Thanks Trish!
They are pretty cute but I'm not biased at all LOL!!!:p
I can't believe they are almost 6 months old - the time has flown ! They (and you) have done so well considering born 10 weeks early.
Thanks, hun and I can't believe we are going to meet your beautiful little guys so soon!!!!!!
I bet it seems like for ever for you now but for me the time has just flown.
C'mon, give me a hint with names...PLEASE!
;) ... just want the next 7 weeks to fly or to go sleep and wake up holding them ... I enjoy being pregnant :bellygrowing: but not for the worry that goes with it.
I SO understand that!
Hugs to you, praying it goes swiftly and safely
Thinking of you Kel
Rylee and Declan are just gorgeous too -their nursery is beautiful Tam - how are you all doing ?
Any news yet from Miskell?
I was just wondering girls, did you ever find that you constantly worried about things that would never bother you when you weren't pregnant? I'm going slightly crazy thinking about things, that I wouldn't normally consider, and I've been a bit of an emotional wreck. I feel terrible cause I stress about things, and I'm also a natural worrier, but I seem to be taking it to the extreme. I hope that others have felt this way, cause I'll look like an idiot otherwise! I'm thinking about doing some meditation so I can let go of things and not dwell on stuff.
Sorry for the down post.
Emma.
Emma - there is a post in birth announcements -
Yes - I confess to be being a closet worrier about everything and more so with twins - especially at night .It is very normal and I try to calm myself too by  not actually meditating but slowing down my thoughts and thinking of reasonable reasons why it is not going to happen.
Take care and remember you can vent here ... we all understand - we aren't the only ones to worry -juts browse BB for an hour and see all the things that worry others (but don't add them to yours)
We have been a bit quiet in here, just thought I'd bump this up, for the newer mums of twins ( and I hear a triplets mum to be too!!)
HI all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hello:
yes it has been quiet - I have 31 days to go and then there are only the new mums to BB and this thread.
Triplets????? Really????
Hi, DH and I were only told that we were having twins at our first ultrasound at 19 weeks. We had asked the midwife and doctor earlier in the pg, but they just said that as I have had 2 previous single babies, my body had just filled out and not too worry about it. Boy was she wrong!
After being in shock, we now love the thought of twins, even though whenever they are born, it will mean 4 kidlets under 4!
I hope you don't mind if I ask lots of questions as we don't know anybody who has had twins, so we don't really know what to expect.
Well done KarlaO. Yay more twins!!!!
Ask away any q's you like. My twins (boy/girl) are now 5 months old. We are travelling really well now. Do you know what you are having????
Welcome, I am an "old " twins mum, my identical girls are 7 1/2 Ask away, you will find a myriad of experiences here.
WELCOME KarlaO!
Congratulations!
I am an old and a new twins mum, my first set turned 10 today! and my babies are 6 months!
Looking forward to getting to know you
Thanks everybody!
Well for starters, did you have natural or cs births, and did you decide to breast or bottle feed, and if breast feeding after a cs, did you have much trouble?
Sorry about the questions, but I really don't know much yet!
KarlaO got for it.
Well we were all set for natural - got to 9cm but then one of the twins went into ditress and I started to develop severe pre eclampsia so we ended up with an emerg c/s. Much to my disappointment as I went into natural labour and the whole pgwas actually great!!!
I decided to breastfeed and found it fine after the c/s. We only managed to breastfeed however until the babes were 3.5 mths as they were not sucking properly and had started to lose weight. They out this down to them being premmie and my great milk supply, that when the milk started to adjust at 6 weeks, the babes did not want to suck as it had flowed prior to this. We perservered for a while longer, but they arenow on the bottle and have just started rice ceral.
Thanks Tam,
How many weeks were you? And was it a spontaneous labour or induced? (Sorry if it's too personal).
I was 36 weeks and it was spontaneous, sprung a leak...lol
Tam,
I checked out your website again, I cant believe how quickly Declan & Rylee are growing, they are so gorgeous!!!!!
Thanks - your 2 aren't too bad either!!!!
Hee hee...... They are growing so quickly, I bet your amazed every day by them...
I know I get home from work & just play with the girls, until DH serves dinner... hee hee I am just so in love with them & the things Maddy says does & Indah getting into everything!!
They are precious joys hey!! Enjoy them while they are small they grow so quickly!!!
all the best matey!!!!
I was 33 weeks 3 days and sprung a leak, they were born vaginally, after 2 1/2 hrs weighing 2110 and 2115. I bf til they were 14 months, they were tube fed for the first 2 weeks EBM, they had LOTS of trouble, and didnt bf properly til about 4 months, we had lactation consultants, day stays and a week stay is a parenting unit we had mastits x3 and cracked nipples, etc etc, but I am a stubborn wench and perservered ( my first so I had time to do so )
Thanks Tam & mumofbundlesofjoy,
The information from the OB's had me thinking that a c/s was just about certain, so knowing that I can have a chance at a vaginal birth is great!
