down while my husband helped me put the strips on. He was worried about hurting me but I told him to just do it, so he did - and it hurt so much that I couldn't do the other side. Half of it was missing - I had to give myself a combover!!"
LMFAO
I can't see anything to groom :(
