It must be that time of day... Abbey just went to sleep too.
Hey Nickers.. moving well pg is the best fun (NOT!!) but I think that even if you plan it for when you think it won't be too hectic.. usually something happens that makes it so! Good Luck anyway
Its too hot here! I can't wait to get some decent a/c
-
Nickers we moved into this house when charlie was 2 weeks old and i'd just had a c section - i don't wish it on anyone!!! its funny how DH's have diferent ideas to TTC#2 - i'd do it now if i was allowed!
Amanda very muggy and hot here too - no aircon in my house!
Elissa welcome back!
Hi to everyone else
Abs I have 2 sleeping beauties here too
-
hehe funnily enough a few moments after I posted that, Jordy woke which then woke Jen - ah well
I knew they were coming at some stage though no idea when, but some family friends rocked up at about 6pm with about 1hr's notice - "how do we get to your place". Sam and his g/f are moving to Brisbane from Launceston to study and are gonna stay here for 2 or 3 nights. They both ooohed and aahed over Jordy. They are currently out the back in the spa, Jen has gone to bed and I've just uploaded some new pics... Will get some pics of Sam and Alex and us etc tomorrow - we're going into Circular Quay on the ferry - tis supposed to be 34, so should be good on the boat
Of course, when it came time for Jordy to go to bed, all he wanted to do was play... no intention of sleeping. Though me doing several rounds of singing the alphabet to him with the 10min Twinkle Twinkle Little Star piano track we have, eventually sent him on his way
-
must of been the night for babies not wanting to go to sleep - charlie fought it soo hard today!
is still pi$$ing down with rain here - good for the farmers but horrible when your sitting inside all day!
-
yep Nixon fought to get to bed tonight too.. is it a full moon or something!
yep been raining here since lunch time and still going.
Nice pics of Jordy, he has heaps more hair now doesn't he! still waiting for Nixon's 2 grow!
ETA: just uploading some of the recent scrapbooking pages i have done.
-
been raining for 2 days sraight here just stopped this morning, the humidity has finally gone too thank goodness! Archie was starting to get covered in heat rash. Arch went from his tummy to sitting up all by himself last night, yay!
lets hope everyone gets a good nights sleep tonight then.
-
Hi Elissa,
the weather has been similar here in Melb, finally cooled down over night, gee we have had some good rain in the past 2 days (but muggy) and should be a bit more today.
I see your got the TTC in your ticker too! how long you been ttc so far? Im in the sort of column at the moment!
-
hi nickers
this is our fourth month ttc, but i had a bit of a freak out about coping with pregnancy/newbornand Archie and said that i wasn't ready yet, on the bad days i feel like i never want any more kids! we are not trying hard just letting it happen when it wants to. is that what you guys are doing too?
it looks like Archie is going back to having 3 day sleeps, just when i think we have a routine he goes and changes it...very confusing.
-
Nickers - awesome work on the scrapbooking! I've got so much to catch up on but cant get motivated at the moment!
And struggled with Amber's sleeping last night too - she just wants to stand ALL the time!
-
sooz - had the same problem with charlie last night - he escaped out of the covers - no matter how tight i put them on him!
-
Welcome back Elissa. Good luck TTC, fingers crossed for u. We didn't monitor anything this time. :)
Very nice Nickers, don't blame u, moving & selling would be hard enough in itself. I love the last page & the little hands & feet stickers. :)
Ooh Abs, Jordy certainly got more hair, Holly's is growing but very thin & slow, hehe.
40 here today (well around 5pm, didn't check it earlier), love a/c (sorry for those without).
Well Holly has chicken pox, so no day care for 1-3wks, will have mon & wed off, then stepmum can have her.
Found Holly standing in her cot when she woke twice today & DH said once yesterday, so tonight should be interesting.
-
oh no poor Holly. Is it very bad atm? How are you with it, are you immune? i ahd it twice as a kid (1st was about 4months then again about 10) but before i was pg i had a blood test and it came up that i wasnt immune to chicken pox and had to have 2 shots. i was quiet surprised given that i had had it twice.
thankfully it was coolish here today, raining again now and quiet cold, but different to the hot weather we have had lately but most welcomed!
Real estate are coming around tomorrow to take pics of the house so been getting all the nitty gritty cleaning done!
-
absolute scorcher here today - yikes. We didnt go on the ferry, Jen took Jordy Alex and Sam for a trip around Sydney - Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Bondi Beach, Centenial Park, Kings Cross etc etc... so they were happy. Not enough room in the car for me, so I stayed home and got some things done plus up to the local butcher for a very yummy scrummy bbq dinner. Damn it was good but $35 in meat alone for dinner between four of us
Theres some pictures uploaded of Alex and Sam on Jordy's website plus a 2nd set of 3 pics from earlier this evening with his last bottle - he held it the whole time, often just one handed. One of the 3 is two handed, the other two are one handed
Ta for the comments re his hair... my hair was like that when I was younger - I've mentiond it before but the girls at my 20yr Yr 12 reunion all asked about what happened to it all.
