I had a look at that Caro but i need all size 8's or Xsmalls. Did you buy it online or actually go to the shop? they have really nice stuff.
I want a strapless dress or thin straps, colourfull & was thinking something that could even be worn with my leggins. Will have to search more online.
Try googling Ozdesigner too :)
I just don't get the Hav thing either, to me they're just rubber thongs LOL!!
I dont even know where to start with fashion for summer so this thread is a good start for me. I just feel out of touch and dont really know what I want but when I look around at what people are wearing everyone else seems to be looking great. I kind of dont have the time to go shopping (I never thought I would hear myself say that) but am desperate to get some new clothes as I feel like I have been wearing maternity clothes for the last three or so years - well that is a slight exaggeration LOL!! I would love to have a professional shopper/designer/dresser to go and get me a heap of clothes and tell me what looks good and what doesnt.
net-a-porter has some gorgeous summer stuff on sale at the moment - it's a shame our dollar is doing so badly against the pound :(
I am very winter. too much of a melbourne girl, any shade of black is great!
I am branching out into pink though..mmm..but blues/purples if I had to choose a colour
No no Caro, Havs are Havianas which are basically plastic thongs! You're thinking of Crocs.
No Caro! Haviana's are thongs, that you can get usually in surf stores, the thing people like about them is that they're comfy and can be gotten in many different colours. They last awhile too, I have a white pair that don't look too white anymore, I've had them for...seriously, maybe before I was married so perhaps 4 years? And they're still going strong. Strong-ish anyway. This summer might kill them.
I think you're thinking about Crocs? I don't have a pair but I've nicked my mum's pair before and they're surprisingly comfy! I quite liked them. People keep saying my birkinstocks look like surgical shoes too, but I defy them to be as comfy as me. I defy them! :p
Anyway. I'm going to be rather large this summer, so I'm thinking a maxi dress might be fun! I think any loose flowy dress will be nice and forgiving for me.
oh dear nah they're crocs you're thinking of caro! not a fan of those but i think they look cute on kids.
Havs are just really good quality thongs.... i've had my first pair for over 5 years and its in perfect condition, very strong rubber, i guess they're not like your average foamy type thongs.
i have about 5 pairs of havs.... and looking for more .. they have lasted for aaagges and i can shop all day in them and my feet dont hurt after ...
up here any thing goes with havs .... i remember after my wedding when we were all sitting down to eat i went back to my room whipped of my uncomfy wedges and slid into my havis.... ahhhhh i was pg so the releif was welcome ... and plus they looked great with my wedding dress ... and dh wore thongs at the wedding ....
(mind you it was in fiji and really hot!!)
anyway some maxi dresses look awful, i am a true hourglass shape and the teired look on stuff does nothing for my figure .. and if i wear straight up and down dresses they tend to accentuate my hips and saddlebags !!!
dach im going to check out net-a-porter now !!!
eta... eek just looked to exe for me ..... top shops more my budget !!
Lea, I just had a look at top shop. They've got some cute stuff but my size was all sold out :(
Considering how the US dollar is doing at the moment I'd be better off looking in US stores.
I have to save some money on clothes because DH is having hissy fits about the amount I spend shopping.
I find that if I'm going to buy online it usually works out cheaper to buy out of season stuff from the Northern Hemisphere on special than pay full price in Australia.
Has anyone owned one of those Sacha Drake (50 million different ways to wear it) dresses? Experiences?? I'm thinking of investing in one...especially to wear for Melbourne Cup day - if the race goes ahead of course.
Oh, BTW, I found some long tops at Giordano - almost like a super mini tank dress....they're the best maternity top...they fit like a glove, are long and they've got some nice colors. I bought a pale green and a grey and will be going back to purchase a black one and white as well.
For online shopping I'd recommend ezy buy. they usually have some nice stuff although being prg I haven't looked for a long time. Prices are good and return policy is fantastic.
I've never brought Havs cause the price has always put me off but hearing how long they last, might have to get some this summer.
I'm dreading summer this year to be honest - all those post baby body issues and no where to hide!!
Oooh I'm loving this thread, girls. Gives me some good ideas. I'm another one that doesn't look any good in the maxi dresses/skirts.... I resemble one of the kindy's parachutes when I wear one ;)
But a lot of the tops are looking appealing to me. I'll have to go on a child-free day and try some on. Keep the ideas coming :)
........
Okay i'm getting swayed and i think i like the maxi dresses now! the only thing is i'm 5ft5 and usually look silly in long skirts or dresses.... but the upside is i can hide my pale legs!
Which maxi's have people bought?? any recommendations?
