Ooooh yeah DS also loves the "that's no my....."books also. I love them too as they are quick & easy to read!!
Anyone read "the story about the little mole, who knew it was none of his business" it's all about a mole & someone poops on his head & he goes around trying to find out who it is :rofl: I have yet to read it to DS, must do that tomorrow night. My sis says all the kids at her school just love it!!
Oh & Going on a Bear Hunt....that's actually my fav!
Don't have a child, but read lots of chldren's books for work.

Oh and we got a new one from bookclub this week 'there was an old lady who swallowed a mossie' = aussie version of the original.
It is hilarious - why did she swallow a mossie, cause she's aussie
The last page goes something about making her spew - and all the aussie things she's eaten come back up again.
We are currently reading about 40 times a day - A Hole in the Road. It's a fantastic book for any little boys obsessed with diggers and trucks etc.
We both love 'Time for Bed' and 'Ten Little Fingers, Ten Little Toes'. Great bedtime stories.
I was tidying up the bookshelf this morning, and came across yet another one of my faves - The Wide Mouthed Frog. I read it so much when I was teaching Preschool, and then when I went to playgroup - and to my own girls. It's looking a bit tatty.
My mum gave us a book called 'My Mummy is Magic' and I literally have to go and hide it from DD1 at times because I get sooooo tired of reading it over, and over, and over, and OVER AND OVERANDOVERANDOVER (you get the point) to her!!
She also loves the Little Golden Books 'The Little Red Caboose' and... I forget the name... the one with the kid who has a vegetable garden and the rabbit keeps eating it, and he makes a 'scare-bunny' that the rabbit isn't scared of lol.
I'm a total bookworm and always have been so I'm trying my damnedest to get the girls into reading :)

She also likes any touch & feel book
I grew up loving Dr Seuss and my kids like his books too. They also love (in the same Cat In The Hat series) Are You My Mother? and Put Me In The Zoo. I find they are good also for keeping their attention because there is only a small amount of text per page and because it rhymes they can anticipate the next word.
Yeah dd love dr Seuss too, 'oh the thinks you can think', well all of them really.
We also love the gruffalo, letters from Felix, Lets make mud and other gwenda turner books.
When she was younger she loved baby says peekaboo. Actually she still likes that now :)
I love going to the lifeline bookfest and other book sales and getting heaps of kids books. Now all we need is another bookcase :) Maybe I should search on ebay for that lol
Most have been mentioned already but DD LOVES "The Hungry Caterpillar", probably her favourite so far. Others she enjoys are "Hairy Maclary", "The Big Red Bath" and "Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes".

DD's fave is 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. We borrowed it out of the library for two weeks and she recited it at preschool! :D
She's really into fairy tales atm, and the more gruesome the better: Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, all those ones that seem so unsuitable for small children!

there are so many fabulous children's books...my eldest son loves books and at the moment his faves are grug, anything by nick sharrat, giraffes can't dance, rhino's horns, rainbow frogs, charlie and lola and many, many more...i am so glad that he loves reading books. it is such a wonderful past time.
my kids simply adore Mr Mcgee books, they just can't get asleep without reading some pages of them
my DD loves 'banana' by Ed Vere...I think that is his name...like she LOVES it. we can longer use it as a bedtime book as she gets too excited and giggly.
also a big fave is 'i went walking'...cant remember the author, but quite a popular childrens writer...
My favorite chldrens books are "Ten in the Den" and "Ten in the Meadow" by JohnButler". DS is only 4.5 months but his fave so far (i think) is "Star Baby" by Ian Whybrow and Jason ****croft.
