Hey Kristie- youre back!! Wow Narree Warren, thats just down the road from me...well about 15 minutes. Hope your place sells quickly and that you get the price you want for it. We went to the bank on Friday and although we could borrow loads of money, we have decided that we can survive in our house just for the moment like it is. We just didnt want to over stretch ourselves, with me not working and bubs coming along. Plus we have a pretty comfy life style atm, so no need to be uncomfy. But at least we know that we can borrow more to build up. And the kids will be fine sharing for quite a few more years to come:) And you have your scan next week....are you finding out what youre having this time??
mel-sorry that Ben isnt sleeping. Its so hard when they decide to stay awake for extended periods...just coz. I hope he settles soon for you. Hows the pg going??? 9 weeks already, wow time flies!!
Me, well, am sitting here trying to stay awake coz I end up sleeping for a few hours while Olivia is asleep, then cant sleep at night. Plus I have just finished book work which needed doing last week!! Olivia is doing well. Shes really climbing now. She got off our new bed today, which is alot higher and fell back and bit her tounge. Plus she was scratched by a boy at mothers group!!! Her face is clearing up with antibiotics and canestin, so it must have been a fungal thing. We have worked out that vegimite and tomatoes irritate her eczema...so today she stole another boys sandwich with vegi and needless to say, her face went beetroot!! Not too sure what else to pop on her sandwiches though. I did jam yesterday, might try honey.
My hands getting sore.....gotto stop typing!!!

Hi!
Disgirl - Sorry to hear Ben's not sleeping well...I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight!!
-
Hi girls,
Kaz, yeah, we didn't fit on the lounge very well and I was sooo uncomfy. She was asleep on the side of my belly. Ugh, I don't thing I'll do that again!
Don't you love hand me downs! I do and my friend is going to give me a heap for the new bub, woohoo!!
Kris, hello!! Good to hear from you. Your pg seems to be going really quickly too! How come mine seems to be dragging?? Yay on having your scan, I hope bubs cooperates :)
LOL, I usually manage to get another half an hours snooze on the lounge in the mornings too, when she's happy to do her own thing in the lounge room. I usually wake to a slap in the face, my little charmer!
Eeek, at Dylan escaping. Lucky you caught him in time. It's so hard to tell the its dangerous at thins age huh? Lil's been attention seeking alot too lately, especially for me, I'm hoping that it won't last long and she'll be ok when baby comes.
Yep, I'm feeling better now, though this cough is still hanging on. Very annoying. Yeah mums ok, though she whinges alot about her back aching and Lily being a terror. She gets into her cupboards and destroys stuff, but what do you expect...? She an active, curious 14mth old, that's what they do! I try not to leave her there too much and now I'm not working I won't need to.
Yeah, finally reaching the end of my pg, it feels likeit been forever to me. I am over it already. Me and pg don't mix well, even though I don't have bad pg's. And it's sooo much harder than the first time, with Lily to look after too. I also have excess amniotic fluid and my belly is huge this time, and baby is measuring 2wks bigger according to scans. So needless to say I'm really uncomfy and BIG!
Disgirl, I'm glad to hear you're not feeling so sick. And I sympathise with not having much sleep. I have just woken up from falling asleep on the lounge after Lily went to bed, so I had 2 1/2hrs sleep on the lounge, and I wll still be going to bed soon, I'm yawning my head off just thinking of it!I fll asleep whenever and wherever I can, LOL! My iron is a little low so that could be contributing...I hope he has a wonderful night tonight ;)
Mel, glad to hear that Olivias face is getting better finally. Porr little monkey sounds like she's been in the wars! Lils been climbing too and I'm scared she's going to hurl herself off something onto the tiles...she's got no fear. That's great that you've found some of her triggers for her face. Maybe try cheese spread, mashed banana or avocado.
For us, well I've been tired and I'm over this pregnancy thing! Baby is kicking up a storm inside, he definately kicks harder than Lily did! Other than that, not much else happening, it's been pretty quiet here.
I hope everyone is well and gets a great night's sleep.....in saying that, Lily is stirring and starting to sook....grrr!
-
Hi All,
Been busy doing I am not sure what!
Glad everyone seems to be doing pretty well.
Dis - Thats hard for you that Ben is having a shocker every few nights - do you still think it his teeth worrying him? Glad you are feeling better this PG than last - hope it continues into the 2nd!
Kaz- Thanks for the fruit tips - I wazz up pineapple, orange and mandarin (he just squeezes the segments) into juice for him a lot - but if i give him the peices he turns up his nose! I just realised your ticker thing has how many dogs you have! Derrr!! Cool on the hand me downs - I have a great button shop near me so I rip off the offending patches on them (winnie, thomas etc- i hate that stuff!) and put cool skulls and "b" patches and buttons! So more Beau!
Kris - Glad to hear you and the boys are well, good luck with your scan and the veiwing - Beaus bum is much better thanks, I am still not sure it was the bacon as we shared a bacon and egg roll the other day and he was fine. Who knows? Jealous you saw SATC - I was going on the first day but had to work and havnt got there yet!
Mel - LOL at Olivia stealing lunches! Too funny. I dont blame you guys for not wanting to dig a deeper financial hole for yourselves - if you can cope at the moment - who knows what you will want to do in a few years time? Glad Olivias face is clearing up - great you have identified things that make her execma worse.
Kel - Oh hugs to you and your big belly! LOL! You must be uncomfy with all the extra fluid too - does LIl touch it a lot? I think Beau would be bashing me in the belly he is violent! I guess you are getting internal boy bashings now! I think our mums forget sometimes what we were like for them too - my mum is honest with me and says she couldnt handle looking after a baby now and wants to do her own thing so I respect that too.
Us - beau has been really great the past week - he has woken up twice at 5am and I have given him a bottle and he has slept till 7:30am - dont know if I am creating a rod for my own back there IYKWIM? 5am is just too too early! He is being really cute holding phones up to his ears and chatting, cuddling his teddy bears and if I say "good night" he lays his head down wherever he is which is so gorgeous! i am getting clucky again now - but we have to wait for the house to sell and get settled in the new place - and i need to learn to drive!
Ok better get us dressed x

Hi girls!
Thanks for all the sympathy, I really appreciate it - especially coming from other ladies who have been there/done that with sleepless nights :)
Kris, it's great to hear from you again! What are the age differences going to be with your three kids? Do you feel like you're having another boy? Are you going to find out?
How scary with Dylan running onto the road!!! They're just so quick and adventurous right now.
Mel, glad Liv's face is clearing up. The climbing scares me! Ben was trying to climb onto his activity table at mum's this morning. Lord only knows why - there was nothing out of his reach! One day he's going to crack his head open on the tiles and I"m sure it will hurt my heart more than his head LOL
Hehehe on Liv stealing another kids' sandwich!
Kel, you poor thing!!! I am dreading what it's going to be like when I'm the size of a house with Ben to still look after. That extra fluid must be making things difficult too. If it makes you feel any better, I'm going to be huge in the middle of summer - at least that's ONE discomfort you won't have for this bub :)
I wonder if boys generally kick more than girls? Probably has more to do with a bub's disposition than gender.
Not long to go now Kel - hang in there!
Jen, Ben does the lay-down thing when you say 'good night' too. Sooooo cute!
I wouldn't worry too much about the 5:30 bottle. A bottle is much better than an early wake up IMO!
Getting clucky huh? Another bub - yay! Can totally understand why you would want to get the house situation sorted first though. I wouldn't want to have to move while I was pg. It's too much of a hassle when you're NOT pg!!!!
Us, well I'm not having a good day. I had a migraine last night and I have my migraine hangover today. I've taken too many sick days off lately so decided I'd actually better turn up for five days of work this week (I've only done that two other times since I came back to work on April 1st!!!!). Thankfully my two wonderful boys were great last night. I went straight to bed when I got home at 5:30 last night and DH took charge of Ben; feeding, bathing and bedtime. Ben picked a good night to sleep through too - thank goodness!
Does anybody know of a good way to get the little ones to try new words? Ben is great at communicating - he knows some basic signs and points the rest of the time - but I'm getting a bit tired of his grunting as he points. When you say a word of something that he wants, instead of trying to say it, he nods! It's like he's saying "Yes, very good mum, I DO want the milk!" LOL He says quite a few words, but I'm over the grunting!!!!
Have a good day - it's lovely and sunny up here for a change :)
-
HI all,
Jen, lucky you having a little angel this week, Lily has been a cling on and just whinging at me for ages now. She's driving me crazy! She's going to mums tomorrow so I can clean without a shadow, and do things like clean the bath and shower! Though him waking at 5.30 sucks, at least he's going back to sleep for you now.
Yep, I'm getting pretty uncomfy now, I was just sitting on the floor playing with Lily and my belly is just too big, I'm huge, I couldn't move or lean forward or anything! Yeah, she touches it a fair bit, especially if it's bare, she's fascinated with my belly button, LOL! And if she sees me putting cream on my tummy she comes running to do it too, very cute! She does get rough sometimes, especially at nappy change time and if she's having a tanty, she kicks my belly, and if we're rolling around on the floor she sits on my belly it's just the right height for her little bum, LOL. But I'm not too worried, sometimes bubs kicks back, hehe, but usually it's not too much of a big deal. I'm nowhere near as precious about being gentle with this pg as I was with Lils.
