Vagina infections during pregnancy

Hi there,



I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and I am experiencing some soreness and itchiness down below. I have had thrush twice during this pregnancy amd have treated it with medications from the pharmacy. This time it is a bit different though as my discharge has been a yellowy clear colour. Anyway, I visited the midwife and she took some swabs. Results dont come back for two days and she said I may have to take antibiotics if they come back positive. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know if it will effect my baby?

Sounds like thrush again sweetheart - sorry.

thrush put me into ptl at 27 weeks with my son - but at your stage it's not going to be a great problem if you go into labor - they probably wouldn't even stop you at this stage.

There's tablets at the chemist - I can't for the life of me remember them, but they've got a white label with orange and blue writing - in the fridge section, they've got live bacteria in them, they're FABULOUS for keeping away thrush etc while pg... I had to take them for months! I'm sorry I can't remember the name - but maybe someone else konws the ones im talking about?!

I have a similar thing but it is more of an irritation than thrush. ive had thrush and this is definatelty not as bad. i thought it might be thrush starting this time but i stopped using maternity pads and it stopped. i think with all the extra heat in my body it might be that im sensitive down there. after not using the pads and only using cotton undies and sleeping bare i am fine. would be interested to see how you go. good luck
