Implantation at 5 dpo?

Can implantation happen at 5 dpo?

I am cd 17 today and 5 dpo aprox, i had a tiny blob of clear cm this morning with a red streak in it, but now when i wiped, the loo paper was a good shade of pink.

Last cycle i had pre O spotting for 3 days at cd20 then i Od on cd24.

I believe i Od on cd12 this cycle as i had ewcm on cd12, cm on cd13 cramping on cd14 and 15, mild cramping cd16 and today cd17.
We only dtd on cd11 in the evening and cd13 really early in the morning.
Af was on feb 10.

Has anybody had implantation spotting on 5 dpo?
Could af be showing up early?
Could i have not Od when i thought and this is now pre O spotting?

Any advice, comments, stories ARE VERY WELCOME.

Anila, I don't want to steal your thunder or anything but... THIS IS THE EXACT SAME THING THAT IS HAPPENING TO ME AT THE MOMENT!! I'm on CD18 though. But I started getting some bleeding yesterday arvo that is pink but has red stringy bits in it as well. This morning it was the same and this afternoon it and pretty much slowed down to just pink with CM clumpy bits in it (sorry for TMI). I'm pretty sure that I O'd on CD12, but then today I had EWCM mixed in with blood so I don't know if maybe I am now and it's O bleeding.

I just don't know what to think either? I would love for it to be implantation but everything I read says it's way to soon, and then I think well perhaps it's my cycle playing up after having a D&C, or maybe AF is horribly early... but it's just not really the same sort of blood as AF... IYKWIM.

Gosh! Well, i'm sort of glad this is happening to someone else. It would be lovely to get a BFP out of all this, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. But you just never know I guess!

I'm not sure if it can happen that early but I'll tell you my story anyway.

I had a spot - and I mean just one spot of old blood on the toilet paper at 7dpo. I never spot mid cycle so that was very odd for me.

I spotted again on 10, 11 and 12 dpo. I literally had one spot (old blood, tiny spot on toilet paper) each day (so three spots in total) and thought AF was on her way. I got my BFP at 14 dpo.

I then had lots of jelly like CM discharge in one drop (sorry for TMI!) 3 days after I got my BFP. I rushed off to the GP who knew straight away what is was and questioned if it had pink streak in it - yes, it did - and he told me it was very normal and my body getting ready to prepare the mucous plug.

So, according to my experience, it does seem a bit early for an implanation bleed like that (ie the mucous type) but I did have a temp dip at 6dpo and spotted bang on 7dpo (textbook material really!) so anything is possible I guess!

Teagz_88, i hope you get ur bfp, my pink did not have any cm in it except for the first dob this morning and the second time it happened, it had a streak of brown, atm it has gone, so i have no idea what is happening. Its like when i had pre O spotting last cycle, but i know i have already od this cycle, good luck and keep me updated on what is going on, i wish u all the best.

Anila, it's funny you say that about the manual. I was thinking the other day how annoying it was when I asked mum something and most of the time she gives me her best answer, but then rounds off with "but I can't really remember" So, in preperation for when I have kids I went out today and bought a nice notebook that I'm going to start writing lifes drama's in. All about my loss, trying to conceive, being pregnant, being female in general, everything. So when my kids asks me something I can give them a exact recount of what I experienced :) I've just got to keep up the motivation to stick to it! ;)

loving the book idea Teagz, kinda wish i had started one myself years ago, i have had 6 pregnancy s in total, 5 babies, and still i can not remember the whole ttc bit and what if any babies i had implantation with etc...

Don't know if this would help but this is my understanding of how things go:

Fertilisation happens ususally 1 day post O because the egg needs to travel down the tube to the waiting sperms.

From fertilisation, the fertilised egg would need 5 days to grow to a blastocyst (day 6DPO)

Implantation could happen at anytime after the blastocyst hatch. That is the reason why they say implantation happens usually 7 - 10 days post O.

I hope that what you are experiencing is truly implantation.

Don't know if this helps but I will tell you my story -

I had a long cycle and can't quite remember what CD I ovulated but I had implantation spotting 6 DPO - pretty much the same as you describe yours. I got a bfp 2 days later on 8 DPO. Very feint but by 9 DPO the line came up instantly and was not so feint.

I worked out my due dates based on my ov date but when I had my ultrasound it said I was 2 days less pg than I thought I was which means I had implantation bleeding 4 DPO and got a bfp 6 DPOs or (as I suspect) the u/s was not very accurate.

Thought that might help you out a bit. Sounds positive what you are describing!!! Hope to hear about a bfp soon!

Thanks for the replys, i have been on google all night and people have said that they had implantation from 5 dpo, so i guess it is definatly possiable, just hope that is what i have been experiancing, no more pink on the loo paper today, for now anyway, but i did have ewcm, just one string and it was red not white, so hoping thats another positive sign.