Hope Holly is okay with the CP - I have no idea of than giving you spots(?) for what it does.
Jordy slept a ripper last night - one wake at 5.30 for a quick feed/nappy change and back to bed, waking again at 8am.
Good luck with the photo's nickers
-
poor holly - do little babies get itchy?? were did she get them from???
Nickers - good luck with the real estate agent!
Sesational sleep abs! - charlie did the same thing - i have just learnt to do that - give him a bottle straight away - before he wouldn't take it but i tried it this morning and he slept in bed with us for another hour - was great!
-
Just a quick woo... Alexa finally after alot of screaming has slept through the last 2 nights... yippee... hope it continues...
Wont be on much this week... only working 2 days then spending 3 days at home, finishing paintin the bathroom & painting the pantry/utility room!!!!
-
mitch - Woohooo!! sensational!!! hope you got some sleep also!!
-
well done to both Alexa and Charlie
another broken night sleep here - woke at 12, long enough to need a decent amount of settling from the pair of us, and again at 3am. But then slept til 7.15am, where he demolished his bottle
Now normally he'd had it at about 5-6am, go back to bed for a while. Today, had it, then into our bed to play... obviously playing a bit hard as he had a bit of a chuck all over the sheets - oopsie
Looking forward to a much cooler day in Sydney today, only 30 instead of yesterday's 40+
-
Way to go Alexa!! hope is continues for you Mitch.
Im taking Nixon to an agency today, just to c what they are about the cost, etc etc.
-
Hi everyone,
Sorry I have been MIA for a while!!
Well done Alexa, keep sleeping through for yuor Mum!!
Shell - I hope Holly is feeling okay and the the chicken pox aren't upsetting her too much!!
Jacci - I CANNOT put anything in Tyron's cot apart from the fitted sheet, he gets out of all the covers and gets them wrapped around himself so he has no sheets, no blankets nothing and I just control the temperature of the room, it is the only way with him!!!
Nickers - I really need to pull my finger out and get scrapbooking, I have all the stuff etc.. just not the time at the moment
The weather here has been quite mild, which is nice for a change!!
Sleeping - the last week or so, Tyron has slept 13 hours straight, wakes for a bottle, straight back down for another 4 hours!!I rang the doctor because I was worried, but he said it is fine??
-
wow 17hours Lisa! i would have been worried too but if doc says thats fine then good for you! Nixon is doing about 12hours a night now sometimes 13.
-
You guys need to send whatever it is that makes your babies sleep so long to me lol I am so tired Abbey had a bad night last night and the longest stretch she has done lately is 7 hours. I wouldn't know what to do if she slept 17hours.
Nickers...Nice av!
Shell.. Poor Holly, hope she is feeling better soon.
Nothing exciting happening here, its cooled down which is nice. I'm too tired to rmemeber what else I was going to say.
Be back later to finish.
-
Okay I need to change the 17 hours straight, he wakes up once for a bottle in the morning but goes straight back down, he is on penicillin as he has a small infection so it may be that!
-
Shell - poor Holly, i hope they disappear without too much fuss for you. i wish we had a/c, will go crazy if im pg next Summer.
mitch - YAY for Alexa, you probably feel human again now!.
Archie is sleeping about 10-11 hours at the moment. he isn't settling for his afternoon sleep though, trying to ignore him for as long as i can, he's not upset yet
-
Ive just come back from taking Nixon to an agency. Bettina if anyone has heard of them. anyway they said they would ring tomorrow to tell us how we went but not too confident. Nixon was asleep the whole way there even when i got him out of the car, he woke up as we were walking in so was pretty quiet most of the time, he wasnt crying but was just content. anyway the chick didnt even really give him any acknowledgments no smiling at him, talking etc...... Nixon is really responive to people that look at him and talk to him but she didnt. She talked really quickly about everything (which was a lot to take in) and said read through this stuff tonight and if u have any questions ask when we call u tomorrow.....that was it!! i did ask one Q and that was we may be moving interstate but that doesnt matter cause they are in Sydney as well.... other then that she didnt give the opportunity to say "so do u have any questions"
she was a young chick, looked a bit like a model herself, she did say nixon was cute (prob says that to all of them to get ur hopes up) and that he had unique features and cute chubby cheeks
anyway guess i'll find out tomorrow.
Bath in June buddies created my avater for me, looks pretty cool hey!!
-
Nickers - it is a shame that they didn't take the time to get to know you or Nixon, how are you supposed to cast a baby, if you don't see what their personality is like. I thought about doing it with Tyron as he is such a show poney, but I don't think I would like the sometimes catty nature of it. I was watching the Victoria Secret show last night and I thought imagine the ego's there!!!
Sorry that sounds like I am trying to put down baby modelling or what you are doing with Nixon, which I am not at all!!!
-
Hey all Declan has finally got his 1st tooth just anyway it is only just pooking through the gums but it is there none the less!
haven't had a chance to really catch up on the thread you lot talk to much!
-
Hello everyone,
Becky, It's great Declan finally has his 1st tooth, I bet you were excited when you found it! Olivia still only has 2 and no sign of any more although she has been super grumpy the last few days so I wouldn't be suprised if another pops through in the next few weeks!
Nickers, The lady at the modelling agence sounds like most(not all of course) of those I dealt with in the industry (my eldest modelled for about 7 years) and most of the people we dealt with were lovely but just very to the point and never had a lot of time. My daughter had a great experience though and I would do it all again so good luck!
Shell, I do hope Holly is not in too much discomfort, did she pick it up in daycare?? I hope you're feeling ok and the pregnancy is progressing well!
Lisa, Tyron sounds like a great sleeper, Olivia normally does 11 hours and I'm very happy with that, although sometime the 6:00am wake-up can be a little too much when I work nights, Oh well...
Amanda, I hope you got some rest! Olivia only started sleeping through in the last month or so.
Mitch, that's great I hope you were able to get some rest..
Jacci, I hope Charlie is doing well and not getting into too much mischief..
Hi to everyone else.
Kelli
-
awesome young Declan - woohoo on tooth #1
We're still only on 4 teeth, no sign of any others coming through, but those four are certainly well and truly showing, and Jordy has been known to bite you on the shoulder or other places when you aren't careful
Has anyone got a raspberry blower ? Jordy has well and truly taken to blowing em on Jen's cheek or arm etc. He did one on my thigh last night - he was standing between my knees, and it tickled to the max - now I know why Jen had been giggling so much when he did it to her
Oh and the two ebay items we had up sold quite well... $57 for the bumbo and $143 for the aquarium swing (was still under $100 with 15mins to go)
-
Yay for Declans first tooth!! did he have much trouble with it coming through?
Abs - Archie is a raspberry blower from way back he does awesome farting noises on my arm all the time.
-
Alexa is a raspberry blower & growler & tounge poker LOL.. she is NOT a normal baby!!!!!
Her 3rd bottom tooth has broken through now & there is another on the bottom getting ready as well as her 1st top one starting to come through too!!!!!
Well last night I had to get up to her & feed her about 3am, she had kicked all her blankets off & was cold & hungry... but she went straight back to sleep after that... well till she woke again at 5.30 so I gave in & put her in bed with me so I could sleep a little longer!!!!!
Yay Declan on the first tooth... not so gummy anymore hehehe...
Shell hope Holly is not feeling too bad... poor wee mite!!!
Abs... yay on the Ebay sales.. good job...
Elissa.. LMAO @ the farty noises..
Thats about all I can remember LOL...
Does anyone know where i might beable to pick up a cheep sleeping bag for alexa... might solve my blanket fight at night LOL...
oh yeah... I got a wee cube toy box for alexa yesterday, low enough that she doenst have to stand to get her toys out... so she was happily pulling her toys out of it while I gathered my wshing from the other end of the house... Then I heard her screaming.... the silly little monster had leant too far into the box & fell into it... LMAO all that was sticking out of the box were her legs...... so wish I had a camera!!!!!! arent i a mean mummy....
-
mitch - lol about Alexa inthe toy box, archie still doesn't have one yet he just has a lounge room full of toys
theresa - yeah i was really isolated and the lack of understanding from friends, one of whom i no longer talk to (very selfish woman, i was at breaking point and telling her about how archie just got diagnosed with GORD reflux and she waved her hand at me and said 'oh thats just reflux all babies go through that, christopher had awful reflux' which he didn't i was at her house all the time when hers was little and he had very mild reflux for a couple of months. rant over sorry. anyway you were my saviour a couple of months ago you told me about RISA i visited their site and sat there bawling my eyes out. i thought i was a bad mum cause arch was so clingy and wouldn't sleep and constantly ate and sucked his dummy, all of these things were because of his reflux. i am a different peson thanks to you and RISA.
-
Theresa,
I have to admit I thought for a long time that reflux was something they sorta just grew out of until I met you. There is very little information out there for a parent, sometimes, esp if it's not warm and fuzzy information.
Charlie's new tricks are to clap his hands when I sing to him, bounce up and down when I ask him to dance, and jump up and down when he hears the 'Jump and Move' song from Happy Feet! Lol! It seems like he's suddenly become this interactive baby who can communicate with me! I can see from all your posts that your babies are the same! How amazing is that? I'm loving this age.
