ROFL Ally i reckon you should have a kitchen tea party with a ' demanded ' request for gifts to be from the Bunnings hardware register and then everyone eats lots of cakes on that arvo and come that night of your 21st on the same day when every one arrives that night you hand them a plastic bucket from Bunnings to throw up in later at least then people can see where ' their money ' was spent :ROFL::
LOL Ally - you laugh at doing a registry for your DD's birthday but I don't think that day is far off!!! I think it is already happening in the good old USA!
I vote for skipping the KT as well.
It is perfectly understandable just to RSVP with a polite "I regret I will be unable to attend the kitchen tea." You don't even have to say why. If you're pushed just say that you have a prior committment on that day... which you do, it is a committment not to go broke before the wedding :lol: or more importantly, DD's birthday!!

Just had another thought - you can organise a gift registry at Tiffany & Co!! Imagine that!!!!!!!
How bout a baby shower registry? That's already happening here... Babies R Us offer the service!

The friend who organised my baby shower wanted me to have a registry I said no way!
Yup no KT for me...my guess is the buck's party would be on the same night so an expensive night for DH too and no way he'd me in any shape to look after DS the next day. Thankfully having a little one is always an adequate excuse to get out of things.
Wow! Usually kitchen teas are simply kitcheny gifts - tea towels, kitchen gadgets, etc. I can't imagine having a registry for it - then I don't like having a registry for wedding gifts either. Another idea is a recipe party - where you take in all your favourite recipes for the bride.
............ Nah thought you were talking about your own 21st (unless your DS is one very oldish baby :lol:)
