    Hey Kristin,

This happened to me last time I went the hairdressers. I didnt realise until i got home and was under a good light. I was in tears! Anyway I just washed it a few times with normal shampoo and then put a treatment in my hair and it got rid of it. I am not a hairdresser but it worked for me.

Hope it does for you as well. Good luck

I would s/poo it a few times with a deep cleansing s/poo. If you have a dandruff s/poo from the supermarket laying around that would do the trick. Dont go out and buy anything special, it wil eventually fade with regular washing.
Get in the shower and shampoo it 3 or 4 times in a row.
Note to self - set a timer

I have very blonde hair and this happens when I overuse my toning shampoo and conditioner.

Wash it three or four times with normal shampoo and do the same thing the following day. It's not permanant so don't worry!!!

lol this happens to the best of us!

im a hairdresser and i agree with the girls. just keep washing it and see if that works.

If it doesnt u can get another treatment from some hairdressers to remove the purple tinge. But washing it should do. try and spend some more time in the sun too, this will lighten the purple aswell.

anyone asks just say "oh its meant to be there" lol

If you drop into Price Attack or Priceline there are shampoos which strip all of the crap out of hair (caused by conditioner/product residue) and I find that works really well. I use Loreal which works wonders. I use it once a week anyway and I haven't had any purple tinge since. It won't strip any colour - its just a really deep clean.

The Loreal Kerastase range is the deep cleansing stuff. I use the balancing shampoo and just my normal conditioner (from the Loreal Professional blonde range).

I could be a salesperson for Loreal!!!

It can be quite expensive but it's worth every cent I promise!

    Thanks for the advice girls

I didn't the multiple washes and the toner is out, my hair is now a bit white-ish looking but I kinda like it!

    Thanks again!

PS. Amysarah I might invest in the L'Oreal professional range, man it's expensive but if it's as good as you say it's worth it.

Kristen - it is about $25 a bottle (almost $50 for shampoo and conditioner) but you use only half the amount you would a normal shampoo and conditioner and you won't need to use a seperate toner anymore.

I guarantee its worth it. Peroxide can really dry out and damage hair so its worth investing in a good shampoo and conditioner to keep it healthy and manageable. I've tried other brands (such as RPR) but they just aren't as good!!

Just to let you know another good product to use as well if your hair starts to go brassy and show yellow tones as the weeks go on is the Swarzkophf Bonacure silver shampoo ( it is the best purple shampoo I have ever used). I use it once a week just to keep the yellow tones away. Its about $20 and the bottle lasts me ages!!!! I normally get it from Price attack. They have some good prices on the professional hair products.

KRISTEN ... OMG, can you believe it ... i was at the hairdresser yesterday (not my usual hairdresser whom is on holidays ,, how dare her, LOL) ... anyhow, i asked for bright PURPLE highlights on my dyed very dark hair ... and presto they didn't come out ... had nothing but a head of solid black hair (she's going to fix it next week, fingers crossed)

So, HERE you are wanting to get rid of EM ... and I'm trying to get EM ... PURPLE highlights that is

Hope the washing trick worked for you

    Cheers from Lorelle

Re: Hairdresser help! My toner grabbed now my blonde locks are pu

B Uniq is Amazon's top selling toner for blonde hair - it's a purple hair mask without any parabens or suphates. Has thousands loads of 5-star reviews.

You could try Biolage Cleanreset shampoo designed to be gentle on coloured and/or fine hair, while deeply cleaning and removing residue.

Of course, always read instruction labels and seek advice if you're unsure. The product reviews can help guide you as well.
