Wow, busy girls!! It's great to see everyone in here again!!
Kris, I usnderstand those stupid sayings, my mum's is 'Been there done that' I'm sick to seath of hearing it. One day she'll say it and I'm going to snap and say what I'm really thinking instead of biting my tongue (sometimes I actually have to BITE my tongue to stop it coming out!)....She also says the 'I did it by myself...' but the difference is that she had her children young and her mum was still working full time...my mother doesn't work.
Some days we're up 4-5 times for a dummy too. Or it's for a 'dink'. She drinks up to 300mls through the night sometimes! Or she's lost her 'bap'...blankie. Sometimes through the night if she's in bed with DH I hear her say 'Da?' cause she can't feel him touching her and he has to move closer and hold her, it's sooo cute! But usually it's just 'numnum?' (dummy). Every night like clockwork she wakes at about 11pm and has to come into our room to sleep. I think she knows that Liam is there with us and she feels left out. If we don't bring her in then she's awake a thousand times a night and it's just so not worth it.
DG, I wasn't implying that you're not capable of doing it, but it would challenge the most seasoned person to care for that many under 2's!! I would go insane that's for sure. I do here when its just Lil me and Liam! Especially when I have to feed him and Lil's in a mood. You are very lucky to have so many people wanting to help though. I wish I did.
I hear you on Jared sleeping on his tummy. Liam likes to as well. And he has to be wrapped still, so he's like a little catterpillar, lol! He can still roll in it all believe it or not. I try to keep him on his back, but usually wake to him on his tum, with his head on my boob  his own cosy, milky pillow...lol!
Jen, lol, I get a bit teary when I think about it too. But I have had some really atrocious days, weeks. I just want her to know that I will help her. I'm her mummy and if I don't help her no matter what, who will? I hope she has more friends and inlaws and stuff to turn to aswell, but if she ends up like me with not many friends (and none that I would really call on for help) and no other family that will help, well, I'll be there for her. I don't want her to EVER feel as bad as I have at times in the past 2yrs. At least your mum is honest with you. Mine isn't, she tries to find every excuse under the sun, it's all about everyone else, other people's fault, there's no 'I'm too old/ tired/ lazy to look after her'. Plus she looks after my bro's 2 kids and has done so for 8yrs. So to me if she can do it for them, why not mine? Or even help in other ways. She could come and help me clean my house, or cook a meal and bring it over. But no...
Ok enough ranting...you hit a sore spot of mine!!!
Have fun working this weekend...is it fun to work weekends???? LOL!
Mel, yayyyyy about R's hips!! What a relief to know, for now at least, she's all good!
Our weekend will be fairly quiet I think...no plans at the mo anyway, but that might change at the drop of a hat!! Have a great weekend girls.
-
Kel, it's all right. I probably COULDN'T manage all four of them  I just feel so bad that you have nobody to help you out, especially since I'm so lucky.
LOL at Liam using your boobs as a milky pillow. Jared's favourite way to go to sleep right now is laying on my chest using my boobs as pillows. They're grow up to be booby men for sure
Jen, we use Baby Beehinds for Ben and will be trying Jared on them for the first time sometime this week. We have never had probs with them for Ben and he doesn't mind the bulkiness at all. We have had slight leakage once or twice when we use them overnight, but that's it. I've got another lot on order right now - a six pack for $125, so they're much cheaper than the organic ones you've used before and they are a one-size-fits-most variety so we can use them for both boys. I have a few Baby Beehinds all in ones as well for Ben and they're good too.
Okay, Jared is starving (Bloody 6 week growth spurt!) so I'm off to feed him yet again!!!

Hey Ladies,
Such a gorgeous day here...we have walked the dogs to the shops already and mowed the lawn - my legs are buggered now as I spent all weekend up and down a ladder painting trees on walls at work!
Beau is good, seems a bit happier than last week so far....he is saying his own name a bit now and starting to repeat words straight after us. I missed him like crazy when I was away overnight and its always so worth it when I get back in the car at the station and he holds my hand from the back seat the whole way home....pretty cute!
