What is the best meal that you cook??

My DH and family love my lime, soy, ginger and garlic marinated organic chicken breast on the bbq... and its super easy... and rice paper rolls with chicken.. mmm yummo

desert wise.. my specialities...
self saucing butterscotch pudding with honeycomb ice cream
cherry cheesecake (my nannas recipe)
tiramasu
lemon pudding

mmm think i might make one for DH tonight...
Oh Cailin.. what is pink salad??? I am curious.. i love anything from the pink food group!!! LOL!! its not the one with marshmallows and mandarin segments in it??

Mine is mainly my lasagna, that is about it.

Wow sundried pesto, I have to try that (with garlic too).
I dont know what my best is. Got rave reviews about my mini pavlova's.
Also my lamb shanks are a hit.
Unlike many of you, i've NEVER made a successful lasagne....always something wrong with it (although ALWAYS edible...just not normal)!!!! xoxo

If you asked me - I'd say my best meal was my salmon curry.
But if you asked DH ... he'd probably say my prawn and snow pea risotto.

Oh, and I make great cupcakes - it's a Nigella recipe - totally foolproof and so so yummy.

Whatever DH cooks is sensational, I get comments on my lasagne & I make tandoori chicken wraps which I am now craving!!

Dh cooks chilli praqwns & I always do the garlic ones...

FOOD all food is great at the moment!

I made a chicken minestrone last night and I think its going to be added to the list was fantastic :D

All from scratch coz i don't like using packet jobs if i can help it. It might seem i'm up myself with my cooking but it's either that or DH and family/friends are lying so they don't hurt my feelings...lol

my all time favorite - never go wrong, is Satay chicken stirfry.
Easy as recipe - perfect for those days when you couldnt be stuffed cooking. Actually, not really a recipe, more like -
300 - 440g chicken - diced, sliced whatever
an onion. And cook
When chick almost done, throw in some sweet chilli sauce, stir thru, and a good couple tablespoons of peanut butter. I use low fat smooth. Stir around, and add abit of water to make it more saucy. A dash of soy sauce is good as well
Then i just chuck in capscium & snow peas, and serve with rice.
Works better with chicken then beef.

I am hopeless with receipes, tend to be more of a open the cupboard/fridge, and throw in what ever i feel like, tasting as i go along.

Easy thing is cooking meat, with some chilli, onion and garlic, chuck in some either terraiki sauce, or black bean or something, throw in some noodles and veges and bobs your uncle. Dinner in a flash.

Marinade - tandori sauce with yoghurt, on chicken breast.

Or - for chicken marinade - mix a small amount of water with a packet of french onion soup mix, just enough to make it abit a runny/pasty consistancy. And marainade chicken breasts. Yummo!!!!

I have a really simple one my mum used to do when we were kids. You can pretty much add any vegies - but the best soup to use is Campbells Big Red I think it is called( have tried others and they are yucky with this recipe)

Upside Down Pie

Meat filling
500G mince meat
vegies of your choice - Onions , peas , corn , celery, Zucchini , carrot ect ect ..I use about 1-1 1/2 cups of finely chopped vegies
Can of tomato soup

1.Brown mince and onions in oil
2. Add all your vegies
3. Add 1 large can of tomato soup
4. Once cooked transfer to a large baking dish ( I use a big square one)


Scone Mixture for top
2tblspoons butter
2cups floor
1tablespoon salt
3/4Cups milk

1.Rub Butter into flour and salt
2. Add milk and form into a ball
3 Roll out out fit the size of your baking dish
4. put dough on top of meat in the dish
5. Bake at 160degress for approx 30-45mins
Turn out and the yummy saucey meat will run over the top of the Delicious risen dough !!!!!!!!...a family favourite and cheap cheap cheap!

Last night i made a double of ozzies mine casserole recipe and it was to die for! I altered the vegies a bit and added more soup and tomatoes but DH was so impressed! And with 1kilo of mince, some vegies and tomatoes, (probably $12??) we got 5 meals for both of us!!! :D

Shan ..just saw you do a homemade BBQ Sauce ..would love the recipe if you would not mind :-)

oh Shan ..sorry posted same time you did!. It is one of my Dh's favs as well!...and believe me it is sooooooo easy!. can also be has healthy as you want or simple as you want ..it is pretty fail safe.

Cook lots of other complicated things but this one literally takes no time and everyone loves!

you know what i can never successfully make - lasagne, and potatoe bake. They never ever ever turn out right.
