Probably not as exciting as you thought. I buy a mix of rice bran flakes, wheat bran flakes and processed bran straws, and add organic sultanas, as well as LSA. And sometimes, if I'm feeling a little wicked, some honey roasted macadamias. But I haven't done that for a while.
3 for $1 avos taste the best on toast :D Since we moved to Qld we eat avocado SO much, cos it's so cheap!
Toast with vegemite (I like soy and linseed) and coffee. Boring...
Audax, are you serious? Avo's 3 for a dollar?? In Melb at the moment I'm paying $3 EACH!! I wanna move to QLD...
I got 2 for $2.50 at coles this week. I'm soooo tempted to plant the seed I dried out a while ago. Nothing more awesome than having your own avocado tree! I can't wait for my lemon tree to get heavy so I can start making lemon curd again.
<... Has a coffee...
And on rare occasions or if i know I am going out straight after the school drop off I'll have some cereal...
raupe it's the woolies brand called arnold's farm and i have a tgerrible addiction! lol.
i'm from an avo growing area - don't pay either get them off the tree or off friends :) SPOILT! it was ssssooo hard when we moved to nsw and i had to , (gasp, shock, horror), pay! but def on toast with runny poached eggs and pepper yummo.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! :hug:
I'm off to get some now... nom..nom..nom *drool*
I usually have one of these:
Crumpets with honey
Multigrain toast with sliced banana and honey
Multigrain toast with avacado, topped with baked beans and some light grated cheese
Porridge with honey
Cereal - fruity bites, Just Right, Corn flakes
On weekends, we usually do a special breakfast. We line a muffin tin with light ham, mix some ricotta up with parsely and light grated cheese and dollop it in over the top of the ham, break an egg into the top of the tray and bake in the oven until the egg is firm. They are egg, ham & cheese muffins - very delicious, very healthy and very low in fat (for ham, egg and cheese muffins). We eat them on toast with avacado, roasted cherry tomatoes and sauteed mushrooms. Great way to start the weekend :)
just me - you are an evil evil woman putting ideas like that in my head!
depends on my shift. If I'm on an early, it's toast and coffee in the car
otherwise cereal.
sometimes I'll do eggs (boiled or scrambled) on toast
oh this is going to sound really bad
2 huge coffees
1 cigarette (I've cut down from 2 or 3 in the morning)
then when I get to work
another coffee & a toasted vegemite, ham, cheese, pineapple sandwich
Just lately I have discovered the Qld yoghurt co yoghurt it is soooo delicious- anyway its; 5% fat, so not too bad really and I;ve been having it with sliced bananas orpeaches each day. And it really fills me up, I have not been looking for a mid morning snack at all.
I got a dwarf avo tree last year and apparently around December this year I 'should' get some avos on it :cheer: I looovoe them so can't wait! The dwarf tree should only grow to 2.5-3mtrs which is perfect for our town block. They are supposed to be pretty easy to kill so I'm totally stoked that mine is thriving (touch wood). Next to the avo tree is my other fav MANGO! Lordy lord I hope that one keeps growing like a champion too so I have an endless supply of both <insert drool icon here>
ausgirl... Cherished stands up... "my name is cherished and I'm a Qld Yoghurt Co addict" :rofl: for months and months I couldn't go past the rhubarb one, then it was mango, than passionfruit THEN my MIL told me about the lemon myrtle and macadamia nut OMG YUMMMM then I got the apple and cinnamon and now I can never decide which one to buy! There is always on in the fridge though and it's been my early morning snack during pregnancy when I get up in the night.
Hmm this thread is making me hungry!!
I usually have
muesli
toast with vegimite
english muffins with cheese
fruit
Oh thought i better add Rouge that I am moving in. this weekend. :lol:
hmm here we are pretty boring:
weetbix with a mixer (like nutrigrain or honeyweets);
raisin toast;
pancakes on Saturday;
eggs on Sunday (or we eat out)
porridge
and we generally have cut up fruit with all of this (apples, oranges and pears).
and the staple tea and coffee (and soy milk for DD!)
oh so boring! must make french toast again. pity that i am the only one in this house that likes it lol!
