Holbrook Bakery an hour north of Albury is well worth stopping at. they do fabulous chunky choc chip cookies. cheap, rich and keep you going, especially if you are driving!
Also Freshwater Creek outside Geelong have great homemade cakes and fabulous pies.
Ohh i could just keep going......
The bakery near the ettamogah pub (qld) has the most awesome pies & sausage rolls Ive ever tasted! They recently got a new name though, and I don't know what it is...
Every time we go up the sunny coast I make DH stop so I can stock up :)
Great thread dusty!!
In Ballarat the "Golden Nugget" bakery on Sturt Street (main street throughout the town) AND there is one at the Stocklands S/C Wendouree - They have the most yummy (not sure what they are called) donut with apple & custard filling - Melts in your mouth !!!
... We also have a Beechworth Bakery here in Ballarat ... So, love :heartbeat: the Bee Stings, though had one the other day & to my disappointment the almonds on top were a bit on the burnt side & it was a bit squashed (still reckon a bit over priced) ... I'm not too fond of sitting in the Ballarat one as I've found most of the tables to be dirty with rubbish, food scraps, etc everytime I've gone in there
So, we travel to the Beechworth Bakery in BENDIGO, we love :heartbeat: the set up there - Nice big seating booths & has the cleanest & pretty Baby changing room in the Bendigo one :)
... We also love the caramel slice at the main bakery in the town LANG LANG in Vic (on main shopping strip there). They are the biggest, cheapest, & yummiest caramel slices on the planet. All their slices are huge & would feed two people (& all so cheap)
There's a bakery in Ballarat (I think its in North Ballarat, its near the North Ballarat footy ground) that does the best ginger kiss/yoyo biscuits! We always make a trip there when the footys at Nth Ballarat cos they're soooo yummy, abd they sell out all the time!
Oh, RAY RAY you have gotta find out exactly where or the name of the bakery ... Please Please  .. cause I so love :heartbeat: Ginger Kisses
... I buy em from Aldi BUT I would just so love to try some bakery ones, ... YUMMO !!! ;)
no prob, wont be til footy season starts..mmm actually I think we've been moved out of the ballarat league..i will ask MIL though, she will know the location if not the name.
RAY RAY you are just the BEST !!! :happyforyou:
... You would think after my living here after three years I'd know what bakery you are talking about, LOL
Awaiting patiently for your reply (no rush okay ... Oh, who am I kidding) ...
A huge big THANKS in advance just incase I don't get around to it !! :confetti:
I will make you all jealous....We own and run our own bakery here in brissy! So We can have yummy bakery food baked by my gorgeous hubby any time!

If your ever out that way, the Wood Fired Oven bakery @ Rylstone, NSW, (between Lithgow & Mudgee) has the best bread, all baked in the old fashioned wood fired stove, it's delicious :p, yummy pies and cakes too.
