Good luck getting in to the doctors, if I lived closer I'd be over there in a jiffy to help you out :)
they normally get the child to stand on a bed and they have a little look with a light at that area no actual going into it , thats what makes it hard for victims of that age because if there is no obvious sign on the outside well thats as far as they look. they understand its uncomfortable and tramatic for them to look sometimes they may move the flaps away to see.
One thing that crossed my mind - is there a possibility that she's tried to put something inside herself and that might have caused some bleeding?
I thought that to Danni, but I really don't think so. She gave me a similar 'why?' look to the look she gave me when I asked about boys.
I rang our gp. Told the receptionist whats happening & she's putting a message straight through to him.
I think it's important not to send her to school without some protection. Can't she use one of your liners - it doesn't matter if its black.
As for the doctor. You need to just go about this as a body part. Yep it's private & I am sure you've taught her that. If she had had a spill and hurt her vulval area you would look, a doctor would look. That's what's going to happen. As for signs of abuse. Abuse that has caused bleeding typically causes exterior damage. That will be seen on examination. It's far too late now for a semen test - she has bathed etc so that won't be done. The Doctor will use a swab perhaps to help with his examination. The lips of the labia will be very small in most young girls & he certainly will NOT or SHOULD not do anything too invasive. It will be very clear from the outside if damage has been done. He will tell you if the hymen is intact.
Good luck & I have been thinking of you a lot.

We have an appointment with a female gp tomorrow morning at 10am.
Mum's going to come here in her car, then I'll drop her out at work & head back in for the doc.
I don't think I'll have net access after though. I'm waiting in town til mum finishes & having all the kids stuff ready to go coz the girls are staying with mum, while I go with the friend to get my car.
If I have the credit on my phone I'll try to post an update tomorrow arv sometime. If I don't do that I won't be back til Friday night, so I'll try to get on somehow.
Hope all goes well Skye
Oh Skye, I'm sure it's nothing sinister, glad to hear you've got an appointment tomorrow.
Good luck with the appointment - hope all is ok.  Big hugs.
Hopefully it's nothing too worrying and all ends up ok.... most of the time these things do end up ok....
Let us know how she goes. xx
Good luck with theappt tomorrow.
