Oh I'm so excited!! I've finished sewing the kids sacks. Now I just have to work out how to post a link on here - better get DH onto that.
Here is the link Christmas Sewing
I can't view it, is it locked to friends only?
I can't see it either Liv.
Does the link work now ladies??
I've finally decided what I am going to do with their names. I am going to use the alternate colour material (green on DD's & red on DS's) and have their names down the middle. Fingers crossed it works ok.
How is everyone's sewing going?? I've got the taste for sewing again and I might even tackle an advent colour. I love the triangle one on the string. I might look into it :).
That worked. Looks great!! Similar to what I'm doing except for the patterned bit I've use 3 different types of fabric. Just have to get to Myer tomorrow to find something to decorate the front!
Well done!
They look really great Liv.
I've just uploaded pics of the sacks I made today for BIL's 3 kids http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...6&l=297f62379f
Very cute Liv & Trill
I think I've now finished 4 bags, just waiting on fabric to arrive so I can do the last 3. My sew-on snaps I bought off ebay haven't arrived yet either, so the men's pressies are on hold as well. Silly me should have checked in our local fabric store first (it's only small so didn't they would have them as Spotlight in Wagga didn't have any!), had to get some self covering buttons yesterday to finish off DD's pinny and saw the snaps on the rack.
Have now finished DD's christmas pinny. I'm not really happy with it though and am kicking myself I just didn't follow the instructions instead of trying to take the cheat's route :wall: It is so tight to get on over her head, we had to have a few attempts and I didn't think I'd be able to get it on her!

I think it is really good. Is there any way you can take the straps off and perhaps have them do up with a button or snap? It will help get it on easier.
I love the pinny ss_storm! Looks great! Well done.
love the pinny SS!
Trill, those bags look fantastic!
Liv, I love your bags too! And I LOVE the colours!
I did a mock of one of the dress patterns on some old out of fashion manterial (it's about 20 years old this material!) and I had to make a size 8 for DD who is almost 4!!!! And you know what? The dress fits really well EXCEPT the arm holes are a bit small for my liking :( And it's a little long in length but that's easy fixed. DD is just so tall! I made it with jersey material. And I decided instead of using a zipper I'd use buttons... Now I've just got to work out how to do the cover thing on the arm holes and then it's finished and I can start with my Christmas material. But I think I might try the other pattern first as it is the nicer dress. I have enough of the Christmas material to make two dresses... or one if I make loads of mistakes! if all else fails, I'll make a nice little quilt or something for her.
For those who are doing advent calenders - do you have to use a heavy material? Can someone give me some tips? I want to do one for DD and I already have a heap of things to go in the little pockets... just need to make it now!
Spotlight here I come! Wooo!!!! Advent calendars and sacks on my list! Can't wait!
I have to get down there this weekend, they have 30% off if you buy what's left on the bolt until Sunday
Just make sure you get a bolt that's nearly run out! MG, the dress sounds gorgeous!
I finally got to spotlight and got the fabric for my kids' sacks and have finished them all, except for DS1's name on his as I have to get some plain navy cotton fabric because his fabric is a blue Christmas print. Have uploaded them to FB

You're on fire Trill!!
I need to get my butt into gear and do my sacks for the kids. I have started my advent calendar but it was a little fiddly so need some time without children interrupting me!
The sacks look great Trillian! Oh I so need to get to spotlight for some Xmas fabric! MG, the dress sounds so lovely, I can't wait to make some dresses for DD.
I'm still laying out my quilt. The number of times I've had all the squares laid out and rearranging them is driving me up the wall..lol..
