Abs, she isn't really bitin on me so not noticing it at moment, although she did hurt a little a few days ago but not that bad, which is why I kept checking her mouth to see if any of the teeth I can see have cut through.
Tyron sounds like he's doin great Lisa. Oh no at being sick, u poor thing, oh it isn't morning sickness is it, hehe, sorry couldn't help that one. Hope ur feelin better now. Yeah holly gets on her belly too & kicks at the cot but sometimes has an arm or leg stuck out, but this is the first time I've seen her with both legs out of the 1 gap & that far out, had to laugh when i saw though. I find myself checking on her once she's asleep now, to make sure she's still in her anti-roll cushion, sometimes she's half out but still ok so just leave her, but soon as she wakes, yep she's all over the place. Hehe, what everyone has to look forward to. :)
I envy u guys/girls workin at home, I'll be doin 8am-4:30pm & 45mins drive each way, so when go back f/t going to really miss Holly. I can't get broadband still, despite several Telstra employees door knocking saying they can guarantee I can get b/band & NOPE. We're on the very end of the cable loop so people futher away than us can get it (most of our suburb) but not us. Only 2% of Newcastle region can't get it apparently & we're in that group. However I prob wouldn't be able to work f/t from home. Also, how do u guys/girls do it, working at home & lookin after bubs at same time?
Still only 4 big giggle sessions so far & a few very short ones, can't wait til she giggles all the time.
-
,m" ./,n ne57y - thast was charlie!
Shell - I take charlie to work with me - the office just bought a porta cot so it is in my office now and he just sits in there plays with his toys and has a sleep - he loves it cozhe still can see me. i would hate to have to go back to full time work and leave him - i don't envy you at all.
Giggles - every nightcharlie gets in giggles for about half an hour the other day all i had to do was look at him and he's laugh ( must admit they are my favourite times of the day) shell you will love it
Lisa - Geez and i thought charlie was long. charlie is 72 cm and weighs 10 kilo's - he is really solid not really rolly polly but just solid - i think thats why he is taking so long to roll coz he weighs soo much heheheh:) it sounds like Tyron is going great, When did he start rolling
Tempers - Charlie has a really bad temper with his toys it makes me laugh - he pulls all the things on the jungle jym into his mouth and if it doesn't reach his mouth then he has a screaming session at it!
-
morning everyone
before I forget - abs FANTASTIC news from Penny! Congratulations to the whole family.
bugger - i've been trying all morning to write this post (and all I've managed is 1 line! Everytime I try little man gets cranky, so i'm just going to post this and come back later.
See you soon!
-
Abs - I forgot to say congratulations for Penny and also for you being an uncle, great news for everyone!!
Shell - definitely now morning sickness, made sur eof that, I am only just starting to cope, couldn't have another baby just yet!!
Work - I am lucky and with what I do, it isn't time dependent so I can be doing it at 6am or 7pm, I just work whenever I get the chance!!
Jacci - He is so long that I have him in size 1 bond suits, I think the poor boy is going to be 7 foot or something!!! He has been rolling for about 2 weeks, was a bit shaky at frst but is over in 2 seconds flat now!! He also has a temper with his toys, tries to pull them off the gym and shove them in his mouth, it is amazing how much they can fit in such a little mouth!!!

Jen spoke to someone earlier today about his feeding and waking... apparently it is normal for them to go off the food for a bit - he seems to actually be getting hungrier again. Woke for an extra feed last night (fortunately just as I was going to bed at 9.30)
Also for any noise eg birds to wake em in the morning
But he is supposed to be going to sleep now - all I can hear over the baby monitor is him playing with the bits that spin on the bottom of the aquarium on the side of his cot - Jen has just gone to move him again so he can't reach it. It's soo funny - he grabs the side of the cot with his left hand and then uses that to then reach over with his right hand to play with it
Haven't gotten that on the phone yet, but shouldn't be long - I'll then upload that too
Oh, just remembered... Jen was up the shops earlier with Jordy in his pram, had just come out of the dry cleaners and into the arcade which it wasn't very wide at that part. Apparently John Howard was there with all his keepers who took up the whole width of the arcade. She just stopped where she was (in the middle) as there was nowhere for her to go...