Dis, ugh, I am so glad this bub isn't a summer baby. He'll be born just at the end of winter, so fairly good timeing really. I have been ok with the weather, though I get hot with the heater on inside for Lily! You poor thing with your migrane, how sweet you dh took care of everything though. Mine did lat night too when I fell asleep on the lounge, mind you Lil was already bathed and in bed, but he tidied her toys and sorted out the kitchen etc... He said I was snoring so he knew I must have been tired!
How great is the weather in sydney today??! I'm loving this sun :)
Well so much for a good nights sleep....we were up at 11 until 1 then at 1.20, then 5.00, then 6.30 for the day. I'm so tired, I'm gonna have a nanna nap soon after Lil finishes her mandarine and goes to sleep. I have been productive today though, I've done 3 loads of washing, folded and packed away two that were already on the line, washed up from last night ( ) and I will make some banana muffins soon too...maybe!
Ok gonna put the monster to bed, tah tah!!

Hi!
Had a busy day...took the boys to gymbaroo for a catch up class and then spent the afternoon shopping...They were so good considering...
Poor Dylan tried to climb his ikea shelf thing tonight and fell but as he did his leg got caught in the tub so got stuck really bad - I was so worried to start with that he may have broken it but he seems fine and was running around 10 min later....gosh this boy is going to turn my hair grey! LOL! He seems to be coming out with a new word everyday at the moment and loves to try and sing - very cute!
Kel - Attention seeking is a bugger sometimes...he's going through this stage where he'll hit me and I say no and then he gives me cuddles and kisses...like he thinks he has to hit me first iykwim? Very strange...he's been hitting at Louis too - it really is a very difficult age to discipline though...
I know it's hard to but try and enjoy the time you have left before no.2 arrives...trust me - you'll know busy when you have 2 to run after! LOL!
Bugger you had such a rough night - sounds like you had a nice day though!
Jen - Yeah at getting clucky again!!! I think it happens when they get to an age you really love and it's all cute and you start forgetting all the hard work - LOL!
Disgirl - There is 18m between Louis and Dylan and their will be 19 months between Dylan and then next bubba - so 3y1m between them all! LOL! I'm sure I'll lose whatever brain I have left pretty soon after bubs arrvies - hehehehe. I'm not working really at the moment though and I feel like I have so much more patience with them as I'm not always trying to do something iykwim?
I feel like it will be another boy but not sure - yep - will be finding out definitely - I have my scan booked in for next Wed! Woohoo! I'm so excited!
Yep - I think the whole kicking thing comes down to personality - with Louis he kicked but wasn't overly active and Dylan was very active! Hmmm definitely the same now! LOL!
Bugger abour your migraine - they're so horrible...glad you got a rest though and a good sleep!
With words - I would just read books - like my first words etc and point out all the ones he knows and make sure you say the name of objects all the time. So if you're playing with a ball say it heaps! It eventually will click and they'll remember and suss out how to say it! It really is just persistance with it...
Off to bed in a minute I think...I'm wrecked!
Chat later!
-
Hey girls, its 730 and Olivia is still asleep:) She did have a little trouble going down last night after having some of daddys ice cream and a tiny bit of my chocolate but she was asleep by 845 and hasnt stirred! Fantastic. I feel great (sorry Kel). I brought some moogoo for her face yesterday, its so lovely and i'll use it for my hands. Shes been clingy too and childcare were going to ring me yesterday coz she wanted to be carried all morning. But she was fine when she got home. I let her fed herself last night, what a mess. Shes getting much better now tho. I am getting a little over the grunting too and am taking some tips from here, although it doesnt work most of the time. At least i got dh to recognise that that means she wants something and hes trying words with her too. She clearly says baby and hello, now for the rest!!!
Today I am cleaning the house...its terrible. I should get going, I am still in bed, dh already made me coffee and got me the lap top. I need to make Olivias food for the day and get her up!!
Hello everyone, hope things are ok
LOve Melissa

hey, I'm new to this forum. My name is Alyce and my son was born 4th April 2007. Would love to chat more with people who have children the same ago. Sorry for intruding on your thread as well. Hope to talk and hear from you all.
Alyce xo

Hi!
Melissa - sorry to hear that Olivias going through a clingy stage...I must say that as much as Dylans attention seeking at times luckily he's not clingy! It's such a hard stage! Yeah for her having a good sleep though!
LOL at letting her feed herself! We've been doing it for ages and it does end up everywhere but it's good for them to learn! The only thing Dylan doesn't eat himself now is weetbix and yoghurt...
Alyce - Welcome to BB! You're not intruding at all! The more the merrier! What's your son's name?
Better go get brekky organised!
-
Welcome Alyce! You're not intruding at all.
Kel, I hope you got a better sleep last night. Seriously, it makes a WORLD of difference when you are well rested - as I'm sure we all know.
