I comb my hair after its been washed but that is the only time a comb comes near my hair. Curly hair and brushing does not go well :(

I don't own a hair brush.
Mostly use a wide tooth comb, but I find as it gets longer it often needs a brush of a morning.

I've got super healthy hair which is brushed every day at least twice. It's several inches past my shoulders and my hair dresser can't believe how healthy it is after 2 kids. Brushing, wearing it up and straightening certainly hasn't ruined my hair but I personally think regular trims (I go every 5-6 weeks), good quality shampoo and condition and Moroccan Oil certainly help :)
I comb mine in the shower when I wash my hair - which is most days (as when I exercise it's all gross and sweaty), but I try to hold off and wash every 2nd day if I can....
I rarely brush my hair - mostly cause I am too lazy... I get out of bed and put it in a hair tie to put the shower cap on - have a shower, and usually don't remember to take it out of the hair tie... :rolleyes:
always think I should do it more... but then....

I just combed mine in the shower for the second time in a week. 3 handfuls have come out. I think I am going bald!
Brushed daily at least, usually before work. Washed as needed (ie when it feels oily and gross) and brushed with conditioner in the shower otherwise that tangled mess has no hope. Just looked at the ends and surprisingly they look fine to me. Only cut when I do it, so once a year maybe :shhh: :redface: It midway down my back. I wore it in a pony tail the other day at work and had a colleague comment that they didn't relise my hair was so long as its usually always in a bun lol.
I have really oily hair & if I wash at night (usually do) it starts to feel oily by lunch time the next day :/ I brush after I wash it. If I'm not going anywhere i'll wash every second day. So brush every second day, unless I'm out & about for school stuff a lot. Then its more often. I often tie it up without brushing though. Its long & thick & always up. My last hair cut I did myself. Usually get one every 2 years :lol:
DD2 needs to brush every day though. Her hair is straight, but SO thick & matts so easily. She's always got food in it too :/

I love my hair but I hate it after it's brushed.
You should NEVER. Comb your hair in the shower. It breaks easier! Or so I was told :P I used to and massive clumps came out. Now I use a paddle brush before I get in instead. And if you don't brush often don't fret if when you do you comb a lot of hair out this is normal and if you brushed regularly you wouldn't notice.
A hairdresser recommended that DD comb the conditioner through her hair in the shower with a wide tooth comb. Maybe it depends on who you talk to :dunno:

I was always told you're not supposed to brush wet hair, but combing with a wide tooth comb, gently is ok.
Not that I really pay attention, but every time I go to brush my wet hair, I always think that I really shouldn't, then do it anyway...

I was told to use a wide tooth comb if I want to put anything through my hair when it is wet because it's easier to stretch/break when it's wet but fingers are better.
Conditioner is mainly meant for the ends so you shouldn't need to comb it through.
Shampoo for roots scalp and it will clean the ends enough on the way out (thanks gravity) and conditioner for the ends.
There seems to be too many hair experts giving out conflicting advice. No wonder there's some messed up hair out there!
My hair's not messed up :p