Apparently he stepped aside when they got to where she was and apologised to her for getting in her way. Wow... noone else said boo
Update from upstairs... he's now doing a #2 - she called me up to hear his grunting but naturally stopped when I got there
As for working at home, I usually start around 7 these days (once he's back in bed) - see whats going on, do a few things, have brekkie, a shower sometime. Help Jen when he wakes again so she can then have a shower & brekkie (she tries to keep sleeping during his first nap)
And I keep working on and off during the day... Often my role is either really busy or doing not much... all works out in the end. I'll only stop for a few minutes at lunch and work til 4.30 when I take over, and someitmes do a little more after dinner - see if any new emails from 4.30 onwards etc
At the moment with only driving to work (10kms each way) once a fortnight, my fuel tank will last 5-6 months :) We usually use Jens for day to day stuff as it's smaller vs my Subaru Outback
We get heaps of giggles from Jordy - especially in the morning. He loves laughing. I bury my nose into his tummy and he is screaming with laughter - sometimes even waking Jen
Oh and ta re Pen... Its still so early, but she couldnt keep it quiet - and yes Tim is her bubby
-
Lisa - I have the same problem with Charlie - I had him in a O wonder suit the other day and it must of been too short for him coz it rubbed the skin off his little toes - i felt soo bad about it. I am going through clothes like it is going out of fashion!!! I imagine charlie is about 3cm now he just keeps growing! - you are in the same boat as me - you and i are both 6 foot and my husband is 6 foot 2 or 3 I think you said your DH is about that too - the girls in my mothers group all have short babies - I feel like i have a freak compared to them!
Abs - I love the noises charlie makes when he's doing #2.. and i love how his head looks like its going to explode.hehehehehe
Mothers Gourps - Is everyone in a mothers group - if so how often do you meet up???
We meet up once a fortnight and have coffee at someones house - although most of my mothers group doesn't mind a wine - so we have that instead.
Fuel - How expensive is everyones fuel were they live??? Ours is at $1.24 was at $1.46 was costing me a fortune to fill up.
I'm in the same boat as you ABS - I drive my car to netball and basketball but other than that i walk into town everyday. I normally get about 3 weeks out of a tank - which is good coz the old budget would have to be resumarized if it was more often!
Bel - I had that problem the last 3 weeks - coz charlie had the chest infection he was grumpy sometimes and it happened to be every time i went to type on BB so i would type one line and then he would crack them so i gave up for a while!
-
Fuel is down around $1.20 or less I think here - will see later today - my cousin is in town with wife #2. His teenage daughter from wife #1 is competing at some competition in Homebush over the next few days - Tony and Krys are heading home tomorrow night. They are coming for dinner
*cough* Parents group - ours is at the local pub, Wednesday arvo's
Who here has stairs to worry about... I've just finished installing gates at the bottom and top of the stairs, and also a gate into the laundry
Only problem is the cats food is in the laundry, so gotta teach them about jumping over the gate - and then over the gates to come up and down the stairs too
-
Isn't it funny how in weeks our babies are older than in months - charlie is now 6 months when you go by weeks but is only 5 months nearly 2 weeks.
Abs - I don't need to have the gates anywere in our house its pretty much open plan - might put one in the laundry though - thats a good idea.
-
Hi Everyone,
It really is nice to here from you all again. I forgot who mentioned the March babies thread, but actually I haven't been posting anywhere since end of April, I guess it's just been so busy.
Theresa: Like you said wow it's busy. I don't know about you but Nathan is right in the middle of the terrible 2's. I mean he's fantastic with Holly, in fact he adores her but boy is he busy!!!!
Abs: We don't have strairs ATM but will in our new house. Ooohhh, the joys of child proofing, just wait until Jordan starts getting into the kitchen cupboards hehehe.
Shell: Holly seems to be doing the same thing with sleeping through the night. She first slept through at 11 weeks but has never really made a habit of it since. Actually, I thought for sure that by now she would be regularly but nooooo. Nathan started at 4 months and was every night by 4 1/2.
