I am not at my local ALDI until Thursday (when the specials start ;) ) but will make sure I check to see if they have any left although in my area I doubt it, there are lots of elderley people around here who sew I'm sure and I think they would all be gone....

my SIL's are in Melbourne ATM and so is my MIL! They are going to Ferntree gully tomorrow which is right near Brandon Park and so they are going to go check the 3-4 stores around there to see if they can find one. They are from Canberra but are visiting DH's grandpa... we are going to Canberra in 2 weeks so if they get one, we can bring it back with us!!!

As for SIL's shopping in Melbourne, i'm pretty sure I didn't see any at the Ringwood store if that helps (that's my local). The folks at the Brandon Park store told my MIL that the 4 (now 3 less the one i bought) had been there for at least 6 weeks and wouldn't be going anytime soon (which is why they were marked down). I have :crossfingers: for you!!!!
Lol.., add up the length and width measurements (length x width x length x width) abd it equals 141cms.
They didnt end up going yesterday so hopefully they go today!!!!

Good luck hun!!! They do measure them really carefully - we used to have a business where we regularly posted large boxes and they would measure them every time. :( Fingers crossed they have one for your family to get!! xoxoxo
Mrs Bexie - some of those measurements were probably 34.2 or 34.3. I rounded to the nearest half centimetre to make sure I wasn't measuring under. It would probably be JUST ok... if you wanted to take the gamble.

I was browsing through this thread out of interest as i was considering the aldi overlocker not too long ago. At the time I was looking it wasn't available at aldi stores (it came on sale just after i purchased another one, typical :))
Just thought I'd mention to those of you who are looking for a cheap overlocker and can't get the aldi one I ended up getting a brother 1034d (model before the current 3034d) from amazon. It was on sale, and even with shipping from US it only cost about $250 aus dollars! Don't forget you will need a step down transformer for the difference in voltage, but i got one off eBay for $25, so all up $270 which i was quite happy with :)
Well my SIL's were meant to go yesterday but didn't, then said they would go today but instead of going to the Brandon Park one like I said, they checked 3 different ones and they didn't have any! bah!!!
My MIL who is in Melbourne atm too is going to check tomorrow but who knows if they have any left now!
I tried calling the number on the website but it had an automated message right at the start stating they did not give out store numbers and couldn;t check product availability in each store.. so that was useless!

If your interested, yes they do measure it really carefully because AP sell other services like eParcel for bigger boxes
The cheapest quote I got was about $43 when I shipped an overlocker by courier from Melbourne to Sydney.

Went into the sewing shop today to ask about how to make my rolled hem smaller, and i just have to take out the left needle! YAY! lol.
