Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good acupuncturist in Brisbane?
Anywhere in Brissy is fine, I'm able to travel.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sue, Sorry I can't help you, I am Gold Coast based, not sure if you are undergoing any AC treatment, I would suggest if so ask at your clinic, as they should be able to recommend an AD experienced acupunturist. Otherwise hopefully some of the Brissy girls will see your post and respond. Good luck
I would be interested to know the answer to this and in particular if any one has used East West Fertility - we are looking more for the chinese medicine point of view.
Thanks
K
Hey Kasam,
I have actually used East West Fertility once but didn't really feel a connection with the woman there. She has over 20 years experience in acupuncture with fertility but I need to build rapport with the people who help me.
She was a very staid woman with a school teacher approach.
But that is not to say she is very good. I just didn't gel with her. I also told her that I didn't want to take any herbs or anything (I have my own very good naturopath) and she was blunt and told me that I had to. I just didn't feel listened to.
Which is why I'm looking for someone else.
I think that I've found someone though, I went on the Natural Therapy Pages website and found a lovely woman with experience in fertility in my suburb. She is also considerably cheaper than EastWest.
Hope that helps you too.

i have a brilliant accupuncturist in Kenmore, name of Fred walton, the best natural remedies practitioner i have ever been to
Mine is in Capalaba, if you're willing to travel that far. His name is Philip Strong. He has a website too, with all his details. His business (website too) is The Energy Centre.
Best of luck!
There is a great acupuncturist in Brisbane (Indooroopilly) that many of the BB girls have used with great success. Last year I think he was involved in 4 or 5 BB pregnancies! His name is Beau Mannix and the company is Positive Balance. Tell him Candice sent you, LOL.
I go to a great acupuncturist in The Gap - her 'specialty' is ob/gyn, fertility stuff, and she is really really lovely. The clinic is called Lotus Lake, PM me if you want more details :) I love it!!
Just to jump on the bandwagon - does anyone know of a good acupuncturist on the south side of brisbane?
my guy is in capalaba. Philip Strong at The Energy Centre. That's southside! If you come through Mount Cotton it should be quick enough to get there and close enough to you from the Gold Coast... Hth! :)
Thanks for that girls - I am going to give a couple them a call this week.
Sue - the main problem DH and I are having is that DH works 12-13 hours 5 days a week and can only really see someone on weekends - up here (in good ol Gympie town) no one opens Saturday. The lady I am seeing for my acupuncture can only see me during school hours (my lunch hour) - I find her good she just won't work weekends so Brisbane is our answer (and its 2 hours away grrrr) - we found a lady on the Sunshine Coast when we had our first IVF cycle for our transfer treatment and she isn't open on weekends either and won't accomodate us.
Thanks once again for the names girls. Will keep you all posted!!!
I used an acupuncturist called Chiemi at Newstead Holistic Medicine for my last IVF cycle. It was a success, so I can't recommend her highly enough :p
Good luck Kasam, I hope that you find something that suits!
Update - DH and I went and saw Chiemi on Saturday. See is lovely and seemed to know what she was doing. Asked me all different questions about our IVF cycle and I think the good thing about the clinic was that we both had to fill in a big questionniare before we went and then she went through that with us at the begining of the appointment. I think they are great because it gives you time to think before you are "put on the spot". We both had a dose of acupuncture and have been given some lovely tasting herbs to take. We go back in 3 weeks time. She has said it will take about 3 months so we'll see what happens. I feel like we are at least being a bit proactive about it now and doing something towards making it all happen.
Kasam - glad you found someone. As Candice said Beau Mannix at Postive Balance is really lovely and undertanding too if you ever need a back up
PS we are a having a Feb meetup for pur Belly Belly Breakfast Club that any of you ladies are welcome to join

Linda does he do herbs as well?
Yep he does but only if you want to.
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to add my Brissie recommendations to this forum. My DH and I go to Peter at the Healthy Living Centre Red Hill. I have also been to Kirsty Eng at Herston whenever Peter is on leave. She is amazing and a success story herself. Both Peter and Kirsty are friends and classmates of Beau's. They all graduated together and do the same practices.
I have found over the past 10 months of going to Peter that with acupuncture and Chinese Herbs I have been able to balance my cycle and stress levels. So I feel strong enough to give IVF a go now. Am booked in for a consult with Dr Das at City IVF late Jan :o
I agree, Beau at Positive balance is great!!
Jasmine at PinPoint specialises in fertility accupuncture and herbs. Really lovely clinic based at Cannon Hill on Brisbane's southside.