Jacci: Wow Charlie sounds big, Holly is still in a 00 to 0 wondersuit. Ouch on his poor little toes, and the chest infection I hope the little guy picks up soon.
Lisa: Wow, I can't believe that Tyron will be in a size 1 wonder suit. As for having 2 well I guess you just kind of do what you have to do...Same as having one. Sometimes I think that I'm going nuts....But other days they're both little angels.
Bel: Hope you and bubs are well..
-
Jac, use 4.25 weeks / month, eg 26weeks = 6 months, not 24 !! coz its 52 weeks in a year not 48 !! Thats where your numbers are going out
Jaime, its good to hear from you too. We have the bits and pieces for the kitchen cupboards and drawers ready to go - tis my job to do all these little bits and pieces... Oh, the gate at the bottom of the stairs is a real problem here, coz the stairs turn right at the bottom, and the bottom "step" is very large and open on 2 sides, almost like a platform in the corner. No way can I get a gate on that and the next step is the start of the curve up - the gate wont secure properly - me gotta think of how to do that one :(
You're building right ?? Make sure the design of the stairs can be gated. Have a proper think of how it will look and the size and is the "sides" of the stairs got things that will make putting a gate in difficult
Due to the vertical bit for the handrail support being all fancy schmancy, a) it buckles when anything is pushed against it - the strength of pushing against it to secure the gate into place is gotta be pretty decent, and b) its round so the gate plate simply slips on it and thus falls over if you even look at it, let alone touch the gate. I need to put my woodworking head on again to think of how to fix this one... already had to do something to secure the top of the stairs gate into place - grrr
And we dont have parents group tomorrow - its today at a lakeside cafe at the Homebush Olympic area, so we'll shortly be off to that. Apparently its also the last one for one of the girls who goes back to work next week
-
Argh, so what is it about sleep nowadays? Charlie's routine is all stuffed up again and he was waking every couple of hours last night. I'm a zombie.
Shell, I've been browsing through your camera shop links to see what there is out there. Thanks for the tip. I actually went to your babiesonline site and couldn't find it. Took a while to figure out to go to your personal website. D'er! And wow on Holly's tooth. Must look so cute!
Wondersuits: Charlie is in 0s still. They are quite fitting, but definitely long enough for him, so I won't be going up a size for a while, I think. Which is good, coz I have about 12 in size 0! Lol!
Rolling; Theresa, Charlie is the same. He's got back to front down pat, but has only managed front to back four times so far. He gets so frustrated!
Giggles: Charlie is a giggler. He giggles at everything. If I do a funny dance, or sings, or even smile at him funny, he'll giggle!
Actually he only seems to be fussy when it's time to eat or time to sleep. And speaking of which, it's almost morning nap time for him, so when he goes down, so will I!
-
Yikes on having to move Theresa, hope it all goes smoothly.
No swimming for us next Tue as is school hols so assume it will be packed with kids.
Holly seems to prefer to be on her belly more than on her back now, I always put her on her back so she rolls, sometimes she rolls back to her back so has to go back over again, hehe. They are just soo funny aren't they, their lil personallities.
Wow Lisa, that'll throw all your sizes out hey. So any clothes pressies might be wrong size now, have 3 x 00 which still fit but only just.
Ohhh no poor Charlie, wow I never thought that could happen Jacci. Yikes, one of Holly's bonds suits is a bit too small now but I still put it on her the other night & then washed it & packed it away. Might need to get me some size 0 wondersuits now.
No prob Sush, got some of the links from friends whom have the same camera as I have, so I bought it too. But it saved me some dough.
Mum's groups: yeah I'm in 3 (was 4), my local Child Health Clinic ran one for 5wks & we exchanged details & meetup fortnightly at each other's house, the other fortnights we go to swim lessons then picnic lunch. Another is our antenatal class group from the private hosp, we've met up 3 times now & another due next mth. Another is the mum's group run by our private hosp, we meet up about once/mth too & the other which I'm prob not going to go to anymore is my friend's mum's group which now clashes with swim lessons. I love mum's group, getting out & makin friends, etc.
