Hello kirsten, sorry to see you in this thread but i was posting in here for 6 months after losing my angel and found it so so helpful and so much support from all the lovely ladies. I hope you find it just as helpful. After my m/c my ob also told me it was fine to start TTC after first AF and i have heard from a lot of people that you are very fertile in the first cycle after a mc. Good luck hun and hope you get your BFP very soon :)

Sunbeam: a faint faint line is still a line...I have my fingers crossed for you!!!! I will be trying again as soon as my bleeding stops, and agree that if the lining isn't thick enough there is no way anything will stick.

I have heard the same thing - lots of conflicting stories but never actually been told by my own Dr. Not sure but i have heard of lots of ladies not waiting ?

Really really quick reply re waiting times. When I saw my Dr for the follow up (3 weeks post D&C) he said there is absolutely no medical reason to wait even one cycle after a D&C. BUT that most people want/need too, that it is helpful for dating, and that women who conceive before even getting AF tend to be a bit more nervous than those who wait, so tend to be ah, slightly more difficult patients? (I guess cos dates are more likely to be messed up, so you might be thinking your 7 weeks but scan at 5 or 6 and so assume you've lost the baby, when it's just dates?) . DH and I decided we would wait one cycle. Waiting for AF is soooo freaking hard already, we didn't want the pressure of wondering if it was cos of pregnancy. Having said that, we did have one oops, I took a test and it was neg, so I know I'm just waiting for AF. I think it would be way to hard for me at the moment to be doing the am i/aren't i thing. Especially when it's so so so common for the first cycle to go stupidly long. Anyway, that's my rationalisation :) So yeah, I think for most ppl, no medical reason, but for me there's a really good psychological preservation reason.
If a doc told me to wait, I'd want to know what the medical reason was. Other than that, I'm the best judge of what I can/can't cope with atm.
Still waiting for AF. Sigh.

Cookie...sorry to hear that your levels are taking so long to go down. I hope that whatever medical path they send you down works. Keep us posted, will be thinking of you.

Dory...I hope everything is going ok - not long until your scan we have everything crossed for you.
TTCALoveChild...3 months isn't that long but seems like an eternity when you are TTC doesn't it?!?...once you get AF can you get a scan to check the lining & make sure everything is ok? I didn't have a blighted ovum but my doc said that is what they will do will me just to make sure I am right for another FET. Just a thought...And definitely if you still have questions to be answered I'd definitely call or go & see the doc again.
Sarah...I have been reading your posts ever since you were pregnant with Juliette & was so sad to read your more recent story, I hope you are ok. I agree with Sunbeam, apart from helping with dating I think waiting has to do with the lining but as she said there are plenty of stories of people conceiving straight away with no problems.
Welcome Kirsten, sorry that you have had to join us in here. Hopefully you'll get your BFP sooner rather than later. I have heard that many people have conceived in the couple of cycles following a m/c so maybe you'll be one of them.
Sunbeam it sounds so promising will keep everything crossed for you.

Thank you ladies. The thing is that we have about a 1% chance of conceiving naturally so I'd like to take every chance we can get. We technically weren't TTC our angel (but we weren't preventing & were thrilled to be pregnant) but now I just have the desperate need to be pregnant again.
Yes Sarah that's right. Basically just for dating purposes... Sometimes the endometrium is not optimal - but most curettage now is a suction curettage - scraping isn't used. So this isn't really relevant.
I hope you get your results soon Sarah - it often takes up to 6 weeks to receive the report back from the lab. I hope it helps to give you some sense of peace. Big cuddles xxx :hug:

ps. I've also heard from a lot of places that you're more fertile immediately after a m/c but I have no idea why.

Sarah I completely understand the feeling of desperately wanting to fall PG straight away X I too was hoping to fall pg easy aftr mc as I had heard it was such a high chance after a loss, but I, like you, don't have much luck on my side for it to happen naturally.

AFM, well the big BT tomorrom AM. It feels silly having to have BT still when I feel it hasn't worked, but oh well, one for the books!!! (I'll take one for the team!!;)
Had my last crinone pessary 2 nights ago, thismorning woke up with not even a single cramp (thank you lord :pray:) Think the crinone pessaries have held off AF, for some women it can. Well I have had tiny niggles, but nothing compared to the last 2 weeks.
No more pessaries, mabey get the sex life heated up again!!!!!!!!!....:dance:

Jahzara (like the new name) glad af has almost gone for you. can i ask about the gender swaying, when do you stop dtd if you want to try for a girl? i'm only asking as we didn't dtd after day 18 so i'm thinking the worst that i missed the egg. but on the other hand spermies can live at least 2 or 3 days right?....

