BG, you're my friend, you have to say that! xxx
I went to the new area. I know jack about what they want to do, but I now know why they wanted me. The program officer manager, who is the person I have to work with, is the most difficult man IN THE WORLD. But we had a robust discussion in which I had schmooze at full volume, plus develop brass balls if he tried to push me around, and he caved after 3 hours and is giving us the information he has refused to provide to anyone for 3 weeks. That's going to the other girl now to sort out and I will liaise between the two.
When I went back and saw my manager, he was ecstatic. He then said that the other girl 'builds us what we need', whereas I 'get what we need'. Can't really be unhappy about that, I guess.

That sounds like a good partnership.
Sexy women who work in bars certainly earn more tips than their non-sexy peers. And TBH sexy is about working it as much as it is about being genetically blessed.

Sounds like they have the right ladies doing the right jobs to me. Good on you for getting a great result.

It sounds like a bit of a copout on her part for her lack of people skills ie. they cooperate with you because you're good looking. When really the truth is probably that they cooperate with you because you're friendly, persistent and deliver on your promises.
My better-looking boss butted heads with our union guy. I had him eating out of the palm of my hand because I actually listened to him rather than treating him like a pain in the butt (which he was) and did what I said I was going to. Nothing to do with looks.

Difficult new person I was working with, who reluctantly promised me that he would deliver the outcomes he has refused to give up for the last three weeks, now is choosing to work with the technically skilled chick to help him deliver these outcomes. Which means I'm sitting here, drinking coffee and doing an easy peasy report for the PMO that's not urgent.
I am deliriously happy.
Oh and PS, I suspected but only found out today that Mr Difficult Man is on the spectrum. I dealt with him the same way I deal with Charlie, which was to speak calmly, try to keep him focussed on the outcomes, not argue so as not to feed into the build-up and distracted him every time he started to flap. He now feels uncomfortable talking to me, because I think, I got him to agree to what he had adamantly refused to agree to, and he now feels like he's lost his position of power.
Soooooo funny.
