I think it's like anything though. You might find the taste strong to begin with it, but push through and you'll end up loving it
That's what happened to me with coffee when I was 15 and doing work experience at a newspaper. All of the journos were drinking coffee and I didnt want to look like a kid (which I was!). So I drank it even though I didnt like it. It was the start of the great love affair of my life......

My DH is a winemaker and has always loved reds. I remember it took me awhile to like them. Maybe start with something soft like a merlot or pinot. Cab sav and shiraz are usually bigger wines. However, my favourite all time is a sparkling shiraz. Yummmm. Blends might also be easier to drink than a straight up cab or shiraz.
Enjoy!

Check out my blog (link in signature) - the entries in May are from when I did a wine appreciation course.
My favourites from the reds were Shirazes from Barossa and McClare Vale regions, I also like Pinot Noirs particularly from NZ or Yarra Valley ... Temparanillo was delicious too, and Merlots and Merlot blends are often a nice, soft way to start.

Thanks Three Graces & Peanutter!
Well, I bit the bullet and while we were out tonight I bought myself a bottle of red! My first bottle  I went with the Brown Brothers Dolcetto, and I LOVE it!! It's very sweet, like the brown brothers moscato but yeah, really nice!!!!!
So while DD2 is fast asleep I'm enjoying 2 glasses with some chocolate..... ah good times..... ;)

Lambrusco (sp?) and Ruby Red are two other popular sweet reds :)
