DH just got home & said "Well it's convenient for your school reunion because it looks like your trying to look like a school girl"
FFS.....
Doesn't matter DD & I like it (& all of you!) Oh & my twin sister likes it too :)

OMG, I had the exact same experience about 6 weeks ago - my MIL said almost the exact same thing!!
Mine starts a lot further back and is longer and fuller, trying to think of someone famous with a similar fringe...um, kinda like the Veronicas?
Anyhoo, my DH said it made me look 14 - that was the BEST thing he could have said!! hahaha.
It does take timeto get used to it, I still have days when I think...hmmmm, did I do the right thing? But now I can grow my hair out without it hanging in my face constantly (my hair is UBER soft and silky, sounds great in theory but not when it can't even hold a bobby pin...no joke. My hairdresser couldn't even get the front of my hair to stay back) and am looking forward to having a bit of length and being able to wear it up again.
You look great - don't worry about your MIL - I'm not :)
P.S. Why can't MIL's just keep their opinions to themselves??? Grrr so rude. I'm sure they told their children if they can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. They should take their own advice and shut it!
To be totally honest - I think it looks better because you don't look like so "mumsy" - like you have 5 minutes to do your hair (even if you don't!) with your hair in a pony tail you DO look a little bit like a school girl but it's probably more the pony tail than the fringe anyway and I reckon it would look great with your hair down - and who says looking like a school girl is a bad thing?? You do look younger, which is supposed to be great! The photos with your little one look great. I got a fringe recently and I love it! It hides my wrinkles!! Besides, fringes are very in just now down our neck of the woods - if I see "a little school girl" kissing a grown man at Warringah mall with two small kiddies, I'll guess it's you ! You'll know it's me, cause I'll say - "love the fringe girl!!"
xx00xx
I think it looks good. I see far too many women these days with long one length straight hair without fringes & just wish they'd either get layers or get a fringe.
As for not being mature, I have a fringe & I'm 42.
They say a fringe takes 10 years off you so that could be what's bothering your MIL - that would make your agegap look way worse.
I think it looks great.
xx
I love it - and i would be honest!!!
Mwah - dont worry about your MIL, you look fab!
It looks great (better IMO ;)). I got a fringe last year for the reason Nickel outlined......I wear my hair in mummy-style (ie. ponytail) alot of the time now, and I was sick of looking like I'd had all of 3 seconds to do my hair. I think a fringe takes away from that effect. Not that I look all glam now, but YKWIM!
Your MIL can go jump, she's probably just jealous!
At least your MIL noticed! My hair was done to my bum, I had it cut to just below my shoulders & she didn't say a word. Three weeks later (I had seen her once each week), she says "oh did you get your hair cut? It looks nice." LOL!
It looks good! Next time MIL starts with the "I liked you better when ...", tell her "oh really, I like you better when you keep your mouth shut." Sorry, that's very harsh but God rude people give me the irrits.