He's also gone from waking 2 - 3 times a night to consistently sleeping 8pm to 7am now. Last night I woke at 4am and realised that he was awake in his cot. I watched him via the video monitor while he played, sang to himself and rolled around for 20 mins, and when he'd had enough, he rolled onto his tum and went to sleep. So I realise that this is a turning point for him, and not just a fluke. He can self settle now.
He doesn't look like he's going to crawl properly though. He does a half commando/half crawl which is pretty damned fast and he seems happy with this and isn't trying to do a full crawl. Anyone else's baby the same?
Mitch, pity about missing out on Alexa's run in with her toy box. It would have been a picture to dig out on her 21st for sure! Lol!
Abs, great news on the ebay sales, sounds like you did well!
Shell, great to hear about the progress of #2. Are you finding out the flavour?
:hello: everyone else! DS2 is home from his Singapore holidays and we're getting his room fixed up (as we promised him) now he's going to high school. He has to throw out his 'kiddy' stuff and is supposed to be taking down the 'spaceman' wall borders and prepping his room for painting. But I'm sure I can hear him on the computer playing games. <sigh> teenagers! Better go :whip:
-
Thersa and Elissa I can certainly understand where you are coming from and how "the general population know everything there is to know about it"... a lot of Type 1 diabetics (which includes me) get the same when people say "oh my aunt blah blah blah" and are usually referring to the 90% of diabetics who are Type 2. Sure we are both diabetics but there is a HUGE difference between so many meanings and treatment and what we can and are not supposed to do
Sushee, Jordy still isn't crawling either. He can turn over from sitting up, and lie down... then continue rolling and sit up again about 2feet from where he started. And still loves walking around the sides of furniture
-
i have just posted a super easy 2 min noodle recipe under melindas Pasta Salad thread if anyone is interested.....
BBl boss is grumpy LOL
-
theresa - i would rather not know about it too, and i always think of you when the going gets tough here, i imagine how you cope with two refluxers, ur a special mum.
abs - re type 1 diabetes, there is cetainly a lot of ignorance about this condition, it must be hard not to jump down peoples throats sometimes.
sushi - archie has just learnt to self settle this week as well (as long as his reflux isn't playing up) isn't it a wonderful feeling to have them settle themselves!
-
WTG on the sleeping everyone.
Nickers, did u check out the baby modelling agency thread? There were quite a few bad comments on Bettina, just fyi (eg they take most kids charge a huge fee & rarely any work). I've been thinking bout looking into one.
Yay Becky on Declan's 1st tooth.
Mitch, I got Holly's 'Snugtime' sleeping bag from Target. From memory it was under $30, found them in google too. MPSL Mitch, that woulda been funny to see. We got 2 clear plastic containers with lids from bunnings yesterday on special, fits all her toys in it.
Wow Sush, WTG Charlie.
CPox: No they're not itchy as babies & mild in Holly's case, not having to give her panadol or anything to put on them, she's pretty good, just a bit more sooky, she's waking around 6times at night for a short whinge (1min or less) & goin straight back to sleep. I have an immunity level of 17 apparently, however the Hunter IVF nurse said she didn't have any chart to compare it to to say whether it's high enough, but surely the gynae that did that test b4 preggas with Holly would've told me if wasnt high enuf & got me to have a needle for it. Anyhow got them to fax those results to my obgyn (had to ring them to say sterilise their toys as holly was playing with them the day b4 she got spots).
-
Elissa, I'm pretty good about it, but I do know others (via a forum like this but for Type 1's) who talking about Food Nazi's etc - they are the ones that say "should you be eating that" etc. I take it you do know a bit about it then ?
-
Thanks Shell, i had read parts of that thread before and think that a lot of the agencies are the same they must have lots of children on their books and anyway we are going ahead with bettina, i called them back just now after missing their call earlier, Nixon is getting his photo's taken tomorrow.
Im glad Holly's CP is only mild. do u know where she caught it though?
How cute sushee! ive been clapping hands and waving bye to Nixon for so long, he just smiles and giggles but wont do it himself yet!
-
nic,
I taught him while I was feeding him his lunch. Is the only time I have his undivided attention!
I actually waited until he did something, like clap, then I kept saying 'clap hands' everytime he did it. After 3 or 4 goes, he made the connection and now does it when I say 'clap hands'
-
Oh very clever with the clapping Sush, I clap at Holly saying clever girl, but she doesn't. She waves though (xmas eve), but not claps. What a lovely pic of Charlie, he's looking so much more grown up now isn't he. :)
Nickers, I have absolutely no idea, as the childcare didn't mention anyone else having it & they have a legal obligation to advise others of exposure. A lil boy in our mums group had it just b4 xmas which he got off a rel, but we hadn't seen him whilst he was contagious as Holly was sick so had to miss a few wks in a row.
Yeah I'd reckon they're all the same too. I doubt there'd be any in Newcastle, so prob won't get to with Holly, not willing to drive to Sydney. :)