Kel - It must be hard to understand why your mum can look after your brothers kids and not yours, you must have a lot of self control not to blurt out things you might regret, especially whent they are dismissive comments about what you are going through right now. Where do DH's folks live? Are they more supportive at all? I cant imagine what it must be like still having Lil waking so much in the night -it must feel like you have two newborns at night time, especially with DH sleeping on the floor, you must feel like a full time mum and nothing else sometimes? IYKWIM? I guess it wont be forever and it will get easier.
Dis - I have checked out Baby beehinds before on a website, I will definately keep it in mind for the next one (hopefully) - we still have the occaisonal leakage with disposables when Beau drinks a lot before bedtime so I think you get it with anything really.
Ok, I am doing nothing until Beau wakes up! Ta ta!
-
Its really worth getting dedicated night nappy if you're having leakage problems - or it can be worth using both long boosters instead of one long, one short. Try to use a wool or fleece cover overnight so the butt breathes.
/off hobby horse :)
Love the new av DG!
ARGHHHH I so want to start TTC! Have a dr appt on the 26th and if my meds are all stable then we can start, I never wanted this long a break between kids.

Hey girls, probably a quick ramble from me this morning before the girls are at it. Its been a horror few days, Becca has been fussing and doing overnighters and doesnt want to be put down. She has 200mls of ff and has only been having bits and pieces at a time and feeds have been taking 1.5hrs (not great at 3am). She has been sleeping for 10 minutes the wakes up screaming. Luckily Olivia has been pretty good with it all. On Saturday night we stayed at mums and I got little sleep as Becca did the whole crying thing til 1230 and would only settle for my mum and then Olivia was awake at 430...dont blame her the portacot was hard as a rock. She wouldnt go back to sleep til mum left for work at 630. So I was K.Oed! Must be a growth spurt for the little moo!
Olivias been in her toddler bed for 2 weeks now without too much hassel. We put Becca in the cot yesterday for a nap and Olivia stood on the side and screamed....wake upppp baby becca!!! Needless to say she did and it took ages to comfort her!
Ok O is awake and trying to type!
-
Grrr! I posted last night but it's not there!! I hate that!!
Just a quick one then to say hello!
We had a great weekend away at Toora - the boys had a ball but are both now sick with colds - again! It was so nice to get away as a family with no distractions and we all had lots of fun playing on the jumping pillow, playgrounds and swimming pool!!
Mel - big hugs on Becca being a little terror at the moment! Hopefully she settles down soon...
Kaz - I hope you can TTC soon!! Good luck!
Kel - Dylan wakes up for a drink as well...I really think most of it is just waking up and getting in the habit of us being there...we're thinking of getting rid of his dummy soon so hopefully that may ease the problem a bit...we just need to get the willpower together to do it! LOL!
LOL - My mum also says "I've paid my dues" wtf? Was it that awful raising kids??? I can't wait to be able to tell my kids when they're older that it was the time of my life! I so look forward to doing so many exciting things with them and letting them experience as much as I possibly can! Kids are born with a thirst for knowledge and it's up to us to keep that going in them...you see so many young kids without any drive or interest and I think it's really sad! Kids are meant to be full of energy and excitement, it just gets knocked out of them over the years...Sometimes I think us parents expect too much of them - expect them to be little adults when they're not and it just causes frustration...
Anyway...enough of my rant! LOL!! I find I have so much to learn about raising kids - I want to do it the best way I can - I'm forever reading magazines/books about it all - but most of it comes down to changing my patterns from what I grew up with!! Sometimes not as easy as it seems!!
Hi to everyone else!!
Chat later!

