See that's what I don't get, he's a very hands on and nurturing father and my FIL is very loving and affectionate towards DH and BIL, both DH and BIL had homemade dolls that were their favourite toys, BILs was even called 'dolly' so he has no ground to stand on when it comes to not agreeing with DSs having dolls and prams:
Thats really odd. At least if he came from a background of tough stereotypical blokes it might make sense. :/
If my partner's argument doesn't make sense then i don't see why i should go along with it. Have you thought about why your DH gets the final say?
That is just like DS2. He brought me out some duplo the other day wrapped in a blanket and told me to hold his "baby". Ah...too cute!!! Within the hour it [the duplo] was back to being a truck - go figure. Let them be who and what they want to be I say.:
Cute! That just reminded me, when I dropped the kids off at kindy the other day, there were some cars tucked up in blankets in toy cots in the toddler room. DS & DD both were stroking them saying "shhh baby sleeping". Love their imagination! It seems that no matter what kids have to play with, they will turn it into what they need to play their games, regardless of stereotypes or colour.:
There's an online store called Redberry Kids they have a facebook store and stand alone website I think. They have a few different doll houses some are pink but at least one is like a pine with a couple of primary colours if anyone is still looking :)
I've been meaning to get one for my two youngest :)
I just use bottom of Expedit bookshelf as dolls house and decorate my self that way you can make it however you want it.
Treehouse sounds very cool :) Yes we were considering building one out of a bookcase, but are still working on their kitchen so weren't really up to the challenge!:
Raffy we were hoping to get a pram for our guys and again they're all pink.
we have a red pram and a blue pram, non-pink ones are out there you just need to keep looking.
He definitely doesn't get the final say, but his opinion is just as valid as mine and if we don't agree on something for whatever reason we tend to just leave it, plus we don't usually buy the boys big toys without a reason and their birthdays aren't til October and December so there won't be any more big items til then:

We have an awesome (albeit a bit pricey) gender neutral dolls house. It's a Hape dolls house. Super dooper cute and not girly at all. It has a family of six (including twin babies), a set of grandparents and pets! It has quite a lot of tiny accessories (including the pet dog, cat and rabbit and their food, lol) that I've had to put aside until DD2 is older. The attention to detail is amazing, my girls love it.

That's my favourite thing! DS2 will turn anything into anything. I love that he uses his imagination. That old ad that used to be on telly with a kid playing with celery....not too far fetched in our house. ;):
Besides, show me a man who wouldn't want to put his brand new "baby" car or motorbike in the loungeroom and cover it in a blanket!
Taurean - that is awesome! We wanted to buy DS2 a "dolls house" but honestly, all pink and frills just wasn't going to cut it. My pop made my sister and I a dolls house when we were kids. My nan made all the furniture out of wooden pegs. There was not a pink thing in sight!
