Just thought I would start a poll as this issue is very unique to each person. If you could please vote as to when you started trying again after miscarriage (before 20 weeks), so others can see the range of what people do. Thank you x

i think the poll might be quite different if you looked at early losses to later ones.
Yes its hard to do unless you make multiple polls I guess. At how many weeks is a miscarriage classed as a stillbirth?

After 20 weeks, a loss is legally a stillbirth in Australia.
After my second loss which was at 9wks I waited till my 3rd cycle. I needed to get back into the right headspace.
So, technically speaking this poll is up to 20 weeks - will amend first post.

i voted immediatly.
after my 1st mc i split with my partner and didnt have a baby till i met my hubby.
after my 2nd mc we tried straight away but it took 2.5 yrs to concieve again.
ive just recently had my 3rd mc and we have started trying straight away.
After my first loss, mcc 12& half weeks with d&c feb 03, ex hubby & I waited about 4 cycles & got pregnant pretty much straight away which result in an ectopic at 9wks & the loss of my left tube in aug 03.
This time, early mc may 13, we've tried again straight away & we're in the dreaded 2ww.....
I think the difference (for me anyway) has been the earliness (is that a word? lol) of the pregnancy, lack of medical intervention, a supportive partner & I feel stronger within myself & have coped better with the grief.
I had my first loss very recently and it was a very early loss at 4.2 weeks. However I'd tested on a hunch at 8 dpo to get a bfp so I'd known I was pregnant for 7 days...only mentioning these time frames because I'm not sure if you're counting really early losses. Anyway we are already trying again as my bleeding stopped after seven days and I got a clear bfn, no cramps, so thought my body was ready. Also having been told that with a chemical or early loss you can try again pretty much straight way. I'd agree with Hotl that early vs later losses would prob impact feeling ready to try again. That said, I believe based on my own emotional responses that even an early loss can have huge impact on confidence and general emotional well being.
first one, devastated me mentally and emotionally, we were told we could TTc straight away but I just couldn't handle that so said 3-6 months...
this last one has been a bit the same, given the green light to TTC asap but just can;t get my head around it...
I was advised to wait until I'd had at least one cycle, so we tried again after a month.
I'm going to go to the other end of the spectrum and say it depends on how early it is. Physiologically speaking, a chemical pregnancy (prior to 6-7 weeks) is different to a loss at 10-12 weeks.
we had a 19 week loss with natural delivery (no D&C), first cycle following loss we tried but had an annovulatory cycle, fell pregnant on the very next cycle. So 6 weeks following loss, I was pregnant again.
6 months, but it was a molar pregnancy, so that was the minimum for us.
I waited until after the EDD of my 18w miscarriage. I couldn't emotionally do it before then.
