Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage/Loss - November 2009

Hi Girls,

I've been lurking again and just wanted to pass on my experience with those 10miu internet cheapy hpt. (for you Coco to help you through).

I bought the pregnow tests and started testing from 8dpo. consistent negatives. at about 11dpo i also started using the first reponse hpts. Yes I was a POAS-aholic - as if two bfn was going to confirm!?!?!? anyways, i was more curious to see exactly how good the 10miu ones were. so come to 12dpo, First Response gave me a BFP and pregnow was still clearly negative! First response is only meant to be 25miu (i think) so technically the pregnow should have been showing bfp way beforehand. it took untill about 15dpo for pregnow to show positive.

so moral of the story (well from my experience anyways) internet cheapy hpts aren't always as good as they claim to be and can give you bfn when you may actually be pregnant. Coco, if you can get some first reponse or other brand I'd give them a shot.

Just wanted to let you know what i found and keep positive, cause it really ain't over yet!

Ferals - i really hope AF comes for you soon. what a cow!?! comes when you don't want her and then makes you wait around when you do want her!?!?!?! strike her off the christmas card list!

Hope you all had a good weekend, those waiting for AF so sorry she playing with you this month and those waiting in the TWW goodluck and we need a BFP in this thread we got NOTHING last thread ! Come on someone please or we will have to rename the thread " all those wanting a BFP but not getting one !"
Murraycod your being quiet I hope your ok not too depressed at your BFN you have to keep positive you will get one I know you will,
Matthews mum whats going on with you did AF turn up or are you still waiting ! hope you tested too early !

Eliselouise85 I think we are in the TWW together now and as for the OPK sticks I was told to use in the afternoon around 3pm same time every day and was so glad I used them as I got a LH surge 3 days earlier than I thought I would so if it wasn't for them I think I may have :bd: on the wrong days. I think you def O sat by the sounds of things so :crossfingers: we both get a BFP soon,
Spfairy I think you have to tell your friend about your plans or your dress will not fit well and do you have to travel back to the UK ? for the wedding as its not really a good idea to fly long haul after 28wks anyways , think you have to tell her what your plans are. You could however be holding your bundle by next chrstmas and then need extra seating at the table !!!!!

AFM well I am in the TWW and don't know how I feel emotionally trying my hardest to stay positive but getting ready for the sadness I know I will feel if its a BFN, life is **** sometimes but we have to keep going, Like ferrals4 said I think I will throw in my towel soon too as this emotion rollercoaster ride is just not fun! I maybe think I have to accept my age is not on my side and live with it ! If I hadn't fallen pregnant in the first place I would have thought I was too old to have anymore, but to get pg and feel all those feelings for 12 wks and then be told you need a D&C the baby died is just too much !:shakehead:

BT was a BFN ladies. I'm a little surprised, but whatever. Possibly too early. Will still continue with plans.

I did another test and the dye has picked up on the test line...its an UBER faint line.I mean...REAAAAAALLY faint BUT. If you look at the testing area pad thing the dye is definately on the test line on the edges. :spit:

Im sure I am just being hopeful, but cant help it. :nahnah:

NOOOOO Getting your hopes up for me!! Im just going to ride this one out... :)

OK....So now the line seems to have dissapeared....but the dye is still on the tips of the test line on the pad of the testing area so.. *shrug*

Ive had this before and it was not a positive..wait and see i think. Stupid thing. :shakehead:

Just a quick post before i take my two youngest boys to tutoring the witch has turned up so i will have my BT in the morning and results by 5pm tomorrow i don't feel real confident about it but we will see anyway be back later for persies

Coco - I am lurking in this thread until you and Cherished get your sticky babies, I hope we can be belly buddies together again some day (not to soon again for me! but maybe with our second bubs!)
I looked at the pic you posted - are you talking about the line on the edges that runs horizontally? not sure what that means but wanted to tell you when I got my sticky bub I did the same test and the line was so faint (11dpo) that my DH and even the DOCTOR couldnt see the line it was so faint, but I could, i could also see the ye on the sides as well where the 2nd line was!

Twin Sister still looking good for you too! hope your ds is ok, that sounds awful. those things really itch. it must be annoying not knowing the cause. when the weather heats up i sometimes get them if i have been too hot during the night, but not that big! poor lad.