Fuel: not sure, have only been filling up once/2-4wks, but when back to work will know it as it's 125km/day.
Stairs: no internal stairs, only 1 at back door & 5 at front porch.
Child proofing: hmmm, still gotta do that. Don't need gates as can close all doors & rest is open plan.
Giggles: today, twice, Holly giggled when I was doing the whole kissing thing on her cheek, making the looonng kiss sound, so they're coming along.
-
I have childproofed our loungeroom now. ( only today) It was so hard to work out were everything should go to make it childproof. Only need to put the grate around the fire.
Shell - it was probably just freeky for that to happen to charlie - but do you know how hard it is to get a bandaid on your little toe!!!!!
-
Hello Everyone!!
Have come on here numerous times in the last week to chat but get interrupted everytime I start to type!!
Well long time since Ive been on here, been so busy with these 2 boys of mine. Logan is now 25wks old today and will be offically 6mths old next wed. He is travelling along nicely: weighs 7.7kgs and is 69cm long. Still sleeping through(fingers crossed). No rolling here but he is ever so close... I think......? Just needs to get his big noggin off the ground... LOL
He has just started on solids last week and is enjoying them thourghly!! I have started him with pureed pear as we needed to get his bowles moving( he was only doing #2 once a week) and it sure has helped!!
Logan loves watching everything his big boy brother does and lets out squeals of delight when he walks in the room. I really enjoy sitting back and watching the 2 of them interact, I think they are going to be great mates when they get a little older. Jasper had his 3rd birthday a couple of weeks ago. I still cant believe how quickly those 3 yrs have gone!! He is toilet training for the second time atm(all came to an abrupt halt when Logan arrived??) and is doing fabulously!!!
I have also been busy looking after my sis lil girl who is 3mths older than Logan, most wednesdays. She doesnt stop moving that lil girl always on the go!!!
Im soooo tired lately am thinking this warmer weather isnt agreeing with me atm.....so I might go hit the hay and try and do personals tomorrow.
quick question: has anyone started their bub on a 2nd solid meal yet?
Take care
Anna
-
Hi Anna, I hve charlie on 2 solids a day. In the morning after his first bottle he has Farex and
Apple mixed together. Then he has bottles all day and after his 7pm bottle he has pumpkin or potato or any vegie all pureed up. Pumpkin & Brocoli are his favourite. I have recently started him on yoghurt too, he loves that! ( mind you my boy is a big boy so needed food he is 10kilo;s)
Abs - How was mothersgroup yesterday.??
Bel - how is work going - are you still doing reception or are you back to doing the bookkeeping - has the nasty replacement left yet?? How is little Janae handling sisterhood, Josiah has the most beautiful big eyes.
Sushee - Hope your getting more slepp - believe me i know how you feel - charlie was up every hour last week!! hope he goes back to routine for you soon
I have mothers group at my house today so that should be good. - although had to spend all yesterday cleaning!!
-
Hi there guys....
Sorry I havent been on for awhile....
we now have Alexas 14 YO half brother living with us & my Dh is havining to work out of town form Sun night to fri night so I am totally drained (Tiggy... I have no idea how you manage to function!!!!!)...
Well Alexa is doing great, she is almost 7 months (5 1/2 corrected), and weighs 6kg!!!! she is just above the lowest line on the graph now & about average for her corrected age.....
She is trying to sit up & roll over, but not quite there yet..... but EVERYTHING is going in the mouth!!!!!
Hope all your bubs are thriving, I will try & catch up on everyones news, but there is alot to catch up on!!!!!
-
Hi Mitch - Nice to hear everything is going good.
Well I just got back from doing Body Pump at the gym and i think my body is going to die!!! I am sore already!
Hope everyone has had a great day.
Jac
-
Hiya Mitch and Anna - sounds like you are both leading a very full life at the moment
How'd your group go yesterday Jac ?
Our parents group went well. Was a bit coolish as we were sitting outdoors - wish I'd read the menu properly, missed the Nacho's - had a tandoori chicken wrap instead
The first one to booby feed said "sorry andrew, about to flash you" as she was pulling her boob out to feed her son... no worries, I politely looked somewhere else at that point til all was in place (she was sitting at the table opposite me). Then it was boob city - most of the girls ended up feeding at some point. There was even a discussion started by one of the others how a guy she knows, about my age (early 40's) reckons BF in public should be banned. I reckon I was the first to tell him to grow up and get with the times.... Personally I reckon its one of the most awesome things you ladies get to do is to personally feed your child
Not happy when we got home though - someone has backed into my car which was parked on the street. The bonnet will need replacing, it's moved the drivers side headlight, maybe the bumper as well. No idea of who. THere's a bit of wood in the Subaru logo in the middle of the front (half way between the headlights), so was some sort of trailer - aarrrgghhh
So there's $500 in excess I'll have to fork out as we don't know who it was for my insurance to get to pay for it :(
On a brighter note, we had someone come and take some B&W photos yesterday morning. Nerida (school friend of one of the girls in the parents group) emailed us a couple of the pics yesterday arvo, and the CD containing the images is already in the post
I've uploaded two of the pics - here and here. We can't wait for the full sized files to come. No idea on getting full sized prints made from image files, but we'll soon be finding out !!
-
Abs they are such beautiful pictures -she has done a great job - very photogenic little boy - must get that from you!!
Glad your Parents group went well, I was actually quite embarresed to start with when i had to breast feed in public ( can't say i've every got the Girls out before !!!!) so it was a new experience - but then i got used to it and actually become quite skilled at how quickly i could do it with out anyone noticing - I agree with you that guy needs to get with the times!
Mothers Group we had mothers group (is a mothers group for me abs as no dads ever want to come - that and there all at work) it went well at my house we hada few wines had a chat and some nibbles and the kids all had a play - they all loved charlies bounce and spin toy - charlie was a bit grumpy. Everyone at my group has these little petite babies - mine is a big boofa it makes me feel very concious of it. But i know he is healthy ( that and i seen Princess Mary's boy and he makes charlie look little :) )
Anyway i am at work and the lady before me has stuffed up majorly! they had the audit team come in - before i started and there is soomuch crap to fix -this lady was swapping cheques for personal cheques!!!! HELLO!!! didn't she think there would be a problem! Anyway
Chat to you all later - would love to see some more photo's ABS and everyone should update some more photo's too - i love looking at how cute they all are
Jac
-
Great to hear ur all doin well Anna & Mitch.
Abs, OMG they're such great pics, I'm in suspence on what the others will be like, hehe. Gees, no witnesses (eg: if parked out front of shops?), bugger. Hmm someone dinged our Forester when it was 3mths old, to bare metal, even left some of their blue/green paint on it, they took off too & it was in our STAFF car park, but wasn't any of us (newspaper mob downstairs), it makes u sooo angry that people have the gall to just drive off doesn't it. Noticed a few more dints in it lately, makes me so mad.
Jacci, hehe haven't seen princess mary's bub. Like u said, Charlie looks solid, not fat. But my GP said bub's this age should have some fat, lil fat cheeks & fat rolls on legs. I've noticed since putting Holly on 1, now 2 formula bottles/day since last Mon that she's putting on weight, & she doesn' t have a slightly indented soft spot anymore.
-
Was out the front of our house Shell - tis a fairly quiet street. Originally I was thinking it was the trailer in the house across the road, but we sneaked over and had a squiz - nup :(
OMG the cd with the photo's has arrived in the post - holey moley these are brilliant !!
I'll upload some more later - there's 27 in all, both high-res (2000x3008 / 3008x2000) and low-res (400x602 / 602x400)
One thing I am disappointed in is that they are JPEG's, thus have been "compressed". They should not be compressed - the complete CD is only 56Mb, so less than 10% full. I knew there was something I was gonna ask her yesterday
If you want all the low-res, it's <2Mb so send me an email - andrewbs@bigpond.net.au and I'll send em to you (use a decent subject like "Jordys pics" - ta)
-
Ooooo can't wait to see those photos Abs! The two you had on there were soo cute. He's a looker, is Jordy!
Jacci and Shell, oh yes Princess Mary's bub is one big baby! Lol! Mind you, for a BFed bubba, my Charlie is not short of rolls of fat and dimples! Heehee!
Have been putting him into the high chair the last few days to sit with us at meal times, and he just loves it! Good for him to get used to it for when he starts solids too!
Susan, if you see this, can you please email me on sushee@bellybelly.com.au ?
-
Hello everyone.
I'm just on here very quickly tonight to let you know I'm still alive and home. Hopefully will be back tomorrow or the next day to read through and catch up on everything that has happened while I've been away.
We were kept busy for the 10days while we were away. Catching up with my family and our friends, then organising things for the christening we had for Declan on Sunday. Everything went really well and DH's family behaved themselves.
We headed home on Tuesday and went straight to the doctors. Turned out Declan had picked up a gastro bug and was vomiting and had really bad runs (Sorry TMI). We took him home with the advice to keep fluids up and watch the temp. We ended up taking him up to the hospital at about 9 Tuesday night because his temp was 39 degrees (while on panadol). So we've had a pretty eventful couple of days. Thankfully he is on the mend now and acting more like himself this evening then he has in the last couple of days. Well better run to look after the little mite. Chat to you all very soon.
-
Yikes Amy
must have been a scarey couple of days, but as you say, he's on the mend. Good to see you back
Rather than emailing the pics, I've zipped em and uploaded - tis just over 1Mb in size, and there's 27 shots in there :D - get em here. Thanks Sushee... yes he is a bit of a spunky boy :p
We've put Jordy into the high-chair and the chair that snaps onto the dining table too... he still slips to one side at the moment, but he's getting better at staying upright. Friends have said how much easier things are when they can sit up on their own
-
Oh no Amy hope he's feeling much better now. That's great that ur trip went well.
Abs, they're fantastic.
-
Amy - So glad he is on the mend - I would of freaked if Charlies temp got that high.
Abs - I have a highchair that actually turns into a table and charies -it is awesome - charlie sits in it when we are eating tea - he loves sitting there watching. Can Jordy sit up on his own now? Charlie has only just learnt how to do it in the last couple of days now he sits up and plays.
-
ok girls & abs - i'm at the end of my rope.
It's been a nightmare night and day. I got hardly any sleep because mark decided he needed some attention at 12.30 last night (u get my drift), then at 2.30 Janae woke up and wanted me to stay with her, which is very unusual, so I climbed into bed with her - SO uncomfortable. At 4.30 Josiah decided it was time to wake up and play, so I fed him but he wouldn't go back to sleep until almost 6, then woke again at 7.15.
Today, he's only slept for 10 mins this morning, and cries everytime he can't see me. I've spent most of the day trying to get him to sleep, even going for a long drive, nothing is working - he's crying in his cot as I type. Everytime I think I'm getting somewhere, Janae decides to make a racket!
To add to the fantastic day I'm having I rang up to apply for a job this morning in the 10 mins Josiah was asleep, and Janae decided that she would come in and demand something and threw a tantrum when I told her to wait - while I was on the phone! Great first impression huh....
Anyway, just wanted to vent - I can't ring Mark coz he's in the movies with his students...better go and tend to the screaming child.
Thanks girls (& abs)
Bel
-
oh Theresa - you put me to shame! Here I am whinging about the day I had, and you're coping with so much more than me. You're an inspiration hon!
Glad to hear that Em's doing well with her tube, sorry to hear that your sick. Hope you get Em's night feeding sorted out quickly so you can get some sleep. And :( on yucky dial-up but YAY on getting adsl reasonably quickly. You don't realise how good it is until you lose it don't you.
Another YAY for Georgie rolling and being such an angel.
I'll come back for more personals later, I'm off to bed now the kids are finally off to sleep.
Have a great weekend everyone
Bel
PS Abs - It's unanimous - you have a stunner on your hands, Jordy is just gorgeous.
-
Oh dear, hope u girls make up that sleep.
Bel, if they have kids themselves, surely they'll understand. Hope u get the job.
Great news on Georgie, Theresa & hope things improve with Em & u get better too.
Well I finalised childcare & CCB after asking work bout my pay. Seems I'm going to get paid pro-rata based on my present salary, which was s'posed to have been reviewed 1/4 as usual, but I was on annual leave then mat leave 18/4, but nope, my review hasn't been done as acntnt said she hasnt been instructed to increase per review & she had same thing happen when returning from mat leave. So bit disappointed & I really hate asking pay type questions but I'm gonna have to as I feel I'm entitled to. So c/care is $52-$20=$31/day which isnt too bad compared to other centres, so guess I'm all set for Wed, hehe. Just have to supply formula & farex, they supply the rest (nappies, chef cooks vegies, etc) & have to label everything.
ETA: DW 6.19kg (up 750g in 4wks, 3-4times more than last 3x3wkly weigh ins).
2mths=25%, 5mths=8%, 6mths=10%(but DW). Other weigh ins were BW though, so prob 6kg.
-
Theresa & Bel - I am feeling your pain!!!!! I have been up every hour on the hour for 2 weeks straight now and am walking around like a zombie!!!! Theresa you really are amazing to deal with whats going on with Em. and Bel -hope you get some sleep real soon!!!!
Well its now october and i can't believe how quick it has gone!!!
Today i am putting up with 2 children!!! Gavin got in from a grandfinal party at 4.30sm and is hung over like mad so i am helping him feel better and then Charlie is in a bad mood coz of his chest infection - sometimes i think i need to go away on a holiday for a while! - i think i just need a whole weekend break!
-
Hi ladies
Theresa is such an inspiration isn't she... soo good to hear Em is coping and G is doing well
Jac we know about the wakes too... hmm, seems like its a phase around this age. Sat night was a shocker though last night was a bit better
Thx sooo much for the words about our little boy... we reckon we got the major prize with him :p
For those on long weekends, though actually most are still on mat. leave... cancel that thought.
Jordy moves to his own room today, and we might try some Farex later today too :o
Hope Gav's day got a bit better Jac - I certainly cant go that late anymore... and hope he was able to help you in return later in the day... I better go get a bottle ready for his majesty. He should be hungry now
-
Abs - Gav slowly came good!!(after a few hotdogs and a can of coke!) Even if he is majorly hung over he still plays with charlie - I secretly pray that he is really hung over then I don't give him any sympathy coz it was self inflicted.
New Elmo - had a friend come down from melbourne on the weekend and she bought charlie a new Tickle me Elmo - It is unreal!! has anyone else got one - I can't stop pressing the button and making him laugh it cracks me up!! Charlie laughs at him too
-
-
Hello!!
We got back from sydney thisarvo. so sorry havent yet had a chance to catch up on the last 2 weeks worth.
But Jacci my dh went and bought the new elmo while we were in Sydney, how funny is it! I say that now but probably once Nixon learns how to press it over and over and over again i wont be saying that!
Our trip was great. We had Nixon's christening on Sunday. he was the BEST boy ever, i dont even think he cried througout the whole day..... He got his big poo out of the way in the morning (thank god) and i was paranoid about him spewing on his outfit, which he do not all day only right at the end when everyone had gone!!
He got passed around like a footy all day and just loved it. It was a huge day for him & we were amazed at how relaxed he was. Not to mention how cute he looked! I will prob put the pics up on his website tomorrow.
Other then that just caught up with other friends and fam. hung out with my sister & her 2 kids and Nixon has caught up to his cousin (born 4 days apart) last time we were up there she was heaps bigger then him, but this time they were exactly the same size! (we weighed them just on home scales and they were both 6.8kg!
Also found out yesterday that my SIL is pregnant with No#2 so that was exciting.
we have started Nixon on rice cerial just recently. at first he hated the feeling and cried with it in his mouth, & he has started to enjoy it (makes a big mess to when he tries to eat his hands at the same time)
But on a downer i think he caught a cold. Poor little sausage hasnt been himself today, has had a blocked and runny nose all day. (he cried a bit when the plane was decending) going to just get him checked out with the docs tomorrow as his cousin went to the dr today and has conjunctavitis. (he doesnt look like he is getting it but i know its very contageous also)
anyway hope u r all well and i will try and read back on the goss tomorrow.

