I'm still a bit disappointed, what i loved about it was that it didn't have the chanel chain strap, the straps were plain leather, and it was very 70s. But its okay, DH has accepted that $300 is reasonable for a staple bag now, so I'll keep looking for one, hopefully get one in time for my birthday :)
Thanks for all the feedback!

UPDATE:
I've found a bag, ended up being a lot more than I wanted to spend, but its vintage circa 1980s Chanel and in Excellent condition, still with authenticity card and dustbag. Its on its way for my birthday :)

Yay, what a great birthday present :)
-

Yep i'll post pics as soon as i get a new camera..... i dropped it today with the lense completely out and its caput :(
-
Okay i have pictures but the gallery doesn't seem to be working?!
-
Yep, the gallery has been out of action for several weeks now :( I'm getting antsy too... I have all these piccys of lovely aprons to upload LOL
-
Shame, i cant wait to see ur handbag, i love a good bag,
and Bath, i would love to see ur aprons. :D
-
Bummer, are we allowed to post links to public photo albums, for example facebook etc?
-
I'm fairly sure we are allowed to link to personal photo albums... yep... try that. I'm just too lazy to set up another location of post the piccies in FB.
-
yep, you can post a link to a FB album but flickr is more private because you can just have a username.
-
Okay, have uploaded to flickr, this link hopefully works?
-
ooh I love it. It's a great shape and the drop is a really good length. I hate handbags that aren't long enough over the shoulder when you need to be hands free.
-
Oh I wish i could spend $1000 on a bag and not feel guilty... I could easily do it.
I wouldn't go over $200 myself and that would be a splurge for me.. Shoes on the other hand  hehe
-
Thanks, i'm enamoured with it :)
It's also a very decent size, i can fit my purse, phone, keys, 2 nappies, travel wipes, a baby bottle & sippy cup!
I debated about whether i should save it for special occasions but i think life is to short to have it sitting in the dust bag. It only cost me $100 to have it refurbished, so if it needs that again its not a huge price to pay, and if i ever sell it it will have good re-sale value.

oh wow, what a great bag, love the long handle, very special indeed, congrats on a great purchase. :D

he he - I've got to leave this thread up for DH to read. He just doesn't 'get' the whole handbag thing.. I'm lucky if I get to spend $70 on one. My last one (for Mothers' Day) was a whole $23 from strandbags!
Although, I do have a lot of handbags as the novelty wears off pretty quick and I want something different! ;) I always say I'm on the endless 'perfect handbag' quest..