Emmy83 i can understand you not wanting your af when you have to have the surgery, especially if you know these people. hope you get it soon :) and that is bad them not telling you what they wrote on your notes. shouldn't we be told these things, it's our bodies!!!

coco41 i can't help you with the lines there, not sure which bit you are talking about :redface: i think you will get a pos this month though just have to wait a little longer :)

in other news i booked an u/s appointment but the earliest they can get me in is next monday! but today i have had no bleeding whatsoever, how can that be!!! thanks for advice on the dress will have to call her and let her know what is going on :)

It's 4:30 am and I can't sleep. I am so fricking congested and I can't stop coughing. Rather than lie in bed not sleeping, I made a trip to the loo. Still no spotting so I decided to test. OMG I'm shaking and crying as I write this....there was a faint second line! I seriously started sobbing! It's super faint, almost invisible, but I can see it! Gonna have to buy more tests today to see if it darkens up this week (just to be sure) then I'll call the Dr and make an appt.

Coco - I really hope it's a BFP for you too! You need to be my belly buddy!

SPF - glad the bleeding has finally stopped, it might still be useful to keep the U/S appt.

Ferrals - Finally! Glad she turned up on a day that will allow you to have your BT. Fingers crossed you get good results

Snuggly - sorry your BT was negative, but hopefully it was jut too early. Your symptoms still sound really promising.

craftymummy - Hugs to you. I hope you are able to have one more! It definitley makes you want it more doesn't it. i really hope your TWW goes well

ugh I need to stop coughing. If there really is someone in there I'm worried I'm going to dislodge it!!! I know that is not actually possible but the coughing is making my stomach hurt.

Thanks SPF! I can't stop staring at the test. It' so faint that I'm scared it's not real so I keep checking it every few minutes lol

AFM-Well i'm off to drop the boys at my sisters houe so she can take them to school and then i'm off for my dredded BT wish me luck and i am praying like there is no tomorrow for good results.

Thanks for all the congrats. I'm trying not to get too excited until i get a bit more obvious of a 2nd line. I went and looked at my test again (several hours later) and the 2nd line has faded away so I can't even stare at it anymore. I p/u a 2 pack of tests today so I can take another one tomorrow and maybe one at the end of the week (there's no way I can wait a few days for test #2 now that my BFP test is in the trash)

Twin Sister - Huge Congratulations. After i got my first very faint BFP i tested again the next morning without FMU and the line still came up. I think you should test again today. Im so excited for you. Its been too long between BFP's in here. I hope this is the start of a big roll of them.

Ferals - I have a strange question. I have a friend who losts twins at 24ish weeks over 12 months ago. I gave her a Christmas card yesterday but i didnt put the boys names on it and now i feel like maybe she will think ive forgotten them. She wrote their names on the cards she sent out last year. Do people put your beautiful Abbi's name on things like Christmas cards? Im unsure on what was the appropriate thing to do. Please dont answer if thats an inappropriate question. Maddison-i havn't recieved any card's just yet but my very close family and friend will mention abbi like when her due date came and went and when her birthday comes they asked what would i like to do things like that i talk about her all the time because i dont want people to forget her but i would not put her name on cards as she is not here celebrating x-mass ect and i feel it would put a bit of a downer on an otherwise happy occasion but if your friend likes to mention her boys and talks about them regularly maybe you could ask her if it would be somthing she would/wouldn't like if she add's them to card's maybe you could write to so and so thinking of you and your angle babies anyway i hope that helps and thanks for the good luck.

Twinsis that is so exciting, i think a faint line still generally means a BFP. Maybe do another test this arvo and see what you get from that one. Hopefully your the one to start our run of BFP's :bluedust:

SPF im with twinsis i would still keep the appt and if you have no more bleeding between now and then maybe you could cancel but if you do it cant hurt to have the U/S.
Coco not too sure about the photo, cant really see it very well. Hopefully you will have 2 definate lines when you test next. Thinking of you and everything is crossed. Also your vegie garden sounds great, i wish i had the time to do one of my own but im not really the gardening type haha

Craftmummy yay for being in the TWW together hopefully we can both get our BFP's. Im not feeling really hopeful (i think im just protecting my feelings so that im not absolutely shattered when i do test and see 1 line or AF turns up) Hopefully yours is a BFP though coz i dont think your ready to throw in the towel but i know how hard it is. AFM nothing at all happening, just playing the waiting game as per usual. Its way too hot and im not liking it at all. Wish i could just stay in the house with the ac on and not leave, but i suppose that wont pay the bills :lol:
