Hey
Sorry, its been a while since ive poped in, i cant say its coz isabells been keeping me on my feet either...
The only person teething in this house is me...one of my wisdom teeth are cutting thru, surprisingly it doesnt hurt, just sharp :) but with the way isabells been the past few days, i wouldnt be surprised if she cut a tooth...but then it could also be a million and one other things...
I got "THe Wonder Weeks" the other day, and it is so amazing to know about all the fussy periods, and why they happen.
Our bubs are looking to have a clingy fussy period soon...and can lats for 4 weeks!!! Im horrified, i keep thinking that this is what isabell is experiencing, but then i think its not...its all so confusing.
Any way its coz at this stage bubs are realising that mummy can distance themselves from them, and bubs being immobile they get clingy and upset, but they usually start being mobile after this fussy period...
Isabell is spinning herself around when on her tummy, and trying to get her legs under her to get in the crawling position. And on occasion has moved .5 of a metre by slightly commando crawling.
But apart from all that not much happening with us lol. Trying to sell our house, which is annoying coz we are getting nowhere...and i really wanna move, like NOW lol...
Going to visit IL's on wednesday, good 2-3 hour trip, so hoping isabell sleeping thru it.
Oh my gosh! Isabell is sitting on my lap and litereally exploding!! Her poor bum!! Nappy time i think!! Eugh!

Hi everyone, sorry to have been MIA, have no excuse, just couldn't be bothered...
Anyway, I have to agree that we have a gorgeous looking bunch of babies in this group, everywhere I go people are always saying how gorgeous Oliver is and it is then followed by OMG look at his hair it's beautiful LOL
Have booked my trip to Tassie, me and the 2 boys fly out on the 4th Jan and then back home on the 17th Jan, DH probably won't be able to get any time off work as he just started a new job, but my mum is very excited and has lots planned for us to do, although the first day there we will be going shopping for a stroller as the Jogger I have now won't fit in my mum and dads small car.
Anyway, sorry for no personals, but I promise I will back tomorrow :)

Ok...well...I do apologise for being AWOL.
We are in teething hell at the moment.
My poor little fella has cut his first tooth with no hiccups, but the following ones are giving him a tonne of grief...
He wants his dummy, but it must hurt...wants a bottle, but spits it out, wants to sleep, but just can't settle, wants to be cuddle, but then arches his back when you sit with him (altitude disease!)
We've tried all I can think of at this stage:
Baltic Amber teething necklace (and bracelet)
Bonjela
SM33
Brauers Teething relief
Horleys teething tablets
cold things (including vegies, but he won't eat them cold
rusks
Chompy toys
Chomping on mummy
Panadol works as a last resort, but we don't want to do that too often.
People keep suggesting Nurofen, but I have an anaphylactic reaction to it so we don't want to risk that!
My last line of defense is trying to hunt down 2 of the TLISMI MOTI indian teething pendant (apparently 2 works better than one).
I've found them on ebay, but they will take 2 weeks to get here!
My sister is a nanny in london and the little fella she looks after is 12months old, cut his first 5 teeth, then a massive back molar, she said he had no dramas, and he wears 2 of the TLISMI MOTI pendants....
I just need to find some in Oz.
-
BabyWrangler poor BJ, his gums must be so sore. Never heard of the neclaces before, will be interesting to see if they work if you manage to get them in Oz.
Me, well nothing much happening here, Oliver seems to have developed a bit of a cold and has a yucky cough and a runny nose but seems well enough with it though, just a little bit grumpier, not much.
Had to laugh this morning at Anthony, he had to work this morning but he went out to a party last night and I warned him not to drink too much as there is nothing worse than going to work with a hangover, did he listen to me, the answer to that question would be no LOL, he looked like *****, he said he was never going to drink again, LOL I used to say that too, never followed through with it though, now I hardly ever drink as I hate the 'morning after, the night before'
-
SHARON LOL at your drinking post. Like kids ever listen to their parents. DH is suffering for drinking last night, I just suffer fo rnot sleeping these days, DH has a double dose as Greer is a screamer - also has altitude disease  like BJ. Could be teeth, I might need those pendants too BW, got my first nipple chomp this morning.
Been reading a bit whilst not online and have found some really helpful information as to why we as mums should not expect DH, DP etc to be the same as we are with the kids. Apparently one of the chemicals involved with pregnancy is what makes us more sacrafical. This reading and listening to DH tell me the woes of his friends with their wives has made me realise just how important it is to take the time to give a little intimacy to DH every day, even if it is just a quick hug or kiss to keep our relationship happy as we adjust to having a child to disrupt our happy home ;)
Screaming wriggler is too much GTG
-
Well whilst he wasn't velcro baby with altitude disease today, my poor little fella was still not overly cheerful today, we have been teaching him form day one to put his arms up when he wants to get up, well today, he must have seriously strengthened his muscles, those little arms were up every time he was down.
I havent managed to find the pendants anywhere locally, so I've just bitten the bullet and bought the ebay ones...I checked the sellers rating, and someone who bought theres on the 28th of september, left feedback on October 3rd saying they had arrived, so thats encouraging!
It was funny too, this morning they had 4 for sale, and when I logged back in to buy some tonight, there was only 2 left, thank god for that...I needed 2!!
Dh and I have been seriously on the rocks of late (to the point where DH was talking about leaving, but for now...I think we've gotten over it.....fingers crossed...I'm sick of looking like a gold fish).
I'm so proud of myself, I finished all our ironing today (there was loads and loads of it!)
Sharon, I had to laugh at your post about Anthony, I have to admit, I don't drink, never have, so I don't really understand the concept of a hangover, but it always cracks me up when someone is warned, and they do it anyway, and then are horrid the next day!!!

HI ladies, I really have been MIA. no excuse other than busy at work and busy with Luke. I don't seem to get to do any personal emailling/posting anymore! Luke is going great guns - almost 11kg's now and has just started rolling over but he can sit up on his own. I think it has taken him a while cause there is so much to roll!!! Still sleeping beautifully and still BF in mornings and evenings. I have had trouble with him refusing me during the day - my lazy boy would prefer the bottle where it comes out easy and he doesn't have to work for it! WIll be trying to get rid of the last 2 feeds soon though.
Glad to hear that everyone is doing well.
BW sorry to hear that you and DH are having troubles. I hope that things get easier soon. It may help to get some counselling - having a baby is one of the most disruptive things to a relationship.
-
Hi ShellBell good to see you!
Wow 11kg....my son is a pip squeak, he has just broken the 7.5kg barrier!
Benjamin is rolling well, can go back to front and front to back, but isn't one of those kids that you put in one place and come back to find they've rolled all the way to under the table or something (yay!!!).
He CAN sit up on his own if I let him, he has the muscle control, but we never let him (anal child development trained mummy!)
Dh and I seem to be ok now..he went out yesterday (after a MASSIVE fight) and seems to have done some soul searching and has come back in a much better frame of mind.
I agree that having a baby is disruptive, but unfortunately for me...Dh has been this way for years.
Depression runs in his family...and whist he tells me he hasn't been truely happy for 30 years....theres no way he has depression....(according to him)
So be it...all is good for now :D
Poor Benjamin had a shocker last night with his teeth...over the course of the night from 5pm til 8:30am he'd had 3 doses of panadol and sm33 every 3 hours.....and still no more teeth have popped out!!

Hay Everyone,
my apoligies for being Awol for past few weeks. i have been lurking and keeping posted though.
BW - Russell loves ice , i wrap it in one of his flannells. Also Freezing fruit works and putting in this little bag with holes in. I got it at woolies it has a ring to hold onto and a mesh bag to put the food in. stops him getting chunks that he might choke on but gives him the benefit of the fruit. i put frozen mandarin in it oneday, while his teeth were hurting and he loved it, tassted good and soothed his gums.
Update.
Had DPs 21st B'day party on friday night here at te house, hence the Mia. he gave me 2 weeks notice to organise it and pull it together, but was anabsolute hit. hes still picking up the peices. Piked his own party at 11 pm nd i wasup till 12 pm the next day(after a 4am start friday.) my parents moved house and gave us furniture so have moved the whole house aroud to fit the furniture and have the party.
Had about 40 people come and i made him a cakee that turned out awesome. was cholcate hazelnut liqeur layer cake with choclat wafers and strawberries. Hes also a computer nut so instead of getting him a key cos thats not his thing i organised a new computer case and had everyone sign that. he also got to a new BBQ and top of the line PC gear. whole night set us back around 2 grand but i haven't seen him this happy in a real long time. but now the morning after the morning after the night before has hit and its time to clean up.
oh and his parents who have barley spoken in 12 years both came and kept the peace. so YaY
Russell is a big boy goes for his shots next week week will update his specs then. s teething, chomping like mad, sitting up byhimself , walking with help and almost crawling. he is so keen to get on the move that if he wants down he stiffens like a board rolls over and tries to launch himself off you to the floor. hes saying dad, hay dad and mum . has a pretty standard routine, 1 long sleep or 2 short throuhg the day, three meals 4-5 bottles and sleeps from 7-8pm till 4 am wakese for a bottle and back to bed till 6-7. so hes just cruising along.
I am exhausted and now till the end of january is our busiest time of the year socially. so thats whats happening hear in dreary brisbane.

HI Nettie.
Im going to be getting one of those net things when I happen to remember in a shop that has them...I always remember in shops that dont sell them!
On the other hand, Benjamin is loving chomping on sticks of carrot so I'm ok with that.
They are nice and hard, and nice and cool and thats what he needs.
-
Afternoon all,
Sorry for being MIA, but is just some quite in here I only check every few days now, the I have lots more to read.
OK, so I am so bad, Wyatt is 5 months and he still doesn't have alot of soilds. It's my fault, as I get to wrapped up in doing everything for everyone else. He is just happy lying down. I have started to give him a biscute to suck on, and loving them. But when I do steam and mass/blend up his food he just doesn't like it. I really don't know what else to try to start to make him eat.
Things I've tried are sweet potato, carrots, brocil, apples, bananas, pumpkin, baby rice, toast.
I am not really sure as to what he can have to start on which wont block him up to start with. I NEED HELP . . . .
On the growth side I am still unsure, as I wont go back to CHN, as last time one was going to report me to CSS when Wyatt was 2weeks old and had lots 20g. No come on... Anyway when he had his 4 month old needs he was near 8kg. So I was proud. He is bounding along. I brought some baby scales from ebay about 2 weeks ago now, so they should be here any day now. Then will do regular checks.
He too can also roll to tummy flat out. He can't go to back like I thought, it was Landon pushing back on his back. Wyatt just put his head down and rest when he has had enough, or starts yelling.
ATM he as go cold. Dista brought it home from school. BAD DISTA... Was up 9 times with poor little bugger, he couldn't breath, noise blocked. Anyway we seem to be a tail end of it now. DH has jsut started though.
-
Just thought I would break them up as I already did hugh post and lost it. So slip just in case then I only have to re-type half.
Talking about busy social lives, we are the same. Speedway season, had kicked back off. I'm not a supporter I don't even known which cars are what. My DH is a sponsor and we get 2 VIP gold keys every season. So I go to get our money's worth. It was Wyatt's first time, and he was really good. He was in his ergo from 4:30 - 9:30pm only got him out twice and he was ok. Mind you he wasn't well either.
It will only get busy from here on in. It is also igrration season, and we go out and help DH move it, and rol hose up and re-set it out. I give me a break, kids are our side with DH. I am not looking forward to it, 'cos if anyone else DH is like me, he will take us somewhere just so I wont nag him, then will leave me to fight with kids on own.
We had bathurst which was ok, not as good as previuos yeatrs, too many poeple. WE normal go to mates watch the starting first few last on TV and we race old broken down cars around motorbike track. just to many, lots of people, lots of kids, an idot rolled a car going over jump. It was good when there were only the normal people, but there are so many new people, some is going to get hurt, so they jsut don't listen. We as us oldies, know the rules, since we help make them and enforce them.
I have asked my parents to come down for my daughter 10 birthday which is 2 Nov, and I paid for their trip. However now my big sister has gotten wind they are coming have decided our parents can stay with them. I'm not impressed. She said she would pay to extend their the trip so I went and did that, and paid out on my pocket. DH is not impressed. He told me I should have stayed out of it, as we (parents and I) had agree on 4 days before, and now its 11 days. Anyway i spoke to my mum, and told her about it, and said if my sister doesnt give me the money back to extend there stay, then they can stay up here. That is my sister for you, so will send BIL a text and he will pay me back. And I know not to do it in future. It's not a money problem or anything, it I've gone out of my way, on her word she would give it to me next time I saw her and she didn't. Its a trust thing. I should be able to trust family.
Well I have decided it was that time again to get on nagging DH about getting kitchen done. Then after xmas I am just going to start planning our real wedding.. Which will be great fun. Just hope I don't fall pregnant again or it will be put off for another few years.
Well I think I have board you all enough, will chat later on cheers.

SNAP..... IT WORKED....
I rung DH Granny, and she told me to add some butter to potato and a pinch of salt. Well then I got on the children hospital (westmead) and they say aim for 5 little spoons fulls, unsat out at on meal. Then up by 1-2. I said 7 and we have 10. I know it's only 3 more but he didn't spit any out. I had a try, and it tasted very different to mashed potato.
Anyway I better go DS1 is waiting for ice-cream .
Oh the santa trick is starting to work with him ATM.
-
Ive been lucky with Benjamin, a little pesistance and he has been eating everything no dramas, he LOVES carrot (raw and cooked), and at the moment eats probably a cup to a cup and a half of vegies.
Most are just mashed now, and he loves them with rice added.