Townsvillegirl, thats such good news thanks for sharing, i am keeping silently positive, i plan to test on my sons 1st birthday, 10 march, its the day before hubbys 30th , so should make a nice supprise.

only the slightest shade of pink, and i have to look really hard to see it. Still a fair big of CM though, clear and cloudy all mixed in. Icky business this preg stuff sometimes XD

Oooh I hope so ><;; I'm trying not to think to much into it. I'm a bit like you though, confused about Ovulation and Implanation. I got my hopes up really sky high last month and was shattered when AF arived so I'm just trying to go with the flow and leave my body up to it's own devises.

still have the odd pink spotting and some cm with red streaks, still have cramping, but got a bfn today aprox 8 dpo.
leaving testing for a few more days.

Hey Anila, nah spotting has stopped completely now and just a little CM, I did a HPT over the weekend and got a really faint BFP,but did another one this morning and got a BFN, so not getting my hopes up now! AF is due in 5 days for me.

i did a hpt today at 10 dpo and it was bfn, i know there is still time to get a bfp and i have no idea when af is due as i od early, but if this was not implantation, then i dont like my body much atm, lol.

I'm going through a similar thing at the moment! CM with blood streak and brown spotting on the toilet paper yesterday and today, today is day 20 of my cycle. Don't be discouraged by the BFN, I did a POAS maybe 2 days before AF was due and got a BFN. A week after AF didn't arrive, I got a BFP!

Just got another bfn, so i dunno, either it was not implantation or i have really low hcg.
im 14 dpo, im starting to rethink my o day as i took it from first day of ewcm but i had the o pain a few days later and if that is the case then im only 11 dpo, but then that would make all this "implantation spotting" or whatever start on 2 dpo.
so i have no idea.

:hug: Do you know when AF is due? I got a BFN with DD just before my period was due and of course a BFP when I was a week late. Are you still spotting now? How long have you been spotting for? I was just thinking that if you're actually only 2 DPO then that could be what the spotting is, since aparently the ovulation spotting can happen after the egg has already been released. But don't give up hope yet!

hi neenie, last af was feb 10, i had ewcm on feb 21, i originally took that as o day, but then i had o pain on feb 24, i started spotting on and off on feb 26 till about march 1 or 2, mostly ewcm with red streak and or pink on the loo paper, i have no idea when af is due, last cycle was 42 days, before that ws 32 and before that was 28.
Is it then possiable to have implantation at 2 dpo, this will be my 7th pregnancy but 6th baby.

What I read was that implantation happens anywhere from 3 to 10 days, so I imagine it's possible! With your cycle being irregular perhaps you ovulated earlier than you think? My understanding is that ovulation spotting usually lasts just a day or two whereas implantation bleeding is more like 4 days or thereabouts.

Having Mischelwurtz (sp?) and then bleeding 2 days later sounds like ovulation but is it possible that it wasnt mischelwurtz at all? I've had a sharp pain in my ovary before and I'm certain I wasn't ovulating as AF came about 7 days later (and theoretically, you ovulate 14 days before the start of your next cycle).

Have you thought about going to the Dr? Maybe they would do a blood test or something? Or have you done an OPK? If you've already bled though than it would probably be negative either way if you did now.

I dont use opk or chart, with the other pregnancys we just dtd then had late af, then got a bfp, so i took no notice of any sign, cm ,or pain.
This time i go by ewcm and o pain.
I am cd 26 today, well almost cd 27, i notice its 11.53 here, lol.
If it was implantation, how come 9 days later there is no hcg showing up in a hpt?
TTC is hard when u are charting, lol

I am also 5dpo and have had lower abdo ache since O along with REALLY wet CM...sorry TMI!:redface:

Anyone else had this increase in CM? I have trawlled google, like u do(!), but it seems that the CM should be creamy????

This TWW is killing me as my best friend has just conceived #6 at her first try and I am trying sooo hard to be happy for her and thankful I have 4 already,....but its just sooo hard!:wall:

Hi and welcome lusitano, good luck catching that egg, i hope you get a bfp really soon.
I also spend a lot of time on google and most sites say that cm is creamy before a bfp, but there have been a lot of women report wet cm before bfp.

So im either 16 or 13 dpo and cd28, still no af or signs that she is likely to appear soon, and still getting bfn.

So if that was implantation at 5 or 2 dpo, there really should be some amount of hcg showing up in a test.
and if that was not implantation, then i wanna know why im bleeding just over 2 weeks after af.

well i tested at lunch with a confirm and got a super faint really hard to see line, and i just tested then with a first response and got a bfn, so i still dunno, im cd 28 today.

I have another lil question for all....I had HUGE amounts of EWCM this morning on the TP but only lotion CM when checking internally:redface: My CP is still high and soft(ish) too!!
I know I have ovulated as I always feel it but why am I getting this CM now?!!:rolleyes:

Should I BD just in case I have delayed O for some reason....maybe stressed out...can't think why!!LOL!!!;)

Any news?

hey Neenee, no news really, still waiting for af, and had a bfn on fri, will test again on either monday or tue, but if it was implantation i would have expected hcg to show up, i did have a few super faint lines, followed by bfns, but that happened to me last cycle as well.
