Nope sorry, but the necklace hasn't bothered my boys, they don't even realise it's there.
I was beginning to wonder if they even made a difference, but I looked today and Si has a bottom tooth, and he's been as calm as ever so...we'll continue to see hey. :)
I'm just about to migrate from necklace to bracelet. Hopefully it won't be much difference!!!
Sarah, Matilda has had a bracelet for ages and it is yet to fit her :( she is 9 months and 9 kilos, and chubby!!! but it still slips off, haha only just tried it again yesterday actually and its not too far off fitting now, maybe another month (or two).
I agree though, once it fits her, I too prefer a bracelet to a necklace on a young baby.
Do you leave it on at bedtime Nelle?
sarah, Pip's been wearing his amber teething necklace now for a year! we're up to our second one as the clasp broke when he got it caught once, he's slept in it, showered, played, - everything.
I have a necklace on Ashton and he wears it 24/7 and it's never bothered him... boy does it make a difference though!! I took it off ONCE and he was a devil spawn! Put it back on and the improvement was sooo noticable!
So you guys aren't worried about choking? I'm just a bit nervous.
What are these miracle amber teething products of which you speak? Where do you get them? How can I not have heard about these?!!!
How quickly can I get one? Tonight? (we are in teething throes)
Same here Amber!
What it is, is a bracelet or necklace made with Amber beads. The heat from the body releases the oils in the amber & it's like a pain killer. Apparently very very effective. Just google Amber Teething Necklace & you'll find lots of sites.
can I reccomend sunshinenlollipops dot com :) Sarah is wonderful. Her necklaces are the best quality and kid proof ;)
I got my amber necklaces for the kids from ebay...their $12 including postage from the US. mateauz has the magnetic one so if he pull's on it it ocmes of and doesnt break..were Vy had the screw clasp one and its broken. Have now ordered her a magnetic one.
I also ordered one for myself and I tell ya...having suffered migraines every 3 weeks for the last 4 years...I havent had a headache AT ALL in 8 weeks . I havent looked back. Jed is now wearing my necklace cause he can home with a migraine and its goen already...were normally he would have it for 2 -3 days.
i think if you use a bracelet that your baby would see it and play with it more rather neck having the necklace around the neck
Just search amber necklace on ebay and you'll see them.
Woohoo, just ordered one!
Me too Amber!
Question- does your LO wear them all the time, or just when teething seems to be happening? If they wear it all the time, does it lower its effectiveness?
How about for adults- maz, you mentioned you wear one- do you wear it all the time?
I cannot recomend them highly enough! We have had Ds in the necklace since about 4 months I think. He will sometimes wear it to bed but most times he doesnt. The one I have a re individually tied so if it does break the beads wont break off and roll around.
Dh used the bracelet for a while and I did too while BF in the beginging, they definately worked.
Did I mention they look super cute too lol!
Good luck xxx
Jed has it on now...but I think your suppose to wear them for the time span of the pain. I wear mine to bed mainly and if AF or Oing cause I know thats when im due to be effected by migraines.
Might look into getting Jed a bracelet now so he can wear it all the time.
Wonder if it will help with his mood's  god im FUNNY!!!
Yeah we have it around their necks all the time. They're not very long, so I'm not worried about them catching on anything. If you're not comfortable with the idea though, then obviously don't do it.
Hey Maz
Sorry to hijack but
can you tell me how you use them for migranes and which type did you get
these damm migranes are driving me crazy!!
So I want to buy one for Jazz... what if she pulls on it? Will it break? And do the beads really stay on if it breaks? Is it ok to wear 24/7? Its the pain at night that I rally need it for! Are bracelets less effective?
Which ones do you recommend?
Leash...Jack has pulled on his accidently a couple of times and (the one I have) just pops off without breaking, you have to make sure it has a special "baby proof" clasp...it just comes undone instead of breaking. The beads are also individually knotted on so that if the necklace does happen to break only one bead will come off, and they not big enough to choke one.
The website recommends not wearing to bed, because of course anything around the neck is a strangulation risk...but I leave Jack's on 24/7..I am ok with that because it is not long enough to really get tangled, plus I know if there is any pressure (gets twisted etc) the clasp will just pop undone...of course that is a personal decision that every parent has to make for themselves.
ETA: Just wanted to add....if you get a bracelet, there is more chance that Jazz will play with it and pull on it as it is easier to see and get to.
I ended up going for the necklace because as Marlene said it's more likely to be played with, which Juliette has done with her Christening presents. The one I got has a screw clasp, but it says it will pop open if there's pressure applied, which I will be checking before I put it on Juliette for sure. There are other ones too that have a magnetic clasp if you'd prefer that.
Hoping mine arrives today.....
I was just wondering if the beads would be easy to get? I am thinking I might just make one.
I reccomend sunshine and lollipops. Sarah is lovely. She gets hers from Inspiredbyfinn, which is where I got mine from :) If you need links let me know. I got 2 from inspiredbyfinn and they were cheap! Including post it was $35ish. Aussie $.
I have chips because I thought they looked better for a boy :) Each chip is tied on individually, so if the necklace breaks it will not go everywhere and cause choking risk.
The clasp on the ones I mentioned above is a plastic screw one so if they pull it doesn't break. The boys have one too and they have yanked them and all and are yet to break them so I don't think Jazzy will break one, Ash certainly can't.
He wears his 24/7. He doesn't even notice it's there. I have never seen him play or touch it and it doesn't bother him.
Can't tell you if the bracelets are any different.
I so reccomend getting one hun!
Can someone send me a link to purchase a good one...
The beads are SO hard to get hold of! I spent such a long time looking for them but most genuine places will only sell to people holding a ABN, which just plain sucks! I got hold of some though :) but not much of a variety, but Im working on it.:
I was just wondering if the beads would be easy to get? I am thinking I might just make one.
Id highly suggest a magentic clasp than any other one, the plastic screw ones are claimed to break, but in my experience with them, they dont.
You really need to do your research with these too, especially since you are talking about babies here. I know I have, but then I am setting up a business to sell them and I dont want to sell anything that can pose any risk to any body. I know I wouldnt sell anything for a baby with the screw clasps.
My DD was wearing a screw clasp one and it did get caught on something and it didnt come undone and it didnt break. I took it off her and pulled a lot to see if there was any chance it would break, and it didnt. So i restrung it and am happy with the magentic clasp.
Baltic Amber is the best thing ever!
I recommend sunshine and lollipops as well- I got mine from there very easily.
It does have a screw clasp, but he's had it on for several months with no problems. I would have probably preferred a magnetic clasp, but couldn't find one. I initially had a chip one, but I found it irritated his skin, so I got beads instead. He looks like a little surfer dude. Its very cool, and definately helps.