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
I just thought I would write a post to say that I am still alive and well. Torin and Siobhan are doing well and have their 6 month check up next saturday. They are starting to need a lot more attention so with them and my 2 yr old I have little time to scratch myself let alone get on here. I have photos of them on my website if you are interested in looking.
We will be separating them in 2 weeks as they are still currently sharing a cot. I love watching them sleep as they hold hands and cuddle but they are getting too big to share now :(
I hope everyone else is well.
Clare
Wonderwoman that has gone quick - congratulations on 6 months already -great they are doing so well. They sound so cute - I want to sleep mine together - do you sleep them side by side in cot ?
I have a question for twin mums -might sound silly but how did you know you were in labour was springing a leak the first sign , contractions or what other signs ?
Don't get excited not that I have anything I am worried about - but I am told 50% of twins arrive before 37-38 wks anyway.
Vanita - you are amazing to have persevered with BF
Karlo- welcome - I am having c/s because both babies are breech but it what I preferred anyway. I am planning to b/f
With two of my labours the first signs were a massive woosh of waters ( no little leak, it was a huge gush) On the third it was contractions regularly.
thanks Vanita - knowing makes me better prepared ... better leave the plastic on seats when we get new car  and put plastic drawsheet /something under the mattress too ?
I heard amniotic fluid ruins upholstery /fabric ?
The OB never said that about waters breaking. How long after water breaking did contractions start ? and babies were born ?
How much time did you have to get to hospital ?
My last pregnancy :angel2: Charlotte was tiny @26wks - and I was induced - So I had contractions first and after waters broke in whoosh - she was maybe born 5 mins later.
Contractions with the twins didnt start for a few hrs, and were very mild. They put up the drip, to speed things up as they were 33 weeks and they wanted them out, they were born 2 1/2 hrs after the contractions started.
Contractions started straight away with #3 but she wasnt born for about 4 hrs ( and they emerg csec'd her as she was diagonal) but if properly positioned I would think would have been quick as she was 36 weeks, and I was having minutely cx.
had cx first with #4 and he took about 8 hrs ( was term and 4625 gm)
I have slept them side by side since the first day they came home. SIDS tell you to put them head to head so they can't pull covers over each other etc... but I thought if they are going to share they will want to see each other not placed head to head. That was just my opinion though. I have had no problems though.:
Hi Everyone,
I am still here!!! I am doing well and so are the twins. They are great babies and I am finding it a piece of cake so far! I am just a lot busier than I ever have been so therefore posting on here is kept to a minimum!
I am finding that Jack sleeps between 3-5 hours at night and wakes ever so starving! (Must be a boy thang!) and Charlee sleeps between 4-6 hours. She is a tiny little thing still! They sleep together in the portacot in my room and at first we had them apart with rolled up cloth nappies in between them However this DID NOT work so now they are back to back, touching and they are so so happy like this! When one wakes the other doesnt even stir. I think we are pretty spoiled myself.
Anyway Jack is screaming for morning tea, so better go....
Love Kel
Trish, my first sign was a trickle of fluid. Then 2 hours latermy first contraction. I am just bumbed that I only got to 9cm beforethe emerg c/s wasperformed. I would have loved to continue vaginally, but oh well.
Clare good to see you are still about. These bubs sure take up a lot of time, hey???
ClareI don't know how you did it with both in the one cot, my2 have been in their own cot from day one. Way too active to share a cot.
Kel great to hear things are going so well!!!
Our babes are on solids now, rice ceral at night for the last week, but tonight they had their first dinner - pumpkin and now rice ceral will be in the morning. They are still having 5 bottles a day, only just starting on the solids.
Quite a few people have commented on them still being in the same cot. They are very active and will often smack each other in the head whilst sleeping but it never wakes the other up. If one is crying it doesn't wake the other as well, which is fantastic.
They are certainly taking up more time now that they are rolling ARGGGHHHH!!! What with them rolling and a 2 yr old to control there is very little time for me to even scratch myself.
Siobhan is on solids every night now (rice cereal mixed with a fruit of some sort) but Torin isn't interested yet but I do try to give him some every other night to get him used to it.
Well they have been moved :( but it all went well, they both slept through like normal YAY!!
Oh Clare,
Are you sad?
It's another milestone, isn't it?
I was so sad when my two didn't sleep together anymore.
Hugs to you and so glad they slept through
