Looks awesome!!!!!!! :)
Aww shucks, more compliments - thanks so much!! And now I have to delete the pic cause I'm feeling very exposed lol
Let's just hope I can make it look normal-ish in the morning. Thanks again everyone, and can't wait to hear how leckert and nickle go tomorrow with their hair cuts :)
I really like it. Well done for doing it.
You have made me think more about getting mine done. I don't think I am brave enough to go shorter then my shoulders still but who knows. Maybe I will just close my eyes and let the hair dresser go for it. It is only hair right, it will grow back eventually.
Would love to be brave enough to do the shave for a cure, but I will stick to the colour instead.
well not entirely happy with mine - she didn't take enough off  said I didn't want a bobcut so I've ended up with a layered bobcut that's too hot on my neck for summer - although when I commented before leaving that I wasn't sure about the length she said to wear for a couple of days and if it was still too long to come back and she'll trim it for free - so guess where I'm going on Monday ....humph.... will put a before and a halfway there pic up later today (before's already in my profile album).
Such a shame you're not happy with it, but great she'll trim it up for free for you. I went in aiming for shorter, and my hairdresser said to just go this length at first, and the same as yours, if I wanted it shorter to go back and she'd trim it for free too. Maybe they have too many women go in wanting the big chop then freaking out?
Will check back later for the half way pic :)
well here it is pics. The main reason I'm not happy with the length is that it's about the length that I usually chop my hair off to at the beginning of winter/late autumn and I wanted it shorter than that. Will have to ring tomorrow and book in.
Ohhhh I do like it though, very sleek and sophisticated. Looks great now, so can't wait to see the completed cut, you're lucky having straight hair you will be able to do so much with it!
Have you thought about getting your hair chemically straightened? Then you would not have to worry about doing it yourself for a year.
hb, you inspired me! This afternoon I had about 8 inches cut off my hair... aaarghhhh!!! It is now above my shoulders and very different... feels very healthy, but not sure how I'll go with it when I have to style it myself!! At least I have grown up hair now instead of the same hair I've had for 20 years!!
Woohoo go nickle! Feels good doesn't it?! Feel free to share a pic, or not, no pressure :)
It's funny, I too said today that I feel like a grown up now ha ha for what's it worth, my hair was crazy scary when I woke up this morning standing up every where, but a shower and a quick comb settled it back down, good luck in the morning with yours.
blessedmum I have thought about it, but it feels very permanent to do it. It's much easier to just whinge about the curls ;)
I am getting my courage from you HB that you have had your hair cut and you are happy with it and that so many other BB members say it is the best thing ever.
I made an appointment for today at 1pm. Now just to decide what to actually do.
Feels good, nice and light. Looks and feels much healthier... bit worried about what might happen when I wash it though, and try to style it myself! I have very thick hair which the hairdresser thinned out for me with layers, but if I don't dry it and straighten it (it's that awful not straight/not curly hair!) I think I might end up looking like a mushroom! It's too short for a pony-tail... I had a semi-permanant colour done, too - a nice chocolate colour. I like the colour a lot, nice and shiny!
Are you still liking your, HB?
Go for it, Blessedmum!!
Sounds really nice nickle, I nearly got a colour but had to keep DD amused in the pram during the cut so didn't want to push my chances with taking longer. Still liking mine this morning, I washed it last night because everyone kept saying 'just wait until the first time you wash it' and I had this sense of foreboding about it all lol not sure why everyone said it because it has been fine today and did what I wanted it to do. I am honestly the least hair styling person you could meet, just a quick comb and never blow dry, so I'm happy I don't have to fuss too much with it now it's cut. Yours should take less time to straighten now there's less of it hey?
Blessedmum that's so exciting!! Can't wait to hear how it goes....... you won't know yourself :)
Well, I did not go real short, I got 6'' taken off, but still wanted to be able to tie it up so it is just below my shoulders now. I got it layered though. But i did go through with getting a fringe. I was 10 the last time I had a fringe. My hair is really thick too so it is nice to have it feel light. I am happy with it, but did say to my hairdresser that maybe next time I will try a bit shorter. Baby steps for me I guess.
Sounds lovely Blessedmum, isn't it amazing how something that seems so simple like a different hair style/cut can make us feel great? How's the fringe going?
It sure does. Even though I still have my hair tied up all the time, having the fringe makes it so different. I love it. I will definately be keeping it.
How are you going, still happy with yours. Have all the people that said, 'wait till you wash it, style it yourself' stup up now.
Well...I am all booked for next Thursday  I am going to do it!! Pixie look, here I come :)
