Ugh, I spent an hour at good 'ol Eastland on Sunday (that was all the time I had!) and I found NOTHING that fit! I only have one pair of jeans that fit too and they are looking so tatty. Everything either gave me a muffin top or was so low I would never dare to bend down to pick up my bub lol! Also, everything was so long! I am 168cm so I'm not a shorty, but all the jeans were ridiculously long. I came away empty handed and very disappointed :(.
I used to work for Sussan and I never thought to look in there , I'll have to check them out next time!
Good luck!!

Trish, skirts/pants/jeans are always too long for me so I don't even bother with the length. If they fit on my bum, tum and thighs then I just get them taken up.
-
dachlostar - *Insert whiny voice* Yeah, but I don't wanna have to get them taken up LOL.
I have a hard enough time getting to the shops in the first place atm, I just want something I can wear now!! I suppose I will have to bite the bullet eventually and do what you do. I used to work in women's fashion years ago and I was the perfect height for any pair of pants, it's so frustrating now! *stamps feet*
-
Lol Trish, you could always just become a high heel mum! That'd solve your length issues! :P
-
Dach, me too! It's a pain though at the moment cos my sewing machine is broken :S
-
LOL Trish :D I did the same thing a few months ago... did the big hunt. Came away with a pair of Levis Lucky Clover jeans. I'm nearly the same height as you (169cm) and yes, they are too long but Just Jeans will take them up for you, sometimes on the spot. I think the Bourke St store does this. yes, they are also too low but i just gave up and gave in! I kept feeling like a Mrs Harry highpants (what te staff used to call high waisted jeans wearers at the place I last worked and maybe because of my age that made me feel ooooold (I'm 38). So I bought the uniform of the day  and I suspect I'll be giving them to my 13yo DD in a few years time too.
If you manage to find anything reasonable, let us know!
Oh and I've been getting away with rolling mine up a little... if I wear heels they are ok. I'll get around to taking them up one day...
ETA: Sorry Gracie! I thought Trish's post was the opening one! I agree about muffins being a bad look. I like the sound of Sussan's and Jag's Espies!
-
LOL sorry to hijack your thread Gracie!
Thanks for the suggestion Nelle :P Nup, my back doesn't cope with heels, and I don't know how I'd go chasing two boys around in them anyway!
Bathsheba - I will be sure to tell you if I find the perfect pair!
-
I still fit into my pre prg jeans (not bragging I promise - if it makes you feel better, I was never skinny to begin with!! LOL) and have actually lost weight while b'feeding (a bout of food poisoning didn't hurt either )...
anyway, moral of my story is - I brought a new pair of jeans on the weekend at Kmart of all places! They're skinny leg jeans which I must admit I NEVER thought I could pull off but had two girlfriends with me and they assured me I could so... I brought em! I wanted a pair that I could wear my boots over and all my other jeans are too wide at the bottom. only down side is they have the potential for plumbers crack - while we're on the subject, can someone PAHLEASE explain to me why designers think we want our butts hanging out of our jeans??!! I don't get it!!!
again - moral of the story is, keep looking in places you never thought of, you never know what you might find.
for the last few years though I've been wearing the jeans west slouch jeans. they're more of a man style with front side pockets and wide leg. they do sit on the hip but they aren't that low that your butt hangs out and if you get the right size (they come in half sizes too - 11,13 etc) no muffin top.
-
ok, quick update ladies
i went to knox today and basically couldn't even get in the door of sussan's- way too many people in there (pre- mothers' day rush i'm guessing?!?). anyways, there was no way i was going to get the pram in there so i headed into jag and yah!!! i bought a nice pair of high waisted size 12 and all!!!
-
So you're happy with the Jags? What colour are they? I've been looking for a brand that fits me in a very deep unfaded unstressed blue. Or a pair of light powder blue ones. I can only seem to find ones in a dirty mid blue colour... ugh. I prefer my jeans actually look clean.
-
yes i'm really happy with them. they're a really dark navy blue. they had lots of different colours in there though, and the best bit was that i was basically the only person in there so the lady could help me try on a few pairs. $99- not bad i reckon.
i didn't get to try any on from Sussan so i'm not sure what they're like..
and i bought a gorgeous top from Ishka!
-
Gracie, was it the "espy" that you got? They're my all time favourite jeans. I wear them every single day, I have two pairs and alternate with washing. Watch out for when Jag have a 30% off sale and go get yourself another pair. And WOOHOO for you!!!!
-
With these Jag "Espy" jeans: would they fit a person with a narrow waist and um... big butt? I mean... my butt's not humungeous... it's just well rounded as opposed to flat. I see women who have no butt (but have rounded tummies) and think to myself that they must have a much easier job finding jeans than I do because most jeans these days seem designed for their body shape, not mine :(
-
The ones i got are called Jag high rise boot. fit 80-2, whatever that means?
i've got a pretty big butt too bath :)
-
Bath, I have a small waist and large bum (but same as you, not humungous) and I find the espys fit perfectly. The rise is just right for me, not too low (no plumbers crack) not too high (no harry high pants). Go check 'em out, and good luck!
Yay for you and your new jeans Gracie.
-
Thanks girls! I'll check them out this weekend! :D
-
Well done Gracie - I'm still looking for the perfect pair (if that exists for me!). I will have a look at Jag next time I'm out! I was at knox too yesterday, along with everyone else it seems, people have gone crazy over mother's day !!!
-
hey gracie, i went to jag yesterday and they had buy one, get one 1/2 price. So i got some midrise bootcut and a pair of cargo's. thanks for the tip. i love em.
ha! same stroller, same carrier, same jeans......what next?! lol.
