With ID twins you would expect them to be the same size or a day apart up until around 12-13weeks before a variation would start occuring between them. Some stay very much the same size whilst other vary widely. With faternal twins there can be several days plus between them very early on due to them not fertilising or implanting at the same time. Its all very interesting.

i agree with Mildez- small towns make things out to be worse then what they are & do send u where the care is "just incase", better to be safe then sorry, but i really am praying ur lil ones will be fine!

Hi mummynelly, My boys are now 8mths old and I had gone through something simular with my pg they were monitoring me for TTTS because of the size of my little one and he also had low fluid they were looking at flying me to brisbane. I had to have 2 scans a week and at 25 weeks I had to go in to hospital for bedrest as my cervix was opening as well. The fluid of my little one didn't change through my pg but if it went any lower he would of been stuck. I ended up having them at 33wks and due to my little one having difficulties. The thing with TTTS is it can go from bad to worst in a matter of days. Do they scan his little bladder to see if its smaller then it should be thats another sign of TTTS especially with the one that has low fluid levels.
I can imagine how you must feel at this time.
I will be popping tomorrow to see how you scan went don't forget to ask heaps of question at your scans, whats that, whats this you feel a little better when you know what to look for when they zoom it on things.
I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you.

hi everyone, well we got back today from melbourne had to stay there for a whole week. Firstly, THANK GOD for the sonographer that did the ultrasound!! If i didnt see her early (she was going to be on hols the week she originally was going to see me) and if she didnt pick up on the TTTS then i wouldn't have 2 babies right now. The bladders were looked at during the scan on monday and the fluid had reduced, i went back wednesday to see how rapidly it had changed (i was borderline mild to severe TTTS) and it had progressed so i went into surgery the next day. Before the surgery he did a quick scan to work out the best spot to go into my belly and the little one had no fluid around it and no bladder (we knew about it not producing urine anymore the day b4). It was horrible to see!! I was meant to have the original scan that day hence why im so grateful for the sonographer having holidays! There was only the membrane around the bub so he did the laser surgery and lasered all the vessels that joined the babies umbilical cords. The following day, about 26hrs later i had a quick scan to make sure they were both still alive and was so amazed to see both had fluid around them. I've been feeling them move alot more too!! Hardly felt them b4. Still need to go back thursday and find out how successful the surgery was. The doctor doing the rounds at the hospital was amazed a country sonographer could pick up TTTS lol.
