I buy mine on ebay, but a good brand. Buy organic and virgin coconut oil - much better :)

Yep, unrefined, cold pressed organic. You might be surprised who sells it, my local IGA and health food store both stock it (oil). The coconut palm sugar is at my local IGA also where the Asian food is but it's super expensive there! I get the sugar at a large health food store that stocks everything you could possibly ever be looking for that is alternative health food :)

I'm an online buyer as hate going to shops lol.

I use it on everything, as a moisturiser on both me and the kids.

And use it in cooking, but have not used it in cakes. How does it go as a butter substitute in cakes to those that have used it?
DD loves to eat it off the spoon she thinks its a treat.

Teeki above 22degrees Celsius it is a liquid so doesn't take much to soften it and usually in summer or if you live somewhere hot it's always a liquid.

Love it as a body moisturiser. Living in qld it's liquid the majority of the time so I have a pump bottle in the bathroom. Use it in cooking and lots of things!

I get mine from the health food shop. Since I've turned Paleo, I'm using it more and more these days. I like it to cook with better than olive oil in my fry pan :)

There are SO many recipes out there now that includes it, I made a fruit and nut bar yesterday that had half a cup of it in there - and they are pretty nice! Can't wait to try more things.

em.. - I made a muffin recipe from the website of the manufacturer of the coconut flour I bought. It was very yummy :) I think it also used coconut oil in the recipe.

I mostly use it in my homemade deoderant :)

I use it most days in cooking but recently read and discovered its the best lube too - no chemicals and smells so good! Lol

I thought it might be a good candidate for that ;) Gotta be better than all the synthetic lubes and oils out there that can cause thrush and bacteria growth.

I use it to shave my legs (no rash or bumps) plus as an all over body oil.

Have you tried woolworths? They have the spiral brand.

Make sure its virgin coconut oil though and ideally organic so you get all the goodies.

Ok...some dumb questions for a newbie....
- how much do you use if you are using it as shampoo/conditioner/face wash/moisturiser?
-the lady at the shop was saying that shes heard of people taking it orally for weight loss, anyone else done this and if so, how much do you have??
- has anyone used it for thrush? She also said about putting it on a tampon and using it that way for thrush?
- What is a good price for coconut oil?
