I got 3/4 of the way down the aisle (after organising a 3yr old, 7yr old & 9yr old perfectly to walk before me... in time... perfectly apart) just to where everyone could see me (it was an outdoor wedding so I just came through the garden in front of everyone) & had DH's grandmother yell 'Stop the music, start again, start again!' because MIL was late and was still arriving
F%@#ing MIL is always late... and its always about her!!! I thought my mum was going to murder her
So we had to turn around, start the music & start again... and of course the kids didn't do so well the second time ;)
We were married in the vineyards & after a really mild week of weather we copped a 43 degree day - and our wedding was at 9.30am, we had a champagne breakfast!!!
Poor DH wore a white suit by the pool at the resort - he hates all of our wedding photos because you can see the sweat all over him & his clothes in every one!
Not much you can do about weather though... and I agree with BG - you can't sweat the small stuff... some things are beyond your control ;) (Unless of course, you have a MIL like mine & I really should've known ;))
Best of luck hun - it will be fabulous :D

Corr my MIL went to pee  before the ceremony and on rushing back tried to push in front of me so she would have walked down the isle to the wedding theme instead of me
*smacks self, be nice*

the only thing that majorily went wrong on my wedding day is that I turned up - I should have gone with gut instinct and not shown up, don't get me wrong I loved the guy - I was just in the totally wrong headspace to get married at that point in time
Everything will be fine - I went to the microsoft site and downloaded some wedding templates for things like photo checklists (for photographer so they know the type of photos to take), emergency kits for the brides etc.

I had a blackout at the reception centre, but all ended well and most people thought the reception was meant to be candle lit.

We were paying for wine by the bottle, rather than a 5hr drink package, when it came time for the speeches and toasts no-one asked for the bubbly to be served, so all toasts were done with wine. I only realised after we had gone home, so it wasn't such a big problem, though a little dissapointed as what is a wedding without Champagne?
The other was I had a 3 tire cake, the top layer being fruit, the bottom 2 chocolate mud cake. The fruit cake was for the few traditionlay rellies who like fruit cake, which I don't. Anyway I assume they served up all the cake, as I didn't have any to take home after, I don't know if they had some left over out the back, either way they never gave it back to me. I didn't have a large wedding either.
I also have a friend who was buying wine by the bottle, over a drinks package and her reception centre kept clearing away her half full/empty wine glass whenever she walked away from it to socialise with guests. At one point she left a note on it asking for it the be left and it was still cleared away. She was annoyed at the thought that if this was happening to many guests, that she was paying for alot of wine to be thrown out.

At DP's brothers Wedding his other brother as the groomsman fainted in the middle of the ceremony and it had to be stopped for a little while then it restarted for the Groom also almost fainting & sweating like a pig ... so the rest of the ceremony was taken with the Groom & Bride sitting on a chair each ... and the groomsman sitting in the front pew.
It was a freezing Winter day in Olinda but what happened was in the small chapel with the combination of the heating, large windows with condensation & many people it actually became humid the weather inside.
Needless to say it turned out to be a great Wedding and if anything it was a great one to remember as we could have a fantastic laugh about it later ;) ... Apparently all the fainting going on at the ceremony was edited by the married couple's choice from the DVD and the DVD still turned out lovely :D
*** FutureMum sounds like the MIL from hell, hope she has gotten better over time (sounds like something my own Mum would do) !!

She's okaaaaay
Just I got a bit miffed when for ages after she accused my family of not talking to her when I know for a fact they did because I saw them.

Oh all these things that go wrong just make for great stories later!! They are the stuff that you will recount to your kids and laugh about together!!
Me, I really didn't have anything go wrong. But.... we did get a couple of those funny stories....but overall I consider my day as perfect!
On the way down the aisle, I had both my parents walking behind me because all 3 of us couldn't fit at the same time (small church!!) and my Dad stepped on my veil causing me to bend over backwards!Lucky it was put in really well by the hairdresser!!
On the way to getting our photos done we were driving in our convertible mustang when a bird flew overhead and did an enormous plop on DH. It got his jacket, tie, waistcoat and shirt!! Oh how I laughed... I thought it was hilarious! We had a white towel with us thankfully and with a little bottled water it all came off with no issues. Couldn't even tell it had happened!
All i can suggest is just laugh at anything that goes wrong, by the time you get to the day, there is nothing you can do. With all your planning you have done the best you can and the rest is out of your control. Another suggestion you could do is allocate someone close who you trust who is not part of the wedding party to be your worrier. All concerns or issues are to go through them! And trust them to take care of it. :D
Enjoy your big day - I had a ball!

Our chef quit at 10am on the day of the wedding (dinner reception) after having a fight with the owner of the restaurant. However, the owner and his wife cooked all the food we'd ordered to perfection and I didn't even know about the chef until after the wedding.
I also got bitten on the bum by some sort of insect under my wedding dress ( must have been after those lovely outdoorsy photos earlier). I was a bit freaked as I thought I might have to been taken off by ambulance to get some anti-venom but turns out it was something harmless - the kitchen lent us a bit of vinegar and paper towel and all was fine. I still laugh at the image of myself in my big gown surrounded by guests in the ladies toilets all offering to take at look at my bum and the bite!
I think you have to have something minor go wrong to laugh about it in years to come!
