What do you think? I love slightly masculine names for girls, but hubby and I are really finding it hard to agree on something.

I prefer Dayle as the spelling though :)
I quite like the name but would probably change the spelling to Dayle- just to give it that feminine touch. I once knew a lady whoses name is Dayle and she was very lovely.
Good luck with deciding!
I knew a Dale in my year at high school, she ended up vice-captain ;) A really great name I think. I wouldn't put a 'y' in there personally, probably because I knew a 'Dale' so I don't really see it as an exclusive boys name.
There is a lovely bellybelly lady called Dayl. I think it is great. ;)
Leasha I prefer Dale to Dayle or Dayl too :).
I think Dale is a cute name for a girl! It can definately be swung both ways...
I love Dylan for a girl... Like off Desperate House Wives hehe
Yeah one of our clients is a Dale, and she is lovely.
I like it :) Although my preference would be Dayl - just cos of that strange "y" obsession I have goin on.. lol
I think Dale is beautiful. (I'm not a huge y in names person for some reason)
Do you have other boy/girl names on your list? I love James, am quite partial to Elliott (watched too much Scrubs perhaps), and Cameron is okay too.
We know we are having a girl. I think there is a model named Frank, or is it James??? This is so hard.
I went to school with a chick called Shane..
Love Dale. I had a little friend (1970s) who was called Dale. She grew up lovely too. :)
DS's kinder teacher is Shayne! And I know a Shayna!
I really like all these choice here - Dayle, Elliott, Cameron!
I know a girl called Dale and her husband has a traditionally 'feminine' name so it confuses people sometimes (they think she's him and vice versa) but other than that I like it.
I also prefer Dayle for a girl.
I'm not keen on Dale for a girl, but have you considered Cameron or Jordan? These can both be shortened to more feminine nicknames if she so wishes, Cammy or Jordie.
Just a suggestion :)
There's a female model or something called James. I also love Jolie which could easily be Joel. Joele?
I dont like the name dale for a girl or a boy! lol
But What about Frankie?...I like Cameron for a girl too. You could go the Darryl (Hannah) route too maybe? But I cant imagine Daryl as a girls name - too weird with DH being Daryl lol
i like Dale, but, would probably go Dayle thou..
I went to school with a Jamie, which was i always thought was nice.
Quite liked the suggestion of Jordan.
Dale is lovely. I haven't heard that name for years. I went to school with a Dale and she was just gorgeous. Good luck deciding!:D
Hmm not really my taste (for a boy or a girl) but I'm a big fan of masculine names for girls too.
My personal fav - Francesca with "Frankie" for a nickname :D
Love Dale!! I used to work with a Dala and she was so so lovely
I also know a shane (spelt cheyne)
DH has a cousin Dale (17) and I babysat a little girl last year Dale (2) :)
I met my hairdressers cousin (in her 30's) named Rhian (pronounced like Ryan) ... she said her parents had Ryan picked for a boy ... so hence how she got RHIAN ... she said she has always LOVED her name ;)
I told her my DD was born on her Uncle Ryan's birthday and if i'd heard of it before my DD was born i would have seriously considered one of her two middle names to be Rhian
I prefer Dayle ... over Dale ;)
I use to work with a female named Jaimee (popular girl name in the years mid to late 60's) !!
Another suggestion for a unisex name - it's my FAVOURITE girl name EVER!!
Quinn
I LOVE Dale for a girl. without the Y.
My kinder teacher's name was Dale and she was great.lol from what i remember which is a fair bit.
I'm personally not very keen on Dale- but if you both love it- then why not?
Why don't you google 'unisex' names - you will probably find there are heaps of semi-masculine names for girls that are really nice.
I met a girl the other day called Jayce - which could also be spelt Jaice. Thought that was kinda cute.
I also have a neice Jaimee and a girlfriend called Alex (NOT shortened from Alexis or Alexandra).
How about Shae? It is typically used as a boys name but is now being used for girls too.
Hey !!! My name is Dayl, glad a majority of people in here like it for a girl :lol:
I loved having a boys name and also loved having it spelt a little differently - made me a little unique so go for it !!!!
Hi Oscaroscar
Yep, thats me. I had to change my username because I have referred a few people to this site and didnt feel comfortable discussing intimite and personal pregnancy stuff in front of people who might recognise me via my old username.
Nice to see someone remembers me!!
OK, I'll edit the name out of my previous post :).
Personally I think Dale is better for a boys name only because I have only met boys with the name.
I like Jamie and Cameron :)
I have a neice who is called Dayle, I had never heard it used as a girls name and took me a bit to get used too but now I like it..
I LOVE Jordyn for a girl
I went to school with a girl called Dayle. She never got teased or anything. Personally I like 'pretty' names. But if you like boyish names this one is around and liked
No worries Oscaroscar, you didnt have to do that but thanks anyway ....
Hmm, personally I think it's a bit too masculine. I feel the same way about Dylan and James too actually. I sometimes like boys names for girls though.