Next week or the week after we will start adding some mince or chicken or something, then the week after that (or so) he'll start havig lunch, and at that stage it will be fruit (he's not had fruit yet).
I'm going to start him on weetbix soon too...just for a change form his rice cereal, we'll alternate them.
-
Sarah my CHN said that there was no real need to PUSH the solids thing until at least 6 months, I have been really half ar$ed in my attempts to get Oliver eating solids, he has been having pumpkin and sweet potato (just mashed with cooled boiled water) for about 6 weeks now, maybe a little less with a few attempts to get him to eat rice cereal with no real success but this morning I offered him his cereal when he first got up instead of bottle first and he scoffed the lot and then an hour later nearly finished his bottle, whereas before, he would have bottle first and only have about 80ml because he just wanted to play and then he was getting too tired to get him to sit up and eat, I am also going to give him lunch starting from today too.
BabyWrangler Oliver loves his vegies too, I have always been told they shouldn't have raw carrot at this age, but if he's enjoying it and not breaking off big chunks, then go for it. Ollie also loves the rusk biscuits, he can suck/gum on one of those for ages. I'm starting lunch today, and will start out with only 2 cubes of vegies and will get some petit miam yoghurt this week to try him on as it will be handy to give him for lunch if we are out instead of trying to get his food heated, or mashed banana can be good too, as soon as his vegies start going cold he gags LOL he's just like his mum, hates anything cold that should be hot. Will wait till we have got our new routine going well before I introduce weet-bix
Zennie we used to give jordan a face washer that had been put in the freezer while it was damp, he would chew/suck on it for ages, was great for his gums I had forgoten about it until you mentioned Russell having ice in a face washer.
shellbell nice to see you, it must be hard trying to find 'you' time when you are working full time and looking after a family, we fully understand and will take what we can get :D I can't believe how big Luke is, WOW, Oliver isn't even 8kg yet his weight gain has really slowed right down since birth, he is now below the 50th percentile for his weight at his age, can't believe he is sitting up on his own, Oliver has a little time on the floor where he sits up but he still usually falls over.
All this talk about food is making me hungry LOL
Oliver has a really nasty cough at the moment, and has been put onto anti-b's so it doesn't go to his chest, he has however passed it on to me, at least I know he doesn't mind sharing
-
Today was our first real solids eat. We tried a week ago, but I think that Greer wasn't interested most likely because of the fact that I used frozen EBM and think that it might not have been any good , but it could have been because I tried to make it myself using brown rice.
Sarah I would have suggested you try adding EBM to the food, it is a taste they are used to and helps with the transition.
Zennie Sounds like you spoilt DP for his birthday, hope he appreciated it. We have Greer's baptism this weekend and I know it doesn't take much for the cost to add up - $2000 is easy to reach. I'm a little annoyed as we mainly only invited family and the godparents and families/partners, but the only person who actually rang and RSVPd was one Aunty, everyone else seems to have just left it as taken for granted that they will be coming. Obviously both sets of grandparents are excused as they are helping with the arrangements, so we know they'll be there.
Shellbell  Congratulations on making it this far with the BF. I know how hard it can be having to return to work so soon. I think you have done a stellar job. Hope that the issues with the ILs and Luke's feeding have improved. I also hope that you and DH are getting some quality time together.
I urge you all to make the effort to show DH, DP or DF that you still love them, even if it is just a kiss or a hug when they leave for work in the morning, as simple as asking how their day was and don't expect the same in return. It helps to make sure that you don't get to the point of thinking you'd be better off apart. My DH starting making the effort with me and eventualy wore down my icy exterior and we are back to happiness again.
-
Grubi I have had to let go of the issues with the IL's. They do things differently than I would - but I had to go back to work and we are so very lucky both emotionally and financially that they are willing to look after him FT. The BF issues didn't really resolve, I just started supplementing him and dropping off the day feeds for my own sanity. Dh don't really get quality time - he is usually busy doing his thing and I am either working or looking after Luke. I have discovered that having a baby in the house is very different for dads than mums!
Sharon I can't believe how big he is either!!! He just keeps growing - will have really buff triceps at the end of all this!!
Not much to report. I am having my arm sucked on though so it must be tme for food!!
-
Sharon: Yeah I was always told to avoid raw carrot (and raw apple too) at this age also, but, at this stage theres no chunks coming off, but as soon as there are, I'll switch back to the rusks.
I tried a new "transitional" sleeping bag today (sewed it myself and everything), and I'm not using it again. My poor little fella cried as much as he did when he had his lumbar puncture.
If I have to change the sheets every day in summer cause he's sweated through them, so be it...I dont care!