Kris, your Dylan sounds like quite the little adventurer! He actually sounds a lot like my brother. Mum tells me stories of what he was like as a kid and how our older brother used to have to tackle him and then sit on him so he would run away/onto the road/whereever! He used to hide in clothes racks at shops, climb everything he could find and was generally just a cheeky little bugger. If Dylan is like that, you sure will have your hands full!
Thanks for the tip on reading to him. He is obsessed with books and I've been known to read his favourite books 15 times a day for a week! Drives me nuts! I can actually read his favourite book to him without looking at the words now LOL. Has anybody seen the Todd Parr books? They're his favourite. Reading Makes You Feel Good is his absolute favourite - I know it word for word.
Mel, Ben had a bad reaction after ice-cream too. Just too much on his little tummy I think. Unfortunately though I've discovered he loves chocolate. He's only had it a couple of times, but now I can't even sneak any past him anymore - he seems to be able to smell it or something!
I think Ben tries to say a lot of words but they don't come out right. He does say all our names (g'parents and my sister and BIL as well) and calls their rabbit "Giggi" instead of Jesse so I guess he's trying. I'm just not a patient person! He doesn't seem interested in saying anything like "Milk", "eat', "drink" etc. You know, the words that would actually HELP! LOL
Us - we had a FANTASTIC night last night! Ben slept for 11 hours, meaning I got a wonderful 10 hours, broken only by my loo breaks. I tell ya, I feel like a new woman today :) I keep losing my breath though - I think i got it at this stage with Ben too.
My poor little boy is getting a cold though. He hasn't really had one before now, just the sniffles once, but he's finding it rather amusing. Making lovely (ie GROSS!) noises through his nose. I'm hoping it will be gone by the end of the weekend.
Have a fabulous day everybody :)
-
Welcome Alyce, youre not intruding by any means:)
I have a memory like a sieve, i just read the post and went to reply, now i am finding myself having to go back..just not staying in my brain....
Kristie, i was letting olivia feed herself, but i was getting cranky with the mess...coz I hate mess...actually i hate cleaning it, so i just fed her again. I know she needs to learn how to do it. I do give her loads of finger food, but the stuff in a bowl usually gets tipped upside down and on the floor:( Last nights spaggetti was flung everywhere. I just need to buy a mop that is for quick use. I have an old style one that is a pain coz you have to rig it out and you need an bucket of water ever time. One of those sponge ones should do... I brought the dog in last night to hoover it up, but she had wet muddy feet, so that was no good either!!!
Mel- i know what you mean about books, theres a few I know off by heart. Glad you had a good sleep too:)
Kel- I really really hope that sleep gets better for Lil soon, before this baby is born. She must be tired and cranky, and in turn it makes you tired and cranky. Thankfully you arent working any more. Good to hear you got some washing done!!!! How were the muffins?
Jen- are you clucky???? Yay:)
Hello to everyone else. Oh I have 5 minutes left til i turn off the computer to clean..yuck yuck yuck!
-
Hi!
A few moments peace as I've just put Barney on and Dylans fixated on it! LOL!
You can never have too many books! Hehe - Since I joined Total Learning we have soooo many new books! The boys love it sooo much! There's so many more I'd like to - the best thing is I get them for free!!
Yep - Dylans a handful alright! Although...he's not hypo or anything..just really active! I think I'll have more trouble with him with the new bubba than I had with Louis and him...but I'm sure we'll all survive! At least Louis and Dylan will be able to play while I'm busy whereas Louis had to soley occupy himself...lucky he was the kind of kid that can but I think Dylan will appreciate have a big brother to play with while I'm busy!
Wow - It sounds like Bens doing really well with his words!!! All the kids learn at different stages - by now Louis was communicating sooo much - he had so many words whereas Dylan just has a few - they're all different!
Glad you got a great sleep - hope the cold doesn't take hold!
Mel - LOL Fair enough! Yeah - Dylan often puts his bowl upside down and flicks it on the floor! Have fun cleaning today - I'm holding off until tomorrow - we've got open for inspection at 12pm and I know if I clean now I'll want to do it again in the morning anyway! LOL!
-
Hey,
thanks heaps. I'm glad i'm not intruding. My sons name is Connor...How about all of you? I've also got another little boy who is 1 month old on Sunday.
-
Wow Alyce - you've been busy! LOL! I have Louis who's 2 and Dylan and then I'm expecting in Nov as well! Hehe!
Where are you from?
-
Awww Alyce a little little one too! What's Connors' little brother's name?
-
lol yeah we have been busy and i would love to start TTC again in a few months but DF isn't so keen. Our second little boy is named Riley so hoping #3 will be a girl but would be happy either way
-
Wow at being keen for no.3 soon! You're a supermum!
