This has been the longest roast chicken I have ever helped cook
I cant wait to hear the end result, I was going to suggest a desert to go with it, just to really impress DH
Lets hope everything went well

End result: I burnt the skin. I was too ashamed to take a picture and show everyone a black bird :redface::redface:. DH was a good sport and ate it. DD made a messy but still had some. As for me, I couldn't eat it. It was disgusting. Yuk! I am never going to attempt to cook it again but I do sincerely thank everyone for helping, laughing with me or at me
;) well at least you tried sweety
we all have to learn somewere !!
just buy one next time then hey ?? and pretend to pull it out of the oven lol
Dont be embarrassed huni, you tried. What a nice Dh you have, my DH would more likely have thrown it at me. I remember my first attempt at cooking a whole chicken, I just shoved it in the oven and hoped  for the best. I cant even remember if it turned out. So long ago now.
If you have one of those express cookers, the ones that you see right thru as it is all glass, they make a lovely roast chicken and you can throw all your baked vegies in with it. You can see it cooking and it wont burn.
I remember my first attempt at cooking silverside, it came out brown. Stupid thing. My DH turned around even tho he ate that one, and said Doesnt look or taste like your mothers:lol:
Just try again... Remember practise makes perfect!!!!!!!
Good for giving it a go. I was laughing with you - I'm not much of a cook myself but I may try a roast chicken now.