Kris you are such an inspiration, good on you for your amazing attitude towards motherhood and being a nuturing parent. I find when I hear mums/dads talking to their children when we are out and about in a way I wouldnt choose too, it re-affirms the mum I want to be and that I dont want to become one of "them". Things like "Whats the weather going to be like today" from a little boy finding something to wear to the lady I stayed with on Friday, from mum "What do I look like the weather man?" and when kids make a request and parents say 'I dont care what you want!" Imagine how the kids feel? Ick!
We are all doing a great job, just the fact we are on here looking for advice and support on raising our kids shows how much we care. Good on us!:D
-
Jen, isn't this weather much better? The boys and I have been out much more frequently lately. Maybe that's why they've both settled down a lot more?
Kris, I hope I don't end up like that! I really love being at home with my boys and I'm hoping that that doesn't change :)
Mel, sounds like a growth spurt to me. Geez, I hope Liv gets used to giving up her cot soon!
Kaz, thanks for the advice re: a night nappy. We use a wool cover at night and of late haven't had any problems. Might look into a night nappy if we get leakage again soon.
I love my new avatar too!!!!
Us, we had a really good couple of nights. Jared has slept for five or six hours the last couple of nights and it makes the world of difference. :) Today I ventured out to my folks' house and the shops and still managed to do some housework and cook a baked dinner. Things are definitely starting to fall into place. I think it's all related to sleep! :)
-
Where is everybody?
We've had a good week or so :) Ben's back to normal with his sleeps now which makes a world of difference and Jared is having only one feed during the night most nights which is brilliant! He's also more settled during the day which means our house isn't totally awful anymore, just messy
We had a Mother's Group meet up on Friday and Ben had a ball playing with the kids... but not the kids from his own group  There was another group of mum's there with three year olds and he latched onto them! He seems to love the older kids a lot more. There us another mum in my group who has a bub 2 days younger than Jared and she is the teeniest little thing! She is just over the weight Jared was when he was born, meaning she is two kilos smaller than him now! Geez he looked like a big oompa next to her!
We've just started using cloth on Jared. I was sick of throwing away so much money - 40 cents a nappy at 8 nappies a day sure does add up. We're using kinda half and half, but it's good that I'm not going through a packet of nappies every few days. The extra washing really doesn't bother me at all. Hanging clothes on the line is actually quite relaxing - a few minutes out of the house away from the kids is all good!!!
Hope you're all well :)
-
Hello there.....
It is quiet hey Dis? I didnt want to post one after the other so I was waiting LOL!
Glad Jared is having only 1 feed a night - must mean you are getting some nicer stretches of sleep now. Dont worry, Beau has always been bigger than everyone else, he weighs as much as the three year olds at playgroup. DH's families babies are all light weights, but all my brothers are rugby players :p
We are hanging in, I had a scary morning with Beau, he has had a runny nose the last day and this morning seemed ok so we went to the shops, mistake! He cried the whole time and was really lethargic and floppy. So I went to the chemist and got him some neurofen and made it home in one peice, about an hour later and he seems much better - wanting to play and eat again. I havnt used Nurofen before, always panadol, but it seemed to work much better for him.
Apart from that, nothing too exciting! Just got some clothes from the US delivered that I ordered, and did a little parade for Beau before he went down - just some cheapie stuff but its nice to have some new things! YAY! Seem to be making some friends at playgroup which is awesome and have been drawing up plans for our house reno's so we are here to stay it seems!:D
Hope everyone is doing great x

Hey All,
We went away for the long weekend for a family holiday to Walkerville which is down the coast about 2 hours from Melbourne near Wilsons prom. We stayed at Adams brothers holiday house. It was great fun. Went walking and to the beach...we all got sunburnt and the wind chill was frezzing. Olivia jumped straight into the sea, fully clothed. Shes such a water girl.
Rebeccas been good, she rolled on Friday from back to front and has been doing it every since!!!
Well, my bath is ready...hope you are all well:)
-
How funny's that Mel, we spent the long weekend at Tarra Valley (near Yarram) which was ... interesting ... to say the least.