evening everyone - hmm, bit quiet around here
Well Jordy is now in his room, and yep, on solids too
Well first tasting was yesterday - amazing look of WT? is going on. Today was this really weird strange look on his face... he "ate" about half of what Jen gave him, I don't think he actually knows what to do with it yet, the rest ended up down his chin and chest
Dunno about getting a TME, I dont think I could handle one ? Maybe we'll see at XMas, big maybe.
Pie and Coke is my cure for a hangover Jac - enough grease/fat and sugar to do what needs to be done (and for me extra doses of insulin :p) But yeah, zero sympathy due, and probably not much expected either
Good to see you had a good time up here Nic, and fantastic job well done to Nixon too. Hope he's feeling better soon though
So, is anyone else out there ??????

Hi guys. Back up and about tonight but still feeling a bit woozy but wanted to jump on and say hi. We must have managed to pick up a cold while we were up at the hospital because all 3 of us have had it (hopefull that's it for us for awhile) Declan is rolling lots from his back to his tummy even when he doesn't want to be on it. I think he is using it as an attention seeking tool too. We had him weighed to see how much weight he lost from his gastro and thankfully it was only 144g. He was weighed Tuesday night at the hospital and he was 7474g and he was 7330g on Monday.
Abs - Yay on Jordy starting solids and sleeping in his own room. What solids were given to him?
Nic - Good to see you back. Glad you had a good time away. We had Declan christened on the 24/9 and he was really well behaved throught the christening also (slept through most of it even while they poured the water over his head, he only stirred). Hope Nixon is feeling better its no fun when they are feeling sick because they can't tell us what is happening.
Jacci - No I haven't seen the new Elmo, but have heard I need to go and see one. Are you getting anymore sleep?
Shell - Yay on organising childcare. Those prices definately sound better compared to some on the childcare centres I had been looking into.
Theresa - Glad Em is doing well with the feeding tube in. Georgie yay on rolling from tum to back. How is everything else going?
Susan - How are you settling in to Perth?
Shushee - How are you and Charlie going?
Lisa - How are you guys going?
Amanda, Bel and anyone else I might have missed. How are you all going with those lovely bubs of yours.
Anyways must run Declan has woken and he's due for a feed now. Chat to you soon.

Hi Amy
just the farex rice cereal stuff at the moment. Its apparently very bland... jen will be moving him onto other things bit by bit every couple of days
Bel, you mentiond the other day how Mark woke(?) at 12.30 - I got the same but at 3.30 this morning, as in Jen woke me after feeding Jordy - no complaints here though :p

Hi everyone,
long time since I've been here and actually replied so I have, very sadly, decided in all fairness to ask the moderators to remove my details from this list. I have been 'lurking; on and off for a while but life is just so busy that I think it is best in all fiarness to you guys if I officially pull out of this group.
Caden is going great and has started saying 'mum'. No solids yet but we are a really happy little family and life is so busy and enjoyable I wouldn't change it for anything!
so hope you all have a reat time and its been a wonderful journey,
take care and bye,

Joy, sorry to see you go, i hope Caden continues to thrive Congratulations on him saying Mum how aewsome!! i hope that when you get a chance to just pop back in here & let us know how you & your boy are doing though.
Ive updated a few pics from recent trip on Nixon's website now.
Amy- good to hear Declan is feeling better & didnt affect his weight to much, he is getting so big now!
Abs- yeah Nixon pulled the same facials when we first gave him some rice cerial! i've only given him this so far & wont start on any fruit/veg until we visit the paed again in 2 weeks time. so does he like being in his own room? How are u & Jen liking it?

Hi Joy
hope you can continue to pop in and give us an update from time to time... and wow, at just over 5 months saying mum - how cool. Thanks for sharing with us your portion of the journey
Nic, Jen's doing better than I thought - I'm fine. I think coz she can hear everything through the baby monitor better than she thought she would that that has calmed her thoughts a great deal. We have a check up with the local HCN tomorrow, so more stats then
