hiya!
Well - we have our first 'official' word! Josiah has been imitating for a long time, and will occasionally come out with something resembling a word - you know, the ones that only close family can make out :) Anyway, this morning he toddled into our room, climbed up onto our bed, gave Mark a hug, sat up pointed to Mark and said 'daddy' clear as anything. Apparently he's been saying it all day whenever he goes near Mark. So pleased, coz up until now he's just been grunting and pointing at what he wants - including bringing me his favourite dvd and pointing at the tv with a grunt - cheeky monkey :) Can't wait for his next word now!
Nothing else terribly exciting happening here, settlement on our house is due on the 6th August, but we're renting back for 6 months so no mad rush to pack. I just did my tax return, well a bit of a trial run until Mark gets his group certificate, looks like I should get a decent amount back, but that will just go back into daycare so no extra to spend - how sad :( Oh, other Josiah news - he's learning where all his body parts are - hands, feet, nose etc - Janae's been teaching him. She's so proud that she's been the one to show him and shows him off to everyone, it's very cute.
Amanda - glad you got to see bubs and everything is going ok with you, sounds like Abbey is going along nicely too :)
Nickers & Ali - good luck with your scans - all this baby talk almost gets me clucky, but not quite!
Joy - hope your feeling better now, and good on DH for looking after Caden so well - even if he did forget the bottle! Hope everything is ok with Caden's little willy - Jacci said Charlie's got the same problem atm.
Amy - hope Declan is feeling better soon and you've all recovered from your bout of food poisoning.
HI to everyone else, gosh it's been quiet in here. I'm off to bed, it's very late & I've got work in the morning.
Keep smiling
Bel

morning!
Another day in the office...I'm not minding working full time at all, but there are some days when you just want to stay in bed, and this is certainly one of them!
My little man has some sort of rash or something. It looks like insect bites, but they're on his arms and legs and tummy. It's not chicken pox, but I don't know what else it could be. They don't seem to bothering him at all, and daycare didn't say a word about it yesterday, but Mark is taking him to the doc in an hour or so just to check it out. I thought it may be an allergic reaction, but they really do look like mosquito bites...oh well, find out soon enough, he's still happy, so it can't be too bad :)
Anyway, back to work for me, hope everyone is having a good day

Hi Everyone
Just a quick fly by here to give you guys some information.
We got Declan's results today and he has low iron levels due to Milk Syndrome.
It is where kids have too much milk so it effects the absorbtion of iron into their systems. Kids over 1 should only be having 2 cups of milk a day at the most. Declan was having milk with his Cereal, a cup with both m/tea & a/tea & then a cup with dinner.
Thankfully it isn't anything too bad but still we need to work on getting high iron foods back into him so we can get those levels back up.
I just wanted to warn you guys incase any of your tots were having more milk than they should be and maybe have a chat to your CHN or GP about it if you are concerned or if they develop very running poos all of a sudden.
I'll be back a little later as I'm feeling a little  atm & like I'm a bad mummy for not knowing that I have been feeding my son too much milk.
-
wow jess has just had runny poos for the last week and she drinks three 200ml bottles aday oh my god shes been really grizzly i just thought shes been tired as she sleeps with me and both of us isnt sleeping well .im taking her to the doctors tomm tha

Hi everyone,
so much has happened,
Bel - that's fantastic that Josiah spoke so clearly and with purpose. Caden talks a bit but nothing so clear or purposeful. Let us know how Josiah's rash is too.
Amy - the milk thing - I was told no more than 600mls milk a day though Caden seems to choose his own amount usually about 100mls per feed, three feeds a day so I'm not too worried. Hope your little man improves quickly.
Nickers - hows the pregnancy going? Time is really flying now!
Becky - Sounds like great fun playing with Declan. Caden is just really cheeky and likes to make me get up to stop him from doing stuff I tell him not to. I am just trying to persist and be consistent. When DH comes in he will go back to doing what I had just told him not to to see if DH will stop him, hope its not a sign of things to come!
Just wondering how much TV you guys let your little ones watch. We don't let Caden watch any as he is pretty flat out doing his own thing most of the time anyway. And I find it really hard to see little kids watching TV like they do, all fixated like they do. Any thoughts?
gotta go have lunch...

