Butter.It tastes sooooo much better
I could go some nice melted butter on hot pancakes right now *drools*
Butter FTW, every time. I'm not usually the kind of person who goes on about how we should be eating natural, unprocessed foods with fewer additives etc, but in this case, yeah, I reckon butter over margarine all the way. I always hated the taste and texture of the stuff (I finally convinced mum to start buying butter when she saw me slicing cooking butter with the cheese slicer and putting it on my toast lol), but now the more I read about margarine, the more I'm convinced that I'd prefer to consume a bit extra 'natural' fat or whatever rather than putting what is essentially one molecule away from plastic into my mouth.
Oooh that's a nifty trick with using the cheese cutter (or I guess you could also use a vegie peeler?) to thinly cut cooking butter. I'll remember that one! Cooking butter is soooo much cheaper than "spreadable" and has like, 3 ingredients: cream, water, salt. Can't beat that for pure and simple!
^ Lol it is actually a really good trick, I reckon... you don't end up tearing holes in your toast because it's sliced thin enough to start melting or at least soften, and then you just spread the edges out a bit and you're good to go :)
I like marg for sangas and stuff but butter to melt over vegies and also to cook cakes and things.
BUTTER !!! mmmmm
not marg as its got nasty additives in it and just hast and oily taste not the yummy creamy taste , butter has ..
\
apparntley marg is black before its processed in to a yellow spread ... besides vegemite , who want to spread anyfing black on their bread  not me !!!
oh and its gotta be full fat butter ;)
Butter (she says as she sits here eating hot buttered toast for dinner..). DH eats that stuff that's supposed to lower cholesterol, but I can't stand the stuff. DD has to have dairy free marg, again YUCK! Even more yuck than normal marg!!
I actually prefer olive oil spread - no nasty transfats. I prefer the taste & it's health benefits.
