    Night weaning suggestions and support

The WHO recommends exclusive bfing for six months of age and breastfeeding until two years or beyond. Breastmilk is the most important component of your child's diet for the first 12 months of life. However, at some point after 12 months, for lifestyle, or other reasons (such as returning fertlity), some mothers might decide to night wean (I was one of them - work after a night of no sleep wasn't going so well!).

For those of you who are currently night weaning, or would like more information on night weaning, here is a good place to start:

    Dr Jay Gordon https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...eppattern.html
Kellymom has a section on night weaning
The ABA's article on weaning has some good tips that you can apply to night-times only here

And here are some previous threads that contain information you might find useful:

And just for good measure, to remind you of what a great job you're doing bfing your toddler! Breastfeed a Toddler - Why on Earth?