Kirsten and {sarah}, hi and welcome to the forum. hope you don't have to wait long for your next bfp, and i would take advantage of this time after m/c. it is supposed to be more fertile but i think that may be a rumor to get our hopes up after losing a little one. call me cynical.
TTCALoveChild sounds like your drs appointment has left you with more questions than you went in with. hope you get af back soon, then you should know where you are in your cycle. and maybe get dh checked out, it can't hurt. i don't think you need to wait 3 cycles.

afm didn't manage to dtd yesterday as i planned. last time was day 18 so i really hope i caught the egg as i think now it's day 21 it's passed ovulation day. :crossfingers: :fertilise:

Well a huge storm came over the Gold Coast at 3am this morning so of course I had to get up and let the cat in and then I had to pee. I Um'ed and Ar'ed about testing so early in the morning but they do say first morning pee is the best so I did 3 types of tests!!! Result :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :leap: so of course I've not been back to sleep since as I've found it is impossible to sleep with a big grin on your face :p. I know i should not be letting myself get so excited already but it's just not possible not to be. I am not due for a bt at the clinic till monday but too bad cos I'm going in today. I don't start work till 2pm and only have 3 clients so hopefully I can grab a nap before then.
Just on the test front. The test i got from the net ( the little strip ones with the blue end)is still only coming up very vaguely positive. If that was all I had i'd still not be convinced so my advice is don't trust them. I splashed out and treated myself to a "Clear Blue" yesterday (don't know how they can charge $15 for something you are just going to pee on!) but that and the confirm (3 for $10) were clear as.

and yes i have waited way to long.. and for this lil angel would of been our first child and we waited and ttc for 10 yrs to have her but got her takin from us!

I started on my pernatal pills today Yuck they are nasty tasting..LOL
My Df is also has the lil cup for his sperm testing..but we cant have intercourse for 3-5 days and then he has to do his thing then take it down to ER within 30 mins .
She did say she wanted to check himout first b4 going any further in checking me out.
so that is what we are doing but i do know once i start my first cycle im on it after that..
Honestly i think she is wanting me to wait 3 months cause i todl her i had copd which i do alsong with still smoking :( but have cut back to about 10 a day which is very good for me..
she wants me to work on that , so im thinking that is why she said 3 months..
BELIEVE me i want to stop but i have tried but i cant just stop on the dime i have stopped b4 and about had a nervous break down and i know its all matter over mind.
I told her about the putitary tumor and told her it was stable and she said well im more worried about the copd and smoking and then i said well once i start my first cycle will it be safe to ttc again and she was like no no no wait 3 cycles then ttc. she said i dont recommend birth pills so use condoms.. 10 yrs with my DF and we have never used condoms.,lol
This is MY first time seeing her i susually go to another one for the last 5 yrs but he moved 30 mins away from me and with winter sooo bad i cant get to him so it sucks cause he knows all about me..
i thinking once i get his sperm testing back and see what she says then if its not good enough for me i decided to drive the 30 min drive to see My other Gyn/ob doc..
i told her i had endometrois and she just changed the subject..lol i was like what " to my self" so i dont knwo if that is just how she is or wants to figure out what is going on if its my DF..
But he has 2 other children to a prior relationship so im confused as to why would he be the problem and he said the same thing..
I just dont want to keep ttc and nothing happens 'Honestly i cant go another 10 yrs :(
im 30 now and i would like to have a baby b4 i was 35 ..
i mean we know i can conceive its just that i had problems getting the baby to grow..
Ok well im getting tear eyed about all of this..
maybe once i get this first cycle i will feel much better..
Once i do get the first cycle i just need to know what i should do to next.. as this charting and all is alll new to me..

SPF - in regards to swaying for a girl (thats what we are doing) we will be having a cutoff of 3 or 4 days before 'O'. Which is CD 10 or 11 for me (I have a 28 day cycle)

Everybody sending well wishes, I thank you so very much, It is lovely to have such a supportive bunch of girls to fall back on XXX My poor DH is so nervouse about the result thisafternoon, even though I have warned him........
Oh thank god the lady that took my blood today is a close friend of mine, because as I sat there with the needle in my arm, I went from a cheerfull pink colour, to red, to white, in a whole of ten seconds, then vomited all over the place. OMG that has never happened to me before, I felt so ill, i was not even embarrassed by the mess I made! Woopsy. Had to sit there for a good while before I was allowed to leave....Yay.
And now, I was just cooking DH some lunch, and just realised it is still in the oven...................woopsy again, think we might just have pizza........:doh:
I have lost my head today, the official end day, and as much as I am glad it's over, I wish the result was the beginning of something. Just remembering how excited i was 2 weeks ago, till now, no confidence and a bit deflated.
