Bodhi for a boy?

Hello all,

Im interested in what you think of Bodhi for a boy?.
Im thinking Bodhi Cameron.
The other boys name on our list are
Koby Cameron
Brodie Cameron.

I think its quite different... never heard it before... wll i dont know anyone with that name put it that way. I love Brodie.....

I love the name Bodhi.

PLease don't let this put you off we had a newfoundland called Bodie (alternate spelling) and have loved the name for a boy ever since. I wanted it for my son when I have one but I could just imagine what mum would say :rolleyes:

I too love the name Bohdi, plus I love that spelling, I think it is something different without being too unusual.

The first time I heard the name was from the movie Point Break.

I know of a couple of boys with that name and think it is great.

Personally I'm a little biased - I have a Brodie - to me Bodhi sounds like someone has spelt it wrong - iykwim

I like it but I prefer Brodie - I think the letter 'r' gives the name more strength. Bodhi is also the name of an alternative bread company in Perth (nothin wrong with that!).

Cameron Daddo (remember him?) has a girl called Bodhi. Personally am not a big fan of it for either boys or girls...I prefer Brodie. :)

I like it and also think of Point Break, so makes me think of a hot looking surfer. Cool name.

My cousins name is Bodie. He is the typical surfer dude and really suits his name. I also like it, i like your spelling better though. My second fave would be Kobe. Good luck.

I love the name. The Bodhi tree is the tree that the Buddha sad under and meditated before he became enlightened. It's a beautiful name - with a lovely meaning.

Bodhi is the correct spelling too by the way... ;)

My husband wanted that for our son but I talked him out of it because when I mentioned it in front of my neice and nephew I said Bodhi they said sounds like bogey, boogar, snot. I thought great if they do that so will the kids at school. Just something to think about. Cheers Missy

i really like the name Bohdie, it sounds so cool.. i know a boy called Bodan and his nickname is Bohdie. love it!

... it was what we nearly called one of our boys!
It is a gentle but strong name with a nice meaning.

Im not so keen on Brodie.

Bodhi sounds very hippie to me. Buddha reached bodhi (enlightenment) under the Bodhi Tree, which is also the name of an Indian restaurants. But... everyone had different references for these things.

I think it sounds pretty cool....I do know someone with a DS named Bodhi....I also know a Bohen...purely because they wanted the shortened name of 'Bo'.
