LOL.... anyone with pigmentation should try the new Clinque "even better" foundation. I have the worst pigmentation going on from my last pg and it looks amazing. I even have a scar from a skin cancer I had removed on my cheek and it covers that without the slathered on look. Cost me $48 for a tube and I don't really use much each time, even though I do apply it with a brush.
I recently bought a mineral foundation from Inika Mineral Cosmetics. I love Inika because they don't test on animals or contain toxic nasties. Also, I am quite fair, and their range is suitable for very fair to very dark skin tones.
I just don't remember to wear it!
I'll be looking into that new Clinique foundation Nic! Interesting that you say it comes in a tube. I often get frustrated with their bottles... you can't get that last little bit out! Before I used Clinique I used to use foundations that came in tubes and was able to snip it open at the end and get a few more "wears" out of it. I don't use very much each time. I assume "Even Better" comes in fair colours? I wear the Just Neutral in their Dewy Smooth range ATM witch is quite fair.
I have been wearing the Mabeline Liquid Mineral foundation lately but this morning I decided to use my Avon Mineral powder and I got a really big compliment on how my make up was done today. I find my mineral powder is quite light so I put enough blush on my cheeks and T-Zone to add some natural looking colour without looking over done.
Loreal true match for me; i like it but im still trying to find a foundation i LOVE. I have freckles that i just hate and want to find a foundation to cover them without looking like i used a spatula to apply my make up hehe
Geez, i've tried that many & still can't quite find that perfect one ... Don't like 'em too thick & heavy or that pick up & make your lil facial hairs more obvious ... don't like 'em so thin they don't cover what i want covered ...
I like coverage BUT where my skin still feels like it's breathing
I tried a couple of mineral ones BUT they aint great for older woman as they emphasis even the tinest wrinkles on side temples, etc ...
Have tried REVLON Colourstay Active, is labellled Light Makeup BUT feels so darn heavy
***** The one i've been using for sometime which i don't mind but not too crazy about the bit of glitter effect (illuminating) in it is RIMMEL RECOVER in tube ;)
... BATH, me too only like the foundations in a tube, also i think more hygienic then dipping fingers into a bottle :D
smiles, just a tip that I got from the Clinique make up artist about fine facial hairs showing up through foundation. Use a brush and brush the make up upwards first and then brush it down - it definately works.
Thanks Nic ... i do that with my finger tips but never thought of using a brush  ... Nic, What sort of brush would be affective to use ... like which one do you know & where to buy it ?? (No worries if your not sure ;))
The Rimmel one i'm using doesn't seem to show it up much but would be great to try if i ever use a different foundation ... Hey, THANKS a million for the tip
I use Clinique. It is what my Mum bought me when I was a teenager and I just kept with it. I really love it and haven't found a reason to try anything else!
I'm curious as to what Clinique Foundation are you all wearing ???
... As i just jumped on the Clinique website & there are so many ones
... My keeping in mind we all have different skin types ;)
smiles - with the brush, the chick that did my makeup stopped me from spending $84 on a foundation brush and told me to buy the manicare one for $12 cause it was exactly the same. Manicare is all that stuff you get for your feet and nail clippers and stuff, maybe priceline have it, I did get mine from Myer. It's called exactly that, a foundation brush.
Thanks Nic, looks like i will head into Priceline for one (or Myer) ... Sorry to be a bother BUT is it labelled a ' Foundation brush ' ?? as i have no idea what the brush looks like
Jitterbug & Bath ... reckon i will try out a Clinique one for sure (and soon) ;)
Thanks for all your tips Nic! I have never used a foundation brush but will keep my eye out for a Manicare one.
Smiles: I have used several Clinique foundations over about 15 years. The one I am using at present is Dewy Smooth Anti-Aging. It's for mature skins... moisturising but not too heavy... good coverage without looking like you have it caked on. I have two shades in Dewy Smooth, one for summer when I am a bit tanner... and a lighter one for winter. My stepmother recommended Clinique and as soon as I got my own job I started buying them... but have used them continuously since about 1994. To establish which shade is best for me I did a free counter consultation (without wearing any foundation). I do a refresher visit every few years. I also occasionally ask for sample pots of other foundation formulas (free) and give them to my 14yo DD who has just started using a bit of foundation this year.
soz for the late reply smiles, have one very sick little bubba... Yep it is called a foundation brush. It kind of looks like an artists paint brush. HTH
I have a Stila foundation brush that I bought at Mecca Cosmetica.
Sheer cover mineral - it is unbelievable - hate the infomercials LOVE the product. Got my mum onto it at Christmas and she loves it too - can't even feel it yet it gives you that airbrushed look and super easy to put on - 1-2 mins max
I dont normally feel the need for foundation but when i do i wear MAC studio fix fluid and i love it :D
:D Thanks a million NIC ... hope your sweet bubba is feeling better sooner rather than later, poor lil' poppet !!!
Bath, ... i'm going to Myer in Melb tomorrow so will check out the Clinique foundation for sure (and some dreamy Mac eyeshadows i only ever drool over when i pop in there ... thought might buy some Mac this time as have a gift voucher from in'laws from Xmas !!)
I don't like liquid foundations so I use Maybelline Mineral Powder thingy when I can be bothered which is not very often.