Hi Everyone
Mum has charlie at the moment so i actually have time to do something!!!
Joy - charlie watches the cartoons in the morning then we turni it off - he will sit on DH knee when he gets home from work and they watch the cartoons for about 1/2 hour in the arvo then the night time regim starts
Becky - did she have a boy or a girl??
-
becky - i re read your post and you said HE so i have answered my own qst!!!
-
hiya,
good to see you around Jacci - Hope you get lots of things done while Charlie's at your mums.
Becky - congrats to your cousin. And how cute Declan saying coochie coochie coo - that's hilarious!
TV - bit of a debatable subject in our house. The kids don't watch normal tv hardly at all, but they have some educational DVD's that they watch quite often - Mark tends to use it as both background noise and a babysitter when he has something he needs to get done. I try to leave it off as much as possible, but sometimes it can be a lifesaver when you just need a few minutes - Josiah loves sitting on his couch with a bottle and watching his DVD, mind you lately he's more into dancing around the room to the music :)
Milk - Don't feel bad Amy, I too am guilty of giving my boy too much milk. It would explain a lot actually....thanks for letting us know and I hope Declan's recovery is a speedy one now that you know the cause.
Josiah's rash - isn't anything to worry about. It's not contagious, has some big long name and no treatment unless it starts to bother him. Apparently it's quite common and should clear up in a few days. aah, the things our kids pick up!
Anyway, back to work for me!
-
jess usually watches a hi-five dvd buts thats about it i usually leave it on abc2 all day but she dosent sit down and watch it .its usually on for the background noise .the abc2 channel is really good it plays kids shows from 10 till 3.00

Hi everyone
My computer has been broken all week. I didn't realise i used it so much as this week i have missed it alot. $175 later and a new RAM stick!?? and we are back on line. Yay.
Good to know about the milk thing. Sam still has his three bottles of 200 mls. I was thinking of dropping the lunchtime one though but have been putting it off because it is nice to cuddle up on the lounge with him and have a bottle. The rest of the day (besides sleeping) he seems to be on the go all the time - doesnt stop. His big brother watches some TV and he might sit for a few minutes and have a look but then he is off again to find something to demolish!
My week has been very exciting as I have discovered im 7 weeks pregnant! We were thinking about having a third child but this has been a surprise as i have PCOS and took clomid to conceive my two boys so assumed i would have to this time as well. However it just happenned by itself so we are extremely happy. Our EDD is 13 March 08. Been feeling a bit ill though and low on energy. very excited!
-
Huge congrats!!!! Kate!! That is great news. I can imagine how buggered you will be running around after a young one being pregnant!
I remember when we first started talking on here and i was about 8 weeks pregnant - Bel was on here too and she had Janea to run around after while she was pregnant - I don't reckon i gave you girls enough credit I now know how hard it would be - I get buggered just running around after one let alone one inside me!!!
Bel - Glad the rash is nothing!!
Well I have got an interview today at 11 ( better hurry and get ready!!!) at one of the local Solicitors here that have bought a big melbourne company - just doing there finance 3 days a week - so hopefully i will get it - I reckon i am in with a pretty good chance seeing they rang me and asked me without me even knowing there was a job there - but we'll just wait and see what happens! the extra money would be very handy before we start trying for a second
Have a good day - I'll let you know how i go
-
Hi everyone,
we're doing ok. Caden is back to eating really well and I am sleeping heaps during the day????? and at night too, go figure! The baby moves heaps and it is absolutely exhausting. I remember first time, it was so much easier, I can't believe those of you that already had one to chase around last time. It is just so tiring.
DH is away in Cairns for the week for work, add to that that his mum needs to go to Melbourne for medical tests tomorrow afternoon and I'm flat out this week between trips to the airport and melbourne hospitals I'm just making the most of my quiet days which involve lots of sleeping on the couch and not much else! as long as Caden lets me that is.
so with that said I'm off to my fav. couch to watch some senseless TV before bed.
Jacci - how'd the interview go?