New camper trailer and we could get Pip to sleep in his end, but he was waking up screaming every night ... 2am Friday night ... 3 am Saturday night ... 4:30am last night. Least we were getting a bit more sleep first! Ended up taking him into bed with us but it meant I froze on the edge of the bed and he stole my pillow. He's pillow-obsessed!!!! Totally obsessed! It was very cute though when he "found" his Charlie (galah) so gave him big kisses on his beak! So cute!
Jen - I found myself saying to Pip "I don't care what you think" cause I'm over-tired most of the time :( I hate it, wish I could get enough sleep and clean and relax and actually play with him. Ahhh well.
Isn't it cute now that they are communicating with us? Asking what's wrong when they are crying and they can tell us they are "hungry" or "hurts" etc.
anyhows, have a lovely night all, hope you all get a good night's sleep.
-
Jen, how's Beau? I find Nurofen MUCH better than panadol. Tastes a lot yummier too, panadol is gross. Does Beau gravitate toward the older kids at playgroup? Ben always loves playing with older kids rather than kids his own age. It's a bit of a worry sometimes because they don't realise that he's so much smaller than them!
Mel, sounds like a great weekend. I'm dying to get away, but I'm still working on Craig for Japan next year, so I think I'll try to hold out for that instead than a weekend away. Actually, I'd love both!
Kaz, We went camping in a camper trailer between Chrissy and New Year and Ben had a shocking night one night. I hate thinking that you're going to wake up the rest of the campground! I ended up taking him for a drive that night because I couldn't stand it anymore. Very fun when you're 8.5 months preggas, unfamiliar with the area and it's 3am!
The communication now is SO much better. Every time Ben uses a sentence Craig and I break into silly little grins. It's amazing watching them develop. Ben's still having trouble with some sounds though - he can't even say his name properly - he's "Nen". Strange since he can say Ball, Bounce and a bunch of other 'B' words. I guess we'll just have to keep trying.
We went to the nurse again this morning for Jared's 6-8 week check. He's even more of chunk now - 6.2kgs! Ben didn't weigh that until he was 3.5 months old... Jared is only seven weeks! I won't be able to carry him if he keeps gaining at this rate
Hope you're all well :)

Hi Girls,
Still got a sick bubba here - he is a bit better (always when DH comes home!!) - I am still using the Nuerofen Dis, although its tough getting it in there!! Beau kind of does go for the older ones, although the little boy the same age as Beau always kicks him so I think thats why he steers clear! They (the older ones) like Beau cause he is the same size but i dont think they can work out why he isnt as advanced as them:D Glad Jared is doing so well weight wise, I have been carrying B the past few days as he wont walk anywhere! My back is killing me! How cute that Ben is saying sentences!
Kaz - Oh I am sure I say the equivalent of that, if not that exactly, especially the past few days!!
Mel - Yay at going away! Hope you had a nice break, congrats on Becca rolling!
I hope Beau improves tomorrow - I need to get out of the house, but after Monday's episode I am spooked about going out with him not being 100%....
Anyway good nite xxx
-
Oh Mel, I forgot to say congrats on Becca rolling! What a clever little girl :)
Jen, I hope Beau is feeling better soon. Is it a coldy kinda thing or a bug? You probably said earlier, but I'm lucky if I can remember my own name most days!
I hate carrying Ben now. After carrying a bub half his weight, it sure is a change!
We went to an indoor play area this morning and I really should do it more often. Three other kids form B's mum's group were there, and he even played with one of them briefly  He had a ball though, mostly just running around kicking a ball (he's soccer obsessed), but at least he wore himself out. J got lots of cuddles too and he's asleep now as well.
It's raining and I had a whole bunch of nappies on the line. Oh well, I think we have enough for at least tomorrow :)
Can you believe we are almost halfway through March? :(
-
Hello hello hello echo echo echo!
Everyone very busy I guess!
I know Dis, where does the time go? Beau has more of a coldy thing, its turned all phlemy (sp?) now so he has a little cough - he seems happier the last two days but I have kept him home from playgroup yesterday for fear of infecting other bubbas. My sanity is suffering for it though! We just came back from a big walk with the dogs and now I am buggered! Good on you for getting to the play centre thingy - i am sure Ben loved it!
Hope everyone is well and happy x
-
Sorry I havent posted much...cant even remember when I did and too lazy to look back!!! Well I am so tired, Olivia has decided to wake at 2am every night for the past 3 or 4 nights and Becca has been waking for nightly feeds....except last night she slept 11 hours, pity Olivia was awake again. Olivia has taken to "mummy nigh nighs" wanting me to sleep with her at all times. GGGRRRR. Shes also chucking some woping tanties, the pther day I had to put her in her room because she was throwing things. OMG where did she get that from because we dont throw things when we are angry?
I'm also feeling a bit flat again coz am not having much luck with my weight. I was going to see a personal trainer but at the moment money is a bit tight. So am going to see if mum will lend me her treadmill.
Other than that we are all good health wise. Most of the kids in mothers group have been sick, one was hospitalised with pneumonia.
Whats everyone doing this year for birthdays? We are just having immeadiate family over for a bbq dinner and at mothers group we will have a joint party.
Anyway take care all.

Hello ladies,
Wow has it really been two weeks since my last post??? Sorry! I have been busy. But then who isn't?! I only really get time to post on weekends...
Well, we are going ok. As I said just really busy. Working some extra hours. I will be doing one whole day every week for the next few weeks. Lil and Liam are really good. Lily has started hurting Liam, kicking and hitting him at every opportunity, but then giving him big cuggles and kisseys too. She really is too cute at times, and soooo amazingly frustrating the next minute! Everything is 'MINE!" now too. No matter what it is, if she was sitting in the chair I just sat in, it's mine, if I am drinking the same thing she was (not her drink, just the same drink) it's mine, if Liam is playing with something that she was its mine....everything is hers!! She's also becoming a daddy's girl, often preferring him over me which is kinda nice sometimes cause she's now not whinging for me so much when I am feeding Liam or when I clean or do stuff around the place :)
Can you believe our babies are nearly TWO??? Only one month til Lily is 2, OMG!!! We will be up in Qld for her bday this yr, so we get to celebrate it with DH family. These two years have truely flown. I was just thinking last night that I was probably jsut pregnant with Liam now (now that he's almost 7mths old) that's how old Lily was when I got pg again. Eeeek!! I can't imagine how I managed!
Sleeping....don't mention it and neither will I!! They are both having their days, though there was one glorious night where I got 6hrs sleep straight! It was heavenly! Then he only woke one other time, Lily woke once and DH got up for her anyway, oh I'd give my left foot for another night like that.......well not quite, but it would be lovely to have another good night's sleep.Since then they've been either tag-teaming or one of them has a horrific night. Last night Liam was awake 4 times I think, and Lily 2. Though for some reason I'm not feeling as tired as I thought I would.
Liam is crawling properly now. He has been for a while, been commando crawling for months now! He can crawl up my mums stairs in her loungeroom...only 2 but it wasn't until Lil was about 10 mths that she could do it!! He's sitting and saying bubba and mumma already too. He's got two teeth and the top ones are coming any day now too. He's growing waaaaayyyyy too fast for me, especially being my last bub :(
Lily is coming up with new things every day and understands so much. She surprises me sometimes with what she understands. The other day she took my breaky plate to put into the sink (yep training her well!!) and it had my burnt crust still on it. I said to her 'Put the plate in the sink and the crusts into the bin' fully expecting to find soggy crusts in the sink later, but I wathced her and she went to the sink and took the crusts off the plate, dropped it into the sink and put the crusts into the bin!!! Oh I was soooo proud!!!! I can ask her to get me anything for Liam too, nappies, clothes (even specific items!) she's just getting so clever and big!
Ok enough of my rambling, I hope everyone is well and have a great weekend!
